I've just started doing this myself. . . , sending off my first box of goodies to a friend; stuff I know I won't use . . . she's ecstatic . . . and so am I! win/win!
I have the same problem! It is on my list to reorganize my she shed and get rid of some stuff. I would love to see a full tour of your studio!! Thanks for sharing 😊
Oh Doreen, it is good to know that I am not alone! How does all this stuff accumulate?! Even now I am struggling to let go of random paper that I have not used in 5+ years. The "what if" is real. On another note I have been thinking of doing an updated studio tour as the last one I did was in June 2023 so thanks for that suggestion.
Hi Pam, whilst you were showing your gessoed flash cards I thought they are a ready made journal. I would punch holes and slip them onto two ring clips. I would like the different ‘ page’ sizes. As they have gesso both sides the ‘ journal’ is ready to decorate in your own time. Great.
I have recently gone through my ephemera stash. It’s difficult to get rid of stuff! However I have STOPPED keeping stuff. It is really freeing not to keep every bit of paper, envelope or cereal box! Let’s see how long I can keep it up!
Oh Carol, I can so relate to you. Why oh why do I feel compelled to keep every bit of paper?! It is freeing to purge. I now try to ask myself, "Can I replace this? Do I have access to more?" that seems to help my compulsion. Glad to know I'm not alone!
Well! That's a coincidence! I'm sorting through all my studio ephemera and resources whilst we are having the decking replaced. So I know exactly where you are coming from - not sure how much will be thrown away but some can go to the charity/thrift shop. have enough "stuff" to last till I die!!! thanks for your vid.
Omg i have the same problem with keeping things, not using them because I think ill never have it again 😭 i have a ton of fabrics too, which I was able to let go of . I don't even miss it anymore. But I know i must use up my ephemera and not hoard them!!
Maria, you are definitely my ephemera kindred----holding on and saving and not using. What is wrong with us?! I also have fabric that I occasionally reach for and currently, the large bin is overflowing, like the lid won't close. I guess that is my next organizational project!

That is such a good idea to share with a friend like that!! I agree it is a win-win!

What a great idea Pauline!! I may have to give that a try--thanks for sharing!
those large cards with all the letters and hidden words are for the board game version of Wheel of Fortune!
This makes me so happy that you knew what those cards were!! Thanks for letting me know.

I'm glad to know that it is not just me!! We creatives tend to be collectors and gatherers and borderline hoarders!! Good luck with the organizing!

You have cooooool ephemera….
Thanks Cheryl! I love the thrift store as I never know what I might discover.
Just purged and I don't have a ton of stuff, but it was getting out of control (whicj.no kne really had anyway.)
Oh Linda, I can relate--sometimes it isn't about too much but about the chaos of the stuff! Hope you've got things organized now!
