No other story (anime or not) comes even close to the amount of world building OP has. Oda takes his time presenting locations, politics and characters and it really pays off.
@@augustoalencar5851 Yeah the world building is on par with LOTR , Wheel of time . And world building is a wide concept, not just world design but also the connectivity of all the pieces on the board into a tightly knitted whole :D

While Oda is Goda, we also have to bow down to the animators who take his drawings and add so much more with colour and motion. 25 years of continuous epics just keeps adding more with every chapter. This show is so good that even when 4Kids bastardized it in the early naughties, it was still awesome. All fans can enjoy it no matter how long they have been a fan.
that's what distinguishes one piece from many manga and anime, it tells not only the story of the main character and his friends, but also the story of a huge world
There's genuinely nothing else like One Piece, the amount of detail, world building and the whole scale of the story is unmatched. Probably with how the anime and tv series industry works now, there probably won't be something like this for decades or maybe never again, it just doesn't pay off to do a 1000+ episodes series that was planned that way from the very beginning.
I remember like 9 years ago, when I saw One Piece for the first time, My thought was "this is weird but I like it", maybe it's not the most serious or realistic story, but the world and the characters are so well built that they make you want to know more . I definitely recommend you watch it, the number of episodes shouldn't be a problem, Cause' when you start watching it those 1000 caps will not be enough ;D As always very good reaction, thanks for your effort reacting to One Piece and have a nice day!
One Piece brings out so many emotions while watching it. Oda will have you thinking a throw away character is just that then turn it around and stick it to you and you'll never forget them. Then later they reappear and you see how much they've changed and the world around them has as well. Time after time. There are several scenes that every time I watch them I'll unashamedly cry big manly tears.
that's kinda why I'm glad one peice has a rule of "noone dies (except for when they do)", it creates opportunities for characters and for us to see how they change or how they make their mark on the world.
One Piece is much more than just an anime, it's a magical experience that takes you into a world of incredible fantasies, adventures and discovery, a gigantic story full of mysteries and life-changing events over the years.
Exactly, I’ve watched so many animes but nothing has ever made me want to shout from the rooftops how One Piece will literally change your life forever
this fan video exemplifies what I think is one of the core themes of one piece: "the world is beautiful". An adventure is worth as much as the places it leads you to. Even with tragedy and darkness, there is beauty in the world, waiting to be seen. That's the feeling One Piece makes you feel. Youa re jsut a small thing in this huge world, a world filled with incredible sights and places and things you could NEVER imagine, and isn't that WONDERFUL? One Piece is PEAK fantasy in my eyes.

For One Piece fans: I'm playing Legend of Heroes the Trails series right now. The world isn't comparable to the creativity of One Piece, but it's built really really good! If you're a gamer and like the world building of ONE PIECE I highly recommend this series of games. Zemuria is a world built with extreme detail across 12+ games and counting! You'll fall in love with a lot of townspeople NPCs! It's the only thing (so far) I experienced that felt this close to the style of One Piece in terms of world detail and foreshadowing across multiple "arcs."
One Piece is a phenomal testament to Oda's ability to write down a living, breathing world. For all the things that happens to the main characters, there's just about twice as much going on, behind the scenes. Movements for revolution, governmental conspiracies, plans of vengeance and treason, power struggles, alliances made and broken. All of it being interwoven into the story and lives of those we follow on this adventure, all leading up to that final climax, that is sure to come. At times, it feels like Oda isn't really even writing a story, but chronicling the events of a world he somehow has access to, and I'm here until that final panel is drawn!
there is nothing out there like the wonderful world of one piece that Oda has created. by far my absolute favorite show of all time. i can not even describe the amount of times this journey has made me laugh, made me cry and made me shout with excitement. this video is an excellent example, but its exactly that, an example. only a fraction of what this world has to offer. i implore you to throw caution to the wind and get going, because the one piece is waiting!

