You never have to apologize for showing your emotional reaction to a song. That's why everyone watches these reaction videos in the first place! The song was written and sung by Paul McCartney. He's the one on the upper right with the full beard. He wrote it after he had a dream about his mother, Mary Patricia McCartney, who had died when he was 14. McCartney was dealing with a lot of tension within the Beatles and his mother came to him in the dream and told him to relax and "let it be."

You my friend crying shows that you have a great heart and a Heavenly soul. The story of how the song came about was divine intervention. And I'm a True Believer that the Beatles came together through divine intervention. Not many people know this but when they were on The Ed Sullivan Show for the first time there was not one report of crime in any of the major cities in America. To this day no band can claim that title.

This song was written more than 50 years ago, and it's based on a dream Paul had on his dead mother Mary basically giving him an advise to stay positive despite all the turbulences the members of the band were having at that time. These troubles eventually led the band to break up less than a year later. I wonder what Sir Paul feels about a song with such personal lyrics as this one making young people cry 50 years after he composed it.

Exactly! They were at the point of No Return they had been together overall since 1956, and went through various group changes. They released "Love Me Do" in 1962 hit the big time in 1964 and then by 1970 so much happened. They achieved so much but they were growing up and growing apart. They broke up in 1970 and reached a point that most of the time in the 1970's they didn't talk to each other. After John Lennon died, they reunited at Ringo Starr's Second Wedding and the Fellows worked with George Harrison "All Those Years Ago". If you can listen to The Temptations version.

@@laminage They actually hit the "big time" in 1962 in the UK.
They didn't break America until 64 when they appeared on the Ed Sullivan show after having their first number one in the States. But there was already "Beatlemania" in Britain and Europe with a string of number ones under their belts.
Contrary to popular American belief, America did NOT discover the Beatles.
They are in fact British, just in case y'all think they are American.

I know, I have noticed this a lot, Americans talking about The Beatles as if they are American or something.
I was having an argument with a guy on TH-cam recently who was trying to say the American Capital albums were the original Beatle albums and even better than the British "versions" .
In the end I had to post links to two articles on how The Beatles would get pissed off with the American Capital releases being a mishmash of tracks and even of poor quality, to finally shut him up. Because he just wouldn't believe me, and this wasn't some young dude, he proudly stated he had been following them since late 1963. I had to point out I had been following them since 1962.
The fact that America was so jealous of the Beatles that they actually MANUFACTURED a group "The Monkees" as the American answer to The Beatles says a lot.
      Cheers mate.

I look at it every day to remind myself that as bad as things may seem, 'all shall be well' in the end. This song just puts that sentiment to music, I believe - letting go of fear and anxiety, and just 'let it be'. It's long been one of my favorites among the Beatles' catalogue. Don't apologize for crying. Music is the language of the world. Its colorless and is supposed to drive your emotions. Sometimes it brings a smile and sometimes it brings a tear. Just let it flow through you and enjoy those tears brought on by this song. You aren't the only one to to it. This song has brought tears to the eyes of more than one generation and there is a simple joy in knowing others feel the same.

@@PemisCorner your welcome. There's an old band called Wet Willie and they do a song called keep on smiling. Look it up for yourself. I think you'll enjoy it. You don't need to react to it. If you want to react to a song that brings joy to your heart I'll suggest Three Dog Nights Shambra-la. They rivaled the Beatles in popularity between 69 and 72. Take care now.

If you need to let the tears flow then let the tears flow. To tell you the truth the reason those of us on this end of this trip listen to you guys is to see if those great old songs that made us feel many different emotions can still evoke those emotions out of a brand new generation and appears as though these songs are powerful cross decades and that's what the whole journey is about. The whole reason to exist is to understand love and all of its facets and forms and to learn how to send and receive unconditional love to all your brothers and sisters around the world and throughout all of creation. Seems to me that that's a very great reason to live into exist to experience and understand love and all of its potential uses and how it can affect all manner of people and all worlds of creation so never apologize for a heartfelt emotion triggered by love.

This was The Beatle's last number one song in 1970. Paul wrote this for his mother, who died when he was 14. He was going through a bad time. The group was breaking up and he was drinking too much and taking too many drugs. His mother came to him in a dream and told him everything was going to be all right and to just let it be. So, he wrote the song and it went to number one on the charts.

Something no one is mentioning is the fact that The Beatles actually made front page (at the top!!) headlining news around the world when they broke up. They were THAT important to everyone worldwide. Try naming another band making front page news just because they broke up. Watch the most incredible Beatles documentary called How The Beatles Changed The World. It shows how everything they did the world followed suit regarding music, lyrics, clothing, hair styles, how time spent in a recording studio could be completely different, etc. They were the first to prove that music could be art. The notion that an entire album should be recorded in just a few hours went out the window. They slowed down tapes therefore altering how it sounds. They inserted samples of things like birdcalls, etc. They had a short drum beat cycling over and over throughout an entire song. (Tomorrow Never Knows...from the Revolver album) They did things no one did until them. Geniuses!

@@PemisCorner Paul McCartney is likely the most prolific songwriter in popular music history and surely one of its greatest melodists so there are a lot of great songs in his catalog... Let It Be is a cute song (Paul was always known for his charming personality and positiveness in his songwriting) but he has way better songs imo... I reccomend you to listen to songs like Penny Lane, Eleonor Rigby, Yesterdey (You probably heard that one) and many others... And that's only his songs with The Beatles (which are undoubtly his best stuff) but he has good songs in his solo career as well like Maybe Im Amazed and Band On The Run.

Paul had compose some of the more melodic and famous songs in the Beatles. It's one of his strengths and in my opinion a very gifted one at that.
I suggest you check out his lesser known songs like She's Leaving Home and A Fool On The Hill. Add in the famous Beatles harmonisation, just lift the songs to another level.
