Tom all your videos are good long or short .Just get out what you Can ..would like been updated on some of your other jobs that still requires more work ..thanks for the time and effort you put in 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the support as always John, I really do need to do more updates on jobs, sometimes I start filming and time just runs away so I have to focus down on the job
A new subscriber to your vids. Really enjoy watching them. I'm new to plumbing having been in IT for the last 30 odd years. I've always enjoyed doing really basic jobs at home or families such as replacing a toilet/rad/sink/taps etc.. and thought why not learn it proper. Ive just completed a weekend plumbing course and got my L2 diploma. Not sure if I want to pay the extra for the NVQ. But the master plan is to do Gas which I start next month and aim to get Gas Safe registered during the course of next year. Your vids are excellent for guys like me to see what happens in the "real world" rather than what happens in a training centre.
Thanks for the sub mate, I'm so pleased you find the videos helpful, like you say it's OK learning it in a training centre, and they do teach you the rules and regs, but actually seeing it on site and what actually happens is a different thing all together. When I first started plumbing at 16 in 2008, there wasn't really anything like this on the internet to learn from, it would have been really helpful to me, even just to boost my confidence, had there been some real world videos. I also get a lot of enjoyment from making them, and being able to share knowledge and hopefully a bit of entertainment is all I wanted the channel to be
I always tell people I can’t say I’ve enjoyed every job I ever did but I’ve really enjoyed the industry. After 51 years in the engineering construction game as a pipe fitter/ welder I’ve been on some real challenging work but enjoyed the problem solving and passing on my experience. I mentored an apprentice from day one and now at 33 he’s taken over from me in the office as manager. He has a great work ethic, great craftsman and problem solver. I told him a few years ago that I couldn’t really teach him anymore, just give him the benefit of my experience and guide him in routes he may not have been on before. He’s top notch, and I’m really happy to have helped him on his path. He only needs to expand his experience into some of the other trades, rigging and mechanical.
I was so fortunate that I had a great guy who taught me, he passed on so many skills and life lessons, there was nothing that ever fazed him. Without him I wouldn't be where I am today, at the time you don't always apprecaite it, but look back I am so grateful, thanks for the support as always
Well done Tom love the videos not a plumber myself but got to do a lot of site work so I got to see how hard and dirty your work can be and I think it's great that you show that side of it thanks look forward to seeing some more John
Hi Tom, yep I always enjoy the one day jobs etc, this was yet another enjoyable film to watch. The time you take filming, editing and uploading is always appreciated and I always enjoy the variety of jobs you do, I can always learn something. I hope the bad experience you had during this week was not too traumatic, bad jobs, bad days, bad weeks I’m sure we all get them from time to time. Have a great weekend and as always take care, 🍻👍👍👍
Thanks for the support as always Chris, I was more annoyed with a job and it got to me a bit, a builder has done a crap job and was expected to get over stuff, I just walked away, I can normally get over problems but sometimes you have to question the competency of other trades, I will tell the story and post the pictures when its all been sorted, thanks for watching as always mate
Nice to see that job moving on Tom, tidy as always, don’t let it grind you down, I think everyone has the same in whatever job they do from time to time, it’s hard when you care about what you do, hope you have a break at the weekend 👍🚽🪠
Another great video. Beautiful pipework, as usual. Personally, unlike ordinary pencils, I find the Pico type hard to mislay, as you get into to habit of putting it back in its holder automatically. The built-in sharpener is also very handy. (Being a Festool fan I have the Festool branded version 😀) I find your narration and casual conversation makes your videos highly watchable and very relaxing, and I really appreciate the effort you put into making your videos, on top of doing a full days work!
Thanks for the support as always Steve, I had one of the tracer pencils, I never lost it but the end bit fell to bits, I will have a look at the Festtool version, glad you enjoy my style of video, thanks for watching
Thanks for the support as always Tony, I do tend to film quite a few jobs and never put them out, if I ever get time I will go back through the archives and put some extra stuff out, have a great weekend 👍
Great video mate! Got a question if you don't mind. You have to be pretty spot on with the waste for the basin for it to sit inside the pedestal. Do you know the measurements of the basin beforehand or is there a standard measurement? Thanks mate, appreciate it!
To be honest there is always a bit of guess work if you don't have the bathroom suite on site, I normally do mine at 150mm from the finished wall and this normally ends up OK, thanks for watching
Where do you get that sheepwool from Tom or what brand is it? Been meaning to ask where you get the one you can slide over the pipes for about a year now, this video finally reminded me haha! Top video as always mate really wanna get that milwaukee cutter tbh. I've got the old one it just takes too long to cut
I buy it from my local supplier, I will find out who makes it, the new inox cutter is a vast improvement, that is still the original blade, looking back at the jobs it's done its had a hard life, I did a load of carbon pipe which it isn't designed for and it still cut it, thanks for watching as always
Thanks for the support as always mate, I'll sure it will be fibre at its all done, I will have to put some noggins in around the impey floor so it will strengthen everything up
They very rarely leak, I did have some bad fittings once which were very loose, I only use polypipe now and have never had an issue, thanks for watching as always 👍
Thanks for the support as always Darren, I will defiantly bare that in mind, I don't always know when I'm going to be going to jobs like these, I use them to fill my spare time in and just drop back and forth
Thanks for the support as always mate Colin, it's not really a problem, I walked off a job as the builder had done a crap job, it does bother me because it's my name on it as well, I will share the pictures at some point
Your peers will know you walked off the job and it will have done your reputation more good than you think. Your builder will know he’s in the wrong just hope it’s not too much of a financial hit.
@@PlumbLikeTom everytime I look up you've got a new blockbuster at the box office. The stars will be out on the red carpet to see what you've been up to. Have a good weekend.
I use an angle grinder to put some extra teeth on it, you can buy a special sharpening tool, but an angle grinder does the same job, thanks for watching
It's good to see you have been positive , it can get you down. Enjoy the good times, too. Thanks for the great video. Keep it up .
You are right mate, enjoy the good times, I do love the job but sometimes it can be tough, thanks for watching
Brilliant video Tom I see it not only my underfloor that’s full of rubbish, enjoy this one 👍👍👍👍👍🍀
Thanks for the support as always mate, I did try and clear as much as I could, I hate to leave a mess

I’m sure you will have made the correct decision, you have plenty experience and you know the job.
I look forward to the film, take care mate. 🍻👍👍👍
great work as always mate, notching for that soil, your a braver man than I 😂
It had to be done on this one, it was more a floating floor rather than actual joists so I should be good just to add a brace in, thanks for watching
Your videos , just as it is. Hard work grafting to make a living that`s what it takes well done mate

Another good video Tom. Have you had any leaks from solvent weld joints?
They very rarely leak, I did have some bad fittings once which were very loose, I only use polypipe now and have never had an issue, thanks for watching as always 👍

Would armaflex lagging be a choice maybe?
You could use armaflex, It is a bit more expensive though
