Ghost logic: I will kill random people until one of them solves an overly complicated puzzle and stop the serial killer that killed me so no one else will have to die!
kash smith i guess this goes with the whole "i'm a hemophiliac and i like to play at a steel MILL" logic . glad they didn't fuck that continuity up atleast
kash smith That's like the plot of my fan fiction Horror story! The only addition is in my story, when the ghost wants to increase the kill count, she puts a girl with psychic powers in the city that is being hunted by black ops soldiers.
I couldn't hear The Doctor's line about finding a leading lady at the beginning, so I turned on the captions. This being TH-cam, I expected the captions to either not pick up dialogue from the movie footage or to do so very poorly...But then I remembered that creators can make their own captions for their videos and that Phelous takes everything into consideration when making his videos and the captions came out perfectly, even assigning The Doctor's name to his dialogue! Phelous, you're a national treasure! I don't know to what nation you belong, but they're lucky to have you! Also rude of Cyborg Cat to steal Phelous' Silent Hill and then throw it away...Oh, and killing him was probably out of line too...No, wait, I remember seeing The Ruins. That movie was nasty and so is Phelous for showing that scene in his review of it.
the part with the guy and the cigarette is one of my favorite jokes of yours ever and i'm helping my mom quit smoking so i arrange her cigarettes like "this many this week, this many week after" less and less and when i count them out i ALWAYS think of this video haha :'D stupid little girls and their balls and their background music!
As a hemophiliac I can say they screwed up( the movie, not phelous. Phelous kicks ass). First off, while girls can get hemophilia , it's extremely rare. Second " the tiniest scratch could kill her. ". I have what's referred to as severe hemophilia. I have less than 1% clotting factor. Basically, if i get cut I don't heal very well unless I receive factor( it's an injection I need. Big pain in the ass), or sometimes I'll bleed in my muscles or joints, which is where I have most of my problems. Basically, using the ankle as an example, it's similar to having a sprained ankle. I have to be off my feet, or the pain will be worse( again, if I get my factor it corrects itself in a day or so). This is going to long so I'll finish up. The tiniest scratch won't kill me. If I cut myself with, say an exacto knife putting models together( actually happened once). It'll take forever to heal right, but it won't kill me, especially if I'm taking factor. However in this movie they make it seem as though getting a damn paper cut is all it takes to kill a hemophiliac. If you're making a movie and you're addressing a disease in it in some form or another, do your damn research on how these things actually work.
Exacta. I guess since it's so rare people don't know AS much, but as I said, if you're addressing a disease in a movie, fiction or no, it's wise to get your ducks in a row
Mike White I just wanted to say that I really appreciate your informative comment on hemophilia - not that I know anyone that has the disease, but I might meet someone who does have it one day and then it'd be nice to know a little bit about it beforehand :-)
"So I found the location of a notorious serial killer...no don't send a SWAT team just one plain clothes detective will do..." Movie cops are pretty stupid.
I remember seeing the cover of this movie every time I went to Blockbuster as a kid, and it always scared the shit out of me... Obviously my parents never let me watch it, and I forgot about it after a couple years... What a shame that the movie is shite, lol!! Cheers for the great review.
It's like they wanted to make a horror movie about the deep web - and failed. I mean, a horror movie about the deep web could be pretty scary, but this movie is just crap.
If there was a deep web movie, the second they brought up red rooms, shadow web, hitmen, and hackers, even if it was a horror movie, I'd get so pissed of how fake it was.
Is the Marianas Web an actual term or did you just make that up? Because that is brilliant. Also I imagine at the deepest core of the Web there is probably a Lovecraftian horror that the U.S. Military captured.
The front of the dvd package of this shit is literally the most ferocious fear I've ever experienced, her black unsymmetric eyes and that thing I thought was a deformed lip, literally made me want to sleep on my brother's room until I got 14, now is pathetic how I tell everyone my childhood fear was feardotcom
18:39- I wonder how many times Jeffrey Combs has had that thought, he's been a welcome presence in so much cinematic drivel and deserves SO much better.

+Hromovlad1 And Hell Girl is pretty good...when the episodes involved someone taking revenge and had to live with the fact that when they die, they will be sent to hell, just like the people they sent.
The Ring novel had the decency to feature a pretty decent investigation and a cast one could feel sympathy towards (journalist screws up, doesn't want his children to be orphans, so does everything in his power to calm the ghost down, helped by a kind and smart friend). All that came later is ripoffs-cash grabs
What's up with the lights in this movie? I get it, movie, you're trying to be scary. But scenes where I can't see a fricking thing don't equal building up suspense ore creating an atmosphere.
There's no movie like a good Internet-Horror movie... wait, take out the "movie like a". There's no good Internet-Horror movie, that's what I meant to say
I had major "The Ring" feels while watching this movie. Honestly, they tried to scare me but... I then start falling asleep a lot through the movie playing. Lol
This was another funny review you did Phelous, especially the guy Cigarette guy getting killed. Waiting on you to post your Troll 2 review, love that one.
I know it's bad but I actually love this movie, maybe due to nostalgia because I first saw it when I was 13. I wish someone more competent would completely remake this movie except keep Stephen Rea as The Doctor.
Even if she didn't have hemophilia why let a little girl play alone and unattended at an abandoned Steel Mill??? I used to get chewed out for going miles into the woods and visiting an old Log Cabin (authentic pioneer one abandoned for over a hundred years). Yet this little girl gets to play at steel mills?
I swear Stephen Dorff has died at the end of every movie I've ever seen him in. The guy just can't catch a break :-P Seriously though, "FearDotCom" does have some entertainment value if you're into riffing on stuff. It really is as mindbogglingly stupid as the review points out, no exaggeration there.
The director said the movie was intended to have a surreal, dreamlike quality to it. Things aren't supposed to make complete sense or be reflective of reality, e.g. how no one's on the streets.
I like any video that uses the word "aforementioned" in the first minute of run time. I don't know why. It's just the one rule I have whenever I sign onto youtube.
Its scary how much this movie is just like The Ring. Even though this movie did come out before The Ring( a whole month) and after Ringu it cant even top those movie. The Ring was scary based on how unnerving it was and not on gore.

kind of have to respect Sadako for being all: "No, I just want to kill people."
This is why it works better when the context is the ghost isn't in control, what killed them simply made than become an evil spirit
We should set up a camera in Pehlous' room. When he logs out, we all unsubscribe, and when he logs back in, we all start resubscribing.

I couldn't stop laughing at the commentary over the whole cigarette sequence XD
A Canadian imitating Stephen Rea doing a cover of 'Every Breath You Take'.
Thank you, Internet.
Thought it was Phelous doing an imitation of Nick Cage trying a British accent.

I remember seeing the posters and billboards thinking it looks pretty scary. Guess not.
Phelan's voice-over of the smoking dude always fucking kills me.
Phelous you silly programmer, the website isn't made with Flash, it's pure HTML writing in binary and energies.
The Dragon Warrior reference is priceless. Now I wonder if Phelous was actually playing through the game just to get to that part.

I think I actually find your "re-imaginings" of copyrighted music you had in the videos previously to be more comedic than the originals. :)
DuffinCaprous Thanks! I kinda like that more as well. It feels like more of a joke than just using a clip of a song so it works out.
Same here. They come off as even funnier this way than just playing the actual clip!
+DuffinCaprous My favorite is when Phelan sings "Whole new world" in Aladdin with the "I will be your hero" for Silent Hill 2 in second place.