it's still scary to me that The Final Arc of One Piece is soon to be upon us, those who have been enjoying this world are going to have to say goodbye to it, that's really hard when you get into an Anime's world, and in One Piece it's only going to magnify that feeling a hundred fold.
Aside from my other comment, there is a video called Why You Should Read/Watch One Piece and it does an absolutely fantastic job of explaining the story and the appeal of One Piece, if you don't get to that video there is also one called The Appeal of One Piece which is also worth watching and sort of is like a prologue to that other video I mentioned
No other anime or manga comes close to the sheer level of world building and interconnectedness of ONE PIECE. Oda created a truly magnificent masterpiece that has gone down in history as one of the greatest series of All Time
I wish you react to the episodes of this wonderful story. You will have content for years on end. You will have a good time I promise you. It is full of adventure, intrigue, politics, heart felt emotions.
One Piece is one of those series I steer away from, however, I love the music, environmental storytelling, and the creatures. Mad respect to the author for making such a beautiful world.
No need to hesitate or consider it is too long. Start from ep 1-44 to see you are hooked or not. If not, give it up, if you really are hooked. You can catch up it within 2-4 months. Some people need 1 month, but I don't recommend it , you need to concern your health too. Most people can't stop watching until they catch up with the plot.
You should definitely also check out a video called One Piece The Greatest Story Ever Told! The story and world of one piece are some of the most fleshed out pieces of media in existence in my opinion
One piece belongs in the category of fictional worlds with things like Lord of the rings. it's an anime so it's not completely mainstream yet, but I consider it the single most built up and detailed fictional world in all of media, book, TV, or otherwise.
I love One Piece, no other work of any kind even comes close to the amount of world building and the feeling that the world lives and doesn't just revolve around our protagonists, but to be fair, a lot of the imagery in This video is not from the anime but from the movies, or from the specials that make arc summaries with much more budget and time than the weekly anime By the way I would love to see you react to the anime
Sit and watch One Piece, stick with it and you won’t regret it. The best story ever told, it’s the only one that’s changed my life. Watch at your pace unless you want to become a One Piece reactor, but of course be prepared for that to take years. Though it’s been incredible for channels as far as I’ve seen, that keep on a regular and decent size schedule of around 6-8 episodes a week. I’d just say enjoy it however you like if you want to watch it. Your reactions are great, thanks for the video!
Oda's world I put on par, if not better, than JRR Tolkien's world of Middle Earth. The lore is INTENSELY deep, the emotions run high, the characters are well written, but it's all given with fun humor and times that will make you bust out laughing. Hands down, one of the best shows and pieces of media to likely ever be written. The biggest problem for most new people is the length (1000+ episodes and chapters) and it's art style. If you like the style, jump right on in cause the show will be an emotional rollercoaster.
As an avid AoT/Naruto/Dragon Ball series fan, I can say without any hesitation that the plot of One Piece in its entirety will top any other animé (or any show/cinema/TV) when it reaches its conclusion. People talk about how 1000 episodes is too much. But let me just say this one quote that everyone who has been in this journey knows. :) “One Piece is not long. It's actually not long enough.”
you know i really wish in naruto we get to see the other villages fleshed out and see their cultures fleshed out like in one piece they do with all the locations
@@ahmadmanga if it makes money, then why end it the way you originally wanted? You can just squeeze it out of nothing for kids who will like it no matter what happens there. After all, you can build repetitive plot patterns, and make children spend time on 1000 episodes/chapters. It's just a good financial model.
