I’ve been a Tool fan for quite a while. I would say their earlier sound was a little different; a bit more aggressive. But this song (“Pneuma”) is very emblematic of their sound as of the past couple of decades, and what most people now know them for. It’s a good mix between their “catchier” songs and their more experimental ones. Good songs to start with from their catalogue are probably “Schism”, “Forty Six & 2”, “Vicarious”, “Stinkfist”, and “Jambi”. “Sober” is a good taste of their very early sound. One thing I’d recommend though is to just do the music/audio, not music videos, on first listen. This is because their official music videos are really works in their own right, and trying to fully experience both at the same time can be a bit daunting and/or confusing. Really great reaction though - hope you continue to explore!
Some songs by Tool you may want to listen to are: 1. Pushit live Salival 2. Right in Two 3. Wings for Marie 1&2 4. No Quarter live Salival 5. The Pot 6. The Grudge 7. 46&2 8 Invincible 9. 7empest 10. Sober
If you loved that than you're In for a treat. Tool is probably the greatest and most unique band on the planet. They're really amazing and everything they've ever done is amazing for 30 years and still going. Their music will move you emotionally in many directions in the course of a single song. I envy you just discovering them. Tool is a gift to this planet
Putting you on a journey - that sounds exactely like the Tool experience. Glad you liked it this so much, 'cause you're in for a treat. Favorite song by them? I've been listening for 15 years and still can't choose. They haven't done a single bad song on any of their albums in my opinion. If you'd put a gun to my head and asked I'd probably say Vicarious, Stinkfist or Third Eye. Ha, at least that's a top 3 for today. :-D Oh and as someone else mentioned, stick to the audio versions for a first listen.
Danny Carey is 59yrs old and is still a beast on the drums. You said watching him play it seemed like he had 8 arms. He's known as The Octopus. You will find most of their songs take you on a journey. Loved your reaction and subbed to see what you do next.✌
Enjoyed your reaction! Danny Carey ...ten times voted the World's Best Drummer. So focused! So good! I wondered how he can reach both sides of a drum set so big ..at the same time. Then I found out he is 6ft 5 inches in height. That'll do it!! 😆
@@tahoe_1353 That's sad dude. I have seen them 6 times now in my life and it was always a blast. Fist was 1992 as support of Rage Against The Machine. The first and ever time I saw a support act being asked to do an encore... last time was last year and the show they put on now is fu...' awesome! The light and the sound.... dude, there is no band like TOOL. Greets from Germany!
@@ingobordewick6480 That must have been epic. I was always a Metallica head, I have seen them so many times, but not Tool. Definitely next time, though! Tool just makes you feel something different inside. Stay safe!!
👽WELCOME TO THE TOOL ARMY 👽 TOOL has a very unique way of tapping into your subconscious, they literally take you on a musical journey. Thank you so much for appreciating such an amazing and again very unique band. NEW SUB AND LIKED!!!
TOOL is unique in that all of their songs are works of art. They all have a purpose and sometimes will have multiple meanings depending on the listener. You should try Lateralus next. Just a simple request from a new subscriber. 😄
Hey great reaction, you'll feel this way after all Tool songs by the way. I have a feeling you would fall in love with Tool Pushit Live Salival version. It hits you right in the feels!
That's Tool, lovely lady. Their new album is a bit smoother. They can definitely transport you. I think "right in two" would be right up your alley! You will love it me thinks. P. S. if you do review it I'd suggest just the song version, no distracting video. All the best.
Great visceral reaction If you want to have another out of body experience try “Reflection”. You will definitely get back into an out of body trance like state. Also Wings for Marie 1&2.
love this song .. its not for everybody .... but for me . this is an awesome song ... edit : oh wow .. this is a live version .. this will be my first time hearing this then .... Tool for me is more of a studio band ... edit2 : not bad ... sounded better than what i thought it would ... impressive ...
It's a drum cam because what Danny Carey the drummer does is pure insanity. Try counting 1-2-3-1-2-3 one one hand and 1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4 on the other. Except he adds two more rhythms with his feet. Great reaction, but this video is best reacted to by drummers imo, who gets how insanely difficult this is to do.
You should try some Genesis. Not that it’s like Tool really, aside from being similarly transporting. I would love to suggest some of the live medleys, but apparently they get blocked, so everyone reacts to the studio albums. I would suggest maybe these songs to start with: The Cinema Show Firth of Fifth In the Cage Supper’s Ready (beware: 23 minutes long, all of them worth it)
