    Hello thanks for the video and excellent explanation, I noticed that this TV does not have the wi-fi module? Can you tell me where is the wifi module?on the Samsung smart tv ue40es6560 model? I should replace this module Thank you!

      I'm a bit confused friend. Do you mean "where is the wi-fi module located insid the tv"? Or where can you find a wi-fi module on the internet?
      I found those light strips on ebay, so if you're looking for a new module to replace the old one, then the internet is the way to go. And when you open up the tv, you'll see where it is located inside, and simply replace it. 👍👍👍👍👍

    I've a Samsung tv which has blue light and makes watching football very uncomfortable because it's a spotlight and some corners are not very clear while other areas are dark blue. How can I change such back light

      I'm pretty sure the proceadure is the same in your TV friend. There is always a way to open up the TV and reach the inner LED strips and replace them. You only need to make sure that it is the LEDs that have the problem. You can open up the TV with the LEDs exposed, and supply power, just like I did in the video, and see if they turn on or not. If they turn on, then the problem might not be on the LEDs, but on the screen.

      Well hello there good friend. It hurts me to say this but I can't answer this one. I'm not a tech guy, just a DIYer. I'm pretty sure a search on ebay will reveal a lot. Or other sites. Thanks for dropping by though. 👍👍👍👍

    Ive samsung which towards the edges is bright and towards the centre it looks a little faded I have been told the LCD panel decays in 7 years (which it is) UHD TV 55 inch so basically should I just strip the whole thing out only to find the LEDs are ok ? Or just assume the panel has aged and then sell the TV ???

    • @mr_nice.
      @mr_nice.  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to brake it to you good friend, but that is a question for a professional, not a DIYer like me. I haven't come across this type of failure, so I can't give you an answer.
      The good news though, is that stripping the TV is an enjoyable endeavour. If you do it right, you can put back everything and it'll still work, without anyone noticing that it had been opened. And if the LEDs do work, then you can still sell it.
      I'm pretty sure you'll find videos in youtube reffering to your specific problem.
      Don't sweat it.

      We simply searched on ebay the TV model, adding the words "LED strips", and that's how we found the ones for ours. You could add any other term you want, there are plenty of sellers selling those parts, and they sell them with the model number.
      If you have the faulty LED strips at hand, you can also compare them to the advertised strips from the seller, so you can be 100% sure they are the same. You can even contact the sellers and tell them the model number, and they can provide you with the apropriate LED strips.
      It's realy easy my friend, you'll find what you need in no time.
      Cheers.

    6:43 I have a model close to this one (UE55F6500) and I cant figure out how to remove those nine, at least 2/3 of theme are hold so tighen i can manage to make them move...
    I end up completely broke the head of the scew... Trying a second time with a screw extractor but it doesnt help...
    And i dont dare force the others being afraid to damage them...
    I am helpless, second time i cant repair a samsung product because the whole thing is shipped with stuck screws...

    • @mr_nice.
      @mr_nice.  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey friend, thanks for tuning in.
      Is it possible you didn't use the proper head on the screwdriver? I'm using a typical 4mm screwdriver with different heads, and the one I chose fitted exactly in the head. There are similar heads that "seem" to be fitting correctly, but only one is the actual proper head. If I remember correctly, these heads are philips, not PZ. Sometimes there is a difference, and a PZ head won't work with a philips. I didn't have any problem with those screws. Maybe you should try some WD-40, with proper protection around, so it doesn't spray everywhere.
      Now that I think of it, I believe these screws had a dab of glue on them, so that they won't move on their own, but it's not a thread locking glue. They can be removed and refitted with that sticky substance, and stay in place.

      @@mr_nice. Thank you for those advices.🤗 Unfortunately i reassembled the tv and it looks like i damaged the LCD panel (there is some subtle vertical line, not a big deal, but noticeable, probably because i tried to drill the screws), so i bought a new TV during the black friday yesterday.
      Also, this is not the exact same version of the model since i didn't had 9screw but 20 tiny screw on the problematic part (6:43) maybe they upgraded the thing during its production time?
      I cant be 100% sure that i had the right screwdriver (the screws were too small for regular ones, and too big for smarphone ones),the head was flat and it had the philips knockback effect on some of them (the ones i couldn't remove) but not all surprisingly.
      Tried with wd40 but it didn't help, and yeah i do believe the pointless industrial tape covering the screw probably add difficulty to make it move. I did put a little of acetone, but again couldn't turn the screw.
      Anyway, i am now done with this 2013 TV, thank you for this precious video, if my next TV have similar issue i ll try again without any doubt! 💪

      @@AnthonyBobenrieth ...... Well yeah, the TV in the video wasn't "that" new either, I'm estimating around 2014 - 2015 model. And yes, the screws are indeed flat head. They are M3 thread, with 5mm length, so if everything else failed, I would personaly drill them off, and open new threads with an M4 tap, and put new M4 flat head screws there. Very weird that they didn't come off in your case. They don't usualy make them so stuck. I don't realy understand. I did notice however, that the female thread was very tight. And bare in mind, when I made the video, it was the second time I disassembled the TV. So there was a first removal and refit, before the video, and turning these screws was allways tight. I don't know why they made those threads like that.
      Are you sure the damage on the panel is from drilling? I don't see a connection. If you didn't have it before, then maybe it is. Did you have the same issue with the back light too? Why did you try to open it?