I'm telling you One Piece is the best thing in fiction that ever got created i still to this day sometimes can't realize how fucking good this story is and I'm at Manga chapter 1066 and anime also caught up since 2 years and I'm still sometimes in shock what Oda(the mangaka) did there One Piece got the best Characters by faaar for me factually they GOT!! the best story ever written it goes deep I'm telling you also the best world building which is part of a good story imo they got the best power system which is Haki + Devil Fruits this show has the deepest and best backstorys I've ever seen ngl the by faaaaaaaaar best Main Character and one of the best villains I've ever seen too i can go on and on but I think you get it🐐😤😤🔥🔥🔥☠️
every location shown in this video has a name. if it has people, it has a culture and a system of government, usually a monarchy. for the islands the main characters actually visit, we have a lot more cohesive and in-depth histories and looks into their existence, but even for the ones relegated to single shots in backgrounds, we have names, inhabitants and cultures. alabasta, kingdom of sand, worships the falcon and the jackal, they are it's guardian deities. it is a hereditary monarchy ruled over by the nefertari family from the capital of alubarna and its primary exports include stone, weapons and, in good times, agricultural products. it has an ancient history going back at least a thousand years, and it borrows heavily from real-world later eras of ancient egypt in its styling and architecture. alabasta has 5 major cities we know of, each centered on a major water source, like the sea, the sandora river, or an oasis. the characters spend a week there. now imagine how in-depth it gets when you hear about a place for most of the story, like wano or fishman island.
You have to love or hate One Piece but there should be no person that has no emotions about this series. Especially if someone has tipped its toe in it. This series has something for everyone to offer. Visuals, various story plots, comedy, drama, tears and laughter. Real world history lessons like a high school course and much more. I follow this show for about 20 years and I find even now some new stuff in the first story arcs I have seen and read countless times. A single manga panel can tell stories for that other writers have to fill 15 or even 50 pages of text. There are so many references towards the real world. So many real places and people got their counterpart in this world. Famous actors, musicians, athletes as well as regional tales and folklore from around the world. I am embarrassed right now for not recognizing Albert Einstein as Vegapunk in the latest chapter. I was so stunned by the plot that I didn't see his caricature while drawn perfectly like in the famous photo. All those references alone make this work phenomenal. Then the many drama plots, slapstick comedy and the fight scenes. In every way a theme park of emotions. One Piece has so many layers. Therefore the treasure in the story isn't just adventure and friendship as well as other values the crew share but it is part of it. The One Piece manga is the treasue itself for all readers and viewers and for Oda himself as well. It is a phenomenon you can't describe in a few words and if I try then I say: "One Piece teaches about life and One Piece is life itself". I also recomment "The Appeal of One Piece: Where to Start" and "Why You Should Watch/ Read One Piece" by Super Eyepatch Wolf for more insight (the videos are 5 years old but pretty good with over a million of views each).
The appeal of one piece gives out some spoilers though. Especially the story about Senior Pink is something you should experience on your own. Didn’t like that he spoilered that.
Why im watching One Piece? Its because the strorytelling is masterpiece and world class build up story... What you saw in this breathtaking vid is just a slice of the set up for the crazy plot
As much as people praise Tolkien for his world building, Oda is every bit as good. Whenever you're with the main crew, other characters are doing their own things somewhere else, and Oda never forgets that. When characters get reintroduced, you can tell they've had their own big events happening while we haven't seen them. World-changing events happen without the crew knowing about them until after the fact because they weren't there.
First time I watch it there was only one Opening for the anime, hehehe. I never became less of a fan of the story. And the base line of the story the author Eichiro Oda has done as a kid, he watch some european viking cartoon when he was a kid where he took inspiration from, the adventure part at least.
The world of one piece is breathtaking. You should watch Why you should watch/read One Piece I think it still holds up and it has a good movie recommended later
If you’d like a more focused perspective on the phenomenon of one piece, and what actually makes it so good, i recommend the videos that Super Eyepatch Wolf has made about it, i think the first is called “Why You Should Watch/Read One Piece” or something like that. I think he’s made a couple about it, but you might prefer to hold off on the others if you’re concerned about spoilers. Either way, awesome vid, definitely glad i subscribed!

