    Thanks for uncovering this incredible slicer for me! Just working on a project and I didn't want a race chart specifically (there's a few of those), just something to animate a visual. 4 years after you posted this and it hit home for me!

    Animation for the sake of it is usually a pretty bad idea. How many users want to sit through a five second animation just to see the end picture, or see something interesting during a sequence only for it to disappear. There’s got to be some value in the animation itself so a race bar chart showing progression and change of position over time = good, a jerky play axis on a pie chart = bad.
    There’s some useful animation options on a few custom visuals, but I’ve struggled to find much of a use case for the play axis.

    I cant figure out the bar chart that is being used. It has period in the bottom right corner. I cant find that visual except for the race bar chart. Which chart is that?

    How can we use this dynamic slicer to animate an area chart or line chart, showing a cumulative value growth over time? I haven't been able to figure this out.

    How do you make the play Axis start at a certain date? When I try it always start at January even though my data might first start in June, so how do I make the play Axis to start in June?

    I wish If you could do something similar with maps , i.e. the spread of COVID-19 !

    • @Astronomynatureandmusic
      @Astronomynatureandmusic 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are able to do that. Create a Map and fill it with Covid cases. Fill the Size field with Covid cases per country. With the Play axis graphic selected, select Edit interactions; now click the Filter icon on your map. Cases per country show size animated circles!

    Hi guys i have a question about Power BI: i've created a data model in a desktop files and i want to hide (or block) the query that i've made to import the data. Is it possible? I have to give this pbi desktop file to some people and they can create columns/tables/measures but they have not to see/modify the query through the advanced editor...any ideas?

    Total values is not incremental over a date? This will not help for a race animated chart

    Nice idea! The animation is not so "smooth"... it's really like filtering the data. Is it possibile to animate more the transitions?

    • @MrAszpic
      @MrAszpic 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For some reason it's only smooth on scatter charts' own play axis

    • @radekou
      @radekou 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it's more of a workaround at this point it seems. There is way more effort required to make it "smooth", this would certainly make a great native feature at some point :)
