I think he is left-handed? And maybe that's why his high-heat is on the other side? That's normally the case when I see a drummer with the drums set up like that. Love that song. I've seen them 6 times live, throughout the years. Including the Fear Inoculum tour. They are always AMAZING live. Keep up the good work brother. Cool name! I'm Johnny G. Haha. 😆🤘
johnny g He’s talked about the hi-hat location in various interviews over the years. He experimented with the positioning of the hi-hat to create a more ambidextrous approach. Initially, he wasn’t happy with the pedal feel of this position and he went back to a more traditional location. So one can only assume he’s now happy with whatever pedal setup he has. Even in this video he uses both hands on the hi-hat at various points.
Great reaction bro, been waiting for you to come back to Tool! There are other drum cams of Danny Carey but they were recorded during the Lateralus tour in 2001/2002 so the qualities not amazing but they are mind blowing still, all of them are on his website DannyCarey.org would love too see your react to Triad Parts 1 and 2 (one song but split into two videos on his website)
Maynard was searching for his mind, like everyone else after that performance
I really don't know how anyone could be considered more talented than Danny. As great as this band is he still stands out.
Great review, more than just "that's awesome dude" lol
And this man will be 59 years old in may of this year.

Thanks for all the cool info guys! :) Really interesting that he's been experimenting with the Hi hat location throughout the years.