this video technically has tons of small spoilers but there's so much going on and you don't linger on a scene long enough to really figure out what's going on to really dissect the information unless you go really in to pick apart things at a near frame by frame pace
I thought it was goofy looking. Started watching anime back in 2007. I was watching Naruto and Bleach at the time, and what attracted me to anime was it was so different from western cartoons. So seeing one piece wich looked like another western cartoon I wrote it off as not as cool. It wasn't until I was in uni like 9 years later when I saw my roommate watching it, that i decided to actually see whats it about. It was in an arch when some serious stuff was happening and then it hit me like ohh it's not just some goofy looking cartoon like anime and i saw it past it's art style and for what it is. And I think tht was the case for alot of people too. Naruto and bleach was alot of peoples gateway anime and OP looked cartoonish.
One Piece art style and it's plot are complete opposites. As funny and cheerful the projections seems, the underlying themes are quite realistic and dark. This is unquestionably the pinnacle of world building in any fiction that ever existed.

Oda created a truly magnificent masterpiece that has gone down in history as one of the greatest series of All Time
One piece will go down as one of the best pieces of media ever not just anime.
the song is from the game the witcher but the world of one piece is just mindblowing
The Arlong Park arc got me hooked which is only episode 31-44. I recommend just watching it and posting arc reviews and reactions since it's so long.
The best video to make people want to begin One Piece
No need to hesitate or consider it is too long. Start from ep 1-44 to see you are hooked or not. If not, give it up, if you really are hooked. You can catch up it within 2-4 months. Some people need 1 month, but I don't recommend it , you need to concern your health too. Most people can't stop watching until they catch up with the plot.
You should definitely also check out a video called One Piece The Greatest Story Ever Told! The story and world of one piece are some of the most fleshed out pieces of media in existence in my opinion
Did you know the whole point Oda started One Piece was to make people laugh and feel happy?
This video is so amazing, it's like a religious revelation. Especially if you know some or all of it. 🤩🤯
One of the best stories ever told already, and it still has much more to offer in this last saga ahead !
Such a genuine reaction. Loved it man
One piece belongs in the category of fictional worlds with things like Lord of the rings. it's an anime so it's not completely mainstream yet, but I consider it the single most built up and detailed fictional world in all of media, book, TV, or otherwise.
Most of those locations are from the Canon story or manga covers. A lot are also from anime only filler episodes.
I've been watching one piece since 2003 ))
Thanks for reacting to this! You are amazing man. love all the reactions
I love One Piece, no other work of any kind even comes close to the amount of world building and the feeling that the world lives and doesn't just revolve around our protagonists, but to be fair, a lot of the imagery in This video is not from the anime but from the movies, or from the specials that make arc summaries with much more budget and time than the weekly anime
By the way I would love to see you react to the anime
Sit and watch One Piece, stick with it and you won’t regret it.
The best story ever told, it’s the only one that’s changed my life.
Watch at your pace unless you want to become a One Piece reactor, but of course be prepared for that to take years. Though it’s been incredible for channels as far as I’ve seen, that keep on a regular and decent size schedule of around 6-8 episodes a week.
I’d just say enjoy it however you like if you want to watch it.
Your reactions are great, thanks for the video!
The whale tree is amazing. But the place where it is is surely even more so.
"People's dreams never end" -Marshall D Teach (Blackbeard) who never sleeps... interesting... 🤔
“One Piece is not long. It's actually not long enough.”
you know i really wish in naruto we get to see the other villages fleshed out and see their cultures fleshed out like in one piece they do with all the locations
There is no narrative plot, just repeating arcs with the same pattern.
The fact the manga is in the final saga (and Oda comments it's ending in 3 years, but who believes his predictions anymore?) is so bittersweet.
@@AlexeyDesign well, it is, but when it's one person drawing it all these years, it's not sustainable to do it forever.
One Piece is the Indisputable KING of World Building.... NO ONE does it better.
