I am a German Catholic and I am really ashamed of how most (not all of them) of the German Bishops spit into our Lord's face. Together with Rev. Calvin I strongly hope that Pope Francis will punish these guys. The sooner the better.

Eleven years ago at my former Roman Catholic parish, a visiting priest gave the Sunday Mass Homily. He tried to explain the Doctrine of the Trinity to the congregation in a human, understandable way.
He explained it as thus. To my father I am his son. To my nephew I am his uncle. To my parishioners I am their priest. I am all of these different persons to these people yet I am still the same man that you see. It sounded plausible. But much time later, my own research into ancient Christian heresies discovered that he had preached Sabellianism, an ancient heresy from the early centuries of Christianity. I don't know if that priest deliberately preached a heresy or if he was confused himself in trying to be beneficial to the congregation. If he keeps preaching that heresy, his bishop would need to know that.

It took someone outside our Church to speak up to the truths of the Lord's commandments. It took courage - real courage to speak boldly for Christ. Many of our Shepherds have lost the understanding of sin.
It's breaking my heart...not what the Germans are doing so much as the unresponsiveness of Rome.

The approach of compassion, kindness, and a collective acknowledgement that "we are all sinners, and I am no better than you" can go a long way to lowering defensiveness in those that must hear some difficult words regarding sinfulness. As someone who only relatively recently came back to faith, I can tell you that those on the outside looking in are looking for a faith that doesn't change with the seasons, or on a whim, but whose values and traditions are immune to the centuries and the ages because they point to a reality outside of the age, outside of time and creation. An ever present, ever loving and holy God who through his Son brings a peace that passes all understanding. We want THAT.

I am a german catholic and I'm shocked by our bishops and the people who work in our church. There is a massive crisis of faith in Germany, due to protestantism and secularity. Many bad teachers and priests didn't teach catholic truth for decades. Many young people nowadays think, that sex means love and love (=sex) is all to aim for.
This is not the Protestants fault. We have the same problem around here. Martin Luther didn't wsnt to split the Church snd if he would see all of the modern churches he would have to vomit from disgust. We are all losing our faith and our roots and Christians should sll stand together regardless of Lutherans, Catholics, Orthodox or Reformed.

Being a Catholic in Germany is just so tireing. I am this close 🤏🏻 to converting to orthodoxy. It hast gotten so bad to the point where continuing to be a catholic here, in itself, feels like heresy. I can't do this anymore. Lord Help me.

I don’t know where you are in Germany but I do know that the Institute of Christ the King has mission(s) there and they’re very faithful. I respect the Orthodox but please don’t leave Christ’s Church.
I am literally shivering right now, I have recently thought of the origin/source of the sexual revolution and I managed to reason it back to contraception. Everyone that I spoke with about this issue criticized me for believing this, saying that sex is used for intimacy. I found it erroneous because a Godly relationship does not have sex as it's foundation and saying that sex should be used fore something else than procreation opens the doors to many unholy things. I am glad to see I am not the only only one who hold this position. God bless.

I was just thinking the same thing the other day. Since then the Church of England has gone from bad to worse. Contraception led to permissiveness. Permissiveness led to abortion. Abortion is the greatest crime that cries to heaven fir vengeance. Vengeance is mine says the Lord. And soon it will descend. If sin goes up to heaven it can't nter and so, it is sent back to earth in the form of chastisement from Gos. Gwants to renew the earth, but this earth is so corrupt that a lot of cleansing has to be done; a lot of filth has to be washed away or burnt up.

Everything that leads to sin as a direct consequence should be condenm, for it does not make sense to condenm sin without condening the direct causes of sin.
The sexual revolution, rise of pornograph and sexual degeneracy, the dessacration of marriage, all would not be possible without contraception, because contraception is what allowed sex to be separated from conception.
Once sex was united with conception, carnal pleasure could never be seen as its final purpose, therefore, it was clear to everyone why fornication is wrong, it is deviating sex from its natural purpose, that is, the conception of life, but contraception transforms sexual intercourse into a primary carnal source of pleasure, and children as only an accidental possibility easly avoidable at will, all the higher and selfless purposes taken away. What the traditional view on sex aims for is transforming every human action into a sacred act, that has a higher purposes than only ourselves, aiming for the common good of nation (rising the next generation that will safeguard the prosperity of the nation), our families, and by extent, the will of God. We understand that everything has a purpose, a meaning, which means that we cannot do whatever we want, as our actions have consequences and we have a duty to fullfil.
Great to hear an Anglican minister decry women priests - its not about sexism but simply the action of Jesus - he had women followers but He did not appoint any of them Apostles and in fact, St Paul was quite explicit that women should not be heard in Church

It's great that the Rev. Calvin Robinson as a protestant anglican accepts the ancient and perennial apostolic position on contraception and sees how it's use due to the normalisation of it by anglicans in the 30s has fostered the wicked and destructive sexual revolution.

Those who belong to that Church are Christians, those who make up their own churches and follow their own desires regarding salvation are not. The first one to refer to Christ's Church as "Catholic" was Bishop Saint Ignatius of Antioch around 100AD.

@Kaylee Prince There is an enormous difference between civilly separating and saying that the Sacramental bond of marriage is broken or dissolved. If there is grave and irreparable harm to one or both spouses, the Church acknowledges that the couple can separate on the civil level (living apart, etc.), but the Sacramental bond is only dissolvable by death. Therefore, if they separate civilly, in that sense they can leave an unhappy marriage, but no human power can dissolve the Sacramental bond.
Annulment are a God given authoritative process given to the Church. The Church has the power to bind and loose. The problem is not the very issue of nullifying marriages its how much of these are being done. The process of Annulment is to see if there was a valid marriage in the first place.

I can't find the source now, but some years ago I read an article about Gandhi's response to the Anglicans allowing contraception. He said it would disconnect the sex act from procreation and would eventually lead to acceptance of homosexual behavior. Contraception enthusiasts countered that he was using a slippery slope argument, and that only a great fool could imagine a world where homosexual behavior was accepted.
