    Want to learn how to make realistic clouds . Watch a Bob Ross video. 3 minutes or less and you got it down for life.

    By using paint layers a more realistic sky can be had. Each layer being diluted and more transparent.... hence the hard edges muted. Just like frozen action characters, clouds if too prominent can become distracting. The idea is to infer a sky, but leaving it as a thing not of attraction.

    Keep a spray bottle of clean water on hand, set to a very fine mist. If the paint starts to dry out too quickly, just give it a spritz with the water....very lightly, very fine, not so much that its going to make the paint run, but just enough that it will keep your paint wet for as long as you need it.

    Clouds are never just white tones on blue. There are so many more colours in the blue of the skys and in the white of the clouds. Using just two colours for a backdrop sky makes it dull and very unrealistic.

    Just like I did my backdrop. When butting 2 panels together, use Liquid Nails for Foam Projects. Place calk in the crack seam and feather out, not very wide. Will stay plyable and your panel crack will become seamless, after you touch it up with your blue paint.
    Also when turning an inside corner, often times the 2 panels are not plumb. This will fill in that joint difference seamlessly.

    Could you give the exact paint color name please?

    • @ModelRailroadAcademy
      @ModelRailroadAcademy  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry, I don’t have a color name for you. For my backdrop I used “quiet rain” as I didn’t want to “perfect” a sky color. Your layout lighting will affect the backdrop color that you choose.
