Just played RE4 again this week what a treat! Much much longer than most RE games, but thankfully RE4's DLC side campaign is the exact perfect short n' sweet few hours length you'd expect an RE game to be. Hell it could have been it's own game. RE4's whole DLC is what RE3 Remake should have been! Haha. Although RE4 has pushed only half the copies that the bestselling RE game of all time RE2 Remake has, RE4 has only been out since last year and is also the fastestseller among RE games so it'll catch up! :3
Oh thats awesome. How long did it take you to beat? I remember when they announced the 4 remake I kinda thought it wasn't necessary but to be fair it has been a long time since I played the og now. I know I bought it on at least 2 or 3 different consoles back in the day though 😂
@@davidblainescharizard my 1st playthrough was 30+ hours... But I think more impatient non-completionist/non-perfectionist players who don't have all day to waste on all the optional side stuff might be expected to beat it in 15-20ish hours instead? Players who memorize the fastest routes can beat it in 5 hours I heard for a trophy required to platinum. 4 seemed alot less necessary to remake than tank control ones. Though even my friend couldn't get back into og 4's controls that don't allow feet to move while aiming at the same time because both used the same directional controls but holding down the "aim" button toggled between them. Of course 4 remake has walking and aiming on separate control sticks now like all modern games ;3 For majority of casual gamers, 4 remake improves og in every way! However many og 4 purists who mastered the hardest mode "Professional" back in the day despised 4 remake for many changes that strayed too far from the original design they deemed a perfect masterpiece already. I can kind of understand some of their frustration how forced added randomness and variance of enemy unpredictability/unreliability could become a major headache when seeking gameplay consistency in the hardest modes. But for casual gamers who just play for the most fun, I can see why Capcom favored the idea of more unpredictable/random enemy a.i. because it always surprises players creating a rush of more emotional rollercoaster :3
Love how the RE2 Remake/sequels remade the original PS1 games to play more actiony RE4 style with modern controls XD And that players who know where to go / what to do already can beat each game in under 2 hours to unlock the infinite bonus wpns 😎 Tho RE4 Remake is at least 3-4x longer than either RE2R or RE3R, so it feels almost more action adventure RPG like Zelda (but with the right to bear arms) at that point lolol 😂
I wonder if capcom will ever do a RE1 in that style? I know the gamecube versions out there for the classic experience but it feels weird now that theyre doing all of these remakes. I remember the RE fanbase got really divided with 4 and 5 but I loved them. 6... well I finally got around to it a few years ago and it's not as bad as I was expecting based on the reviews and stuff.

RE2 Remake Claire was bestgirl in the best game ever! 😍 Which needs a *true* gameplay & story sequel for her so badly... as Code Veronica REmake! Take our 🤑 Capcom! Even Code Veronica remade as an RE4 gameplay "clone" would be better than nothing given how Capcom prioritizing AAAprofitablity trumps preserving survival horror game design roots these days. Like how REmak3 fans felt betrayed it became a generic action game instead but still oversold expectations.

That said I agree, where is that remake at? I have to think capcom will get to it but maybe they think it's too obscure?
