You know it's funny because when Blue Diamond takes him as a piece of Pink Diamonds legacy, it was really true because he actually knew her and loved her and created a half gem/half human with her.
And he was the one who kinda caused the end of her life.

Yes, she DID "kidnap" Greg...but it was more along the lines of saving him. She thought the earth was going to be destroyed soon and decided to "rescue" him. Out of the same sympathy for earth creatures Pink D once had.
Not to mention that she may or may not be on edge with Yellow, after the trial

...I have a theory as to how gems can speak English. Or, well, communicate with humans in general.
They've been around since the beginning of the human race. Perhaps the humans overhead them speaking for the millennia they spent on the planet. They could've began to learn the language of the gems. WE don't speak our own language.
...WE SPEAK THE GEM LANGUAGE.

Well, I know that it's just for the plot device. But what I'm saying is that Gems were around before humans even had language. Maybe human language branched off what was heard from Gems speaking. I'm not saying that's for a FACT, I'm just speculating. :)
It'd be cool to think about, too, especially with how humans and gems share some words. Like in Latin, how "Geo" means "mineral/earth." And how gems use it in terms of "Geoweapon." Same definition.