    • @AnthonyBobenrieth
      @AnthonyBobenrieth 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mr_nice. I was trying to open it to replace the back light indeed (bought some 2013SVS55F on aliexpress for ~35€), the middle bande stopped working 3month after the end of the 2year constructor warranty. This tv was used during 6years with defected back light...
      I cant be sure what exactly damaged the lcd panel, but we got pretty brutal, at some point i tried to hammer the screw extractor, and my stepdad tried to torn the bezel (we were out of solutions)... 😅

    • @mr_nice.
      @mr_nice.  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AnthonyBobenrieth ....haha, oh dear ! ! !.... you know, in my case, if the solution of the new light strips didn't work, I was determined to try normal LED strips, working on 12V DC, just for the fun of it. I'm pretty sure they'd work too.
      But the new strips was indeed the fault in my case, so that was the end of it.
      I had another case of another samsung, where the problem was a blown capacitor in the lighting circuit, on the pcb, and not the light strips themselves. That was even faster. No need to disassemble anything. The capacitor was clearly blown, it was bulging out on top. Put in a new one, and job done.
      But in another case, on an LG this time, the power supply circuit got fried somehow, and even though I managed to find the exact schematic, tried to replace caps and mosfets, even a 14pin chip, it was no good. Took it to the tech guy, who just replaced the pcb. Sometimes DIY doesn't work, if you're not a proper electronics technitian.
      Good to know your problem was solved though. If you can't use the old TV, you can keep the old power supply pcb for your power needs. If it still works, you can utilize the differnt voltages it puts out.
      I managed to fix my PC monitor this way. The backlight circuit stopped working, and the lamps didn't light up. And they weren't LEDs, they were the older fluorecent lamps, and they needed special driver to light up. I found a new driver in a local electronic parts store. But it worked with 12V DC, not 220 AC, so I completely bypassed the AC circuit, taking power from the PC power supply. And now the monitor turns on whenever the PC turns on, and the monitor works with the 12V and 5V power of the pc's power supply. Including the old backlight lamps, using the new driver. That turned out pretty awesome.
      Only drawback: I can't regulate the brightness, but who cares....! ! ! ! 😂😂😂😂
      Good job brother.

      Just the typical philips heads brother. The tool set has a couple of different philips heads, I just picked up the one that fitted the screw heads properly. Nothing extraordinary.

    where can i find ledstrip for UE50

    • @mr_nice.
      @mr_nice.  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I got them on ebay brother. It's a great place to strat. Just use the full model name on the search bar.
      Just be careful of the back of the strips. Some strips are insulated, others are not. You need to know the exact layout of your strips, so that you 'll be able to compare with the ones you'll find.
      Many sellers can also inform you if they have LED strips for your exact model. No worries.

    I am gonna try to repair my Samsung UE46F6500 and this video can be a great help.
    When you test the new backlight strips, you just put the plug into the power connection ? Thanks

    • @mr_nice.
      @mr_nice.  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well thank you.
      Absolutely, yes, the specific model turned the lights on imediately when we connected the cord.
      I don't know if other models will behave the same. On other models, you may need to connect the "on-off" switches. Each model could be different, so I can't say anything about models I haven't touched. Only speculations. But I'm sure you won't have a problem.
      The only thing I suggest you be careful of is the back of the strips. Be carefull if the original strips are insulated in the back or not. Some models have insulated light strips, and others don't, so be very carefull of the back of the stips. If the back is insulated, and you buy strips that are NOT insulated, you'll probably shortcircuit something. I had an experience of this, so I recomend you take care of the back of the strips. The strips should be the proper ones for your model. If they are similar, you have to see the originals, wether they are insulated or not, and if the originals are insulated, and the aftermarket are not, and the aftermarket DO work with your TV, you'll have to inisulate the back of the strips somehow. Just to give an example.
      Cheers

    How do you Test only the leds?

    • @mr_nice.
      @mr_nice.  ปีที่แล้ว

      You simply plug in the TV. If the panel is removed, the LEDs will be clearly visible. If the panel is not removed, and the TV is not disassembled, then I don't know of any way to test the LEDs. But if there is a problem with the LEDs, then the TV will not be as bright as before.
      If your question refferes to the actual LEDs on the strip, with the strip removed, then I haven't done this, so I can't inform you about it. But even if the LEDs "on" the strip are half OK and half bad, then the strip will not work at all, since it is designed to work with all the LEDs, and not just a few of them. So if one LED is bad, the whole strip will stop working.
      Thanks for visiting.