I'm telling you One Piece is the best thing in fiction that ever got created i still to this day sometimes can't realize how fucking good this story is and I'm at Manga chapter 1066 and anime also caught up since 2 years and I'm still sometimes in shock what Oda(the mangaka) did there One Piece got the best Characters by faaar for me factually they GOT!! the best story ever written it goes deep I'm telling you also the best world building which is part of a good story imo they got the best power system which is Haki + Devil Fruits this show has the deepest and best backstorys I've ever seen ngl the by faaaaaaaaar best Main Character and one of the best villains I've ever seen too i can go on and on but I think you get it🐐😤😤🔥🔥🔥☠️
Fun fact: Currently, One Piece has more than 1390 named canon characters.
every location shown in this video has a name. if it has people, it has a culture and a system of government, usually a monarchy. for the islands the main characters actually visit, we have a lot more cohesive and in-depth histories and looks into their existence, but even for the ones relegated to single shots in backgrounds, we have names, inhabitants and cultures.
alabasta, kingdom of sand, worships the falcon and the jackal, they are it's guardian deities. it is a hereditary monarchy ruled over by the nefertari family from the capital of alubarna and its primary exports include stone, weapons and, in good times, agricultural products. it has an ancient history going back at least a thousand years, and it borrows heavily from real-world later eras of ancient egypt in its styling and architecture. alabasta has 5 major cities we know of, each centered on a major water source, like the sea, the sandora river, or an oasis.
the characters spend a week there. now imagine how in-depth it gets when you hear about a place for most of the story, like wano or fishman island.
Happy to see your One Piece reactions. I'll gladly support you if you decide to watch!
Basically the Deal with One Piece is this:
1. Give it about to years to catch up.
2. The rest of your life will be better.
one piece world building & story is unmatched, cant wait till you react to this 😮💨
People's dream never end!!!
This kinda made me think of Mikasa’s quote about the world being cruel also extremely beautiful.
You must check "The appeal of one piece: where to start"
One Piece is not an anime. It is an Epic Fantasy
Gazmashcuts! You should watch the geography of the world of one piece
React to: the appeal of one piece by super eyepatch wolf 🙏🙏👍😁👍
I hope you DO decide to react to the show. it's incredible!!
"It's not flying, It's just falling with style" was that a buzz lightyear reference? 😆
Subbed. One piece is the greatest anime/manga of all time
4:40 GazMASH: obviously extinct, right?
Me: ...
GazMASH: Right?!
LMAO I thought the same 😆
If you watch the anime, you will visit most of the places they showed😁☺
& all that came from the mind of one man.
Obviously took inspiration from the real world but still... one man put it together
U should also check out 'One Piece- The greatest story ever told'. Amazing vid
One Piece is the greatest story ever told by man or god.
I am crying even if i watched it already😭😭😭
The world of one piece is breathtaking. You should watch Why you should watch/read One Piece I think it still holds up and it has a good movie recommended later
If you’d like a more focused perspective on the phenomenon of one piece, and what actually makes it so good, i recommend the videos that Super Eyepatch Wolf has made about it, i think the first is called “Why You Should Watch/Read One Piece” or something like that. I think he’s made a couple about it, but you might prefer to hold off on the others if you’re concerned about spoilers. Either way, awesome vid, definitely glad i subscribed!
Please React to ( Is Starting One Piece Still Worth It In 2022? ) by Ohara. It is a video like ( The Appeal Of One Piece ) but more up-to-date and it points out several good things about the series One Piece that the other video doesn't while avoiding spoilers as much as possible. It might even convince you to start the series.
Next up the video "The appeal of One Piece"
please watch ''WARNING: DO NOT READ ONE PIECE by Mother's Basement''
is a really good video showcasing all the point on why one piece is so amazing and the real life impact the series have in the world.
this video technically has tons of small spoilers but there's so much going on and you don't linger on a scene long enough to really figure out what's going on to really dissect the information unless you go really in to pick apart things at a near frame by frame pace
Absolute peak
Not all of the locations shown are from the anime there are also many from the movies

One Piece art style and it's plot are complete opposites.
As funny and cheerful the projections seems, the underlying themes are quite realistic and dark.
This is unquestionably the pinnacle of world building in any fiction that ever existed.
the best anime ever made
