I am a former SDA now taking the OCIA classes with the intent on becoming Catholic. I am learning a lot. So much of EG White’s writings were heavily influenced by the rabidly anti Catholic No Nothing political movement that began in the 1840s in New England.
I used to be Baptist, but have now found the True Remnant Church of God, the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Rev 12:17; Rev 14:12 Which Keeps the Commandments of God, and has the Testimony of Jesus Christ, which is the Spirit of Prophecy. Rev 19:10. I'm sorry that you were never Grounded in your Precious Faith which you gave up, and were Shaken and Sifted Out. Read, "The Great Controversy" Book by Ellen G. White.
🗨 Beem Couple 🗨 Let's see if I understand you correctly 🤔 So SDAs are supposed to get excited about millions of Catholics who can't take a stand - a stand neither for the BIBLICAL Sabbath nor the Pagan Sunday Sabbath. Is this what you're expecting from SDAs? This is what Rev 3 refers to as lukewarm: Stand for Sunday and you're cold. Stand for Sabbath and you're smoking HOT 🔥 Stand for both and you're lukewarm. Didn't Jesus say it would be better to be cold than lukewarm? Didn't Jesus say that if you're neither hot nor cold, I'd vomit you out of my mouth? So you're expecting SDAs get all excited by the lukewarm Pagans, correct? Please let me know if I missed something my dear pagan friends!
This is so great. The vibe I’ve always gotten from Adventists is that other people don’t keep the sabbath “correctly” even if they go to church on Saturday.
That's for pointing this out...mass is done several times during the week...but what do they teach about it? Attitude and theology... don't catholics teach this? When you do to confession.. what happens? Who is and is not eligible to participate in holy eucharist?
The Catholic Church wants Christ to be worshipped every single minute of every single day. So that is why we worship daily and as the world turns, each hour will have some Catholic somewhere worshipping. It's a beautiful thing!
Important to remember that Ellen White was re-baptized into the anti-Trinitarian church (after receiving trinitarian baptism by the Methodists). The primary reasons SDA’s discount Catholics and other Christians worshipping on Saturday is that those Christian’s believe that Jesus is God Himself while SDA’s reject that idea.
That is not true. While many of our pioneers were anti-trinitarian, Ellen White was, at least in her later years, trinitarian. She calls Jesus "God" over and over in her book "the Desire of Ages". She calls the Holy Spirit "the third person of the Godhead". She was clearly a trinitarian. (There is one quote, which says, "the man Christ Jesus was not the Lord God almighty, but from eternity past, he was one with the Father", but that was probably a poor choice of words. She clearly called Jesus "the Lord your God" and "the Lord God of hosts" in the Desire of Ages. [DA 382.1; DA 579.2] So in the strange quote, she probably meant, that Jesus is not the same person as the Father, but one with him as the second person of the Trinity. Because she called the Father "the Lord God almighty", it looks as if she's saying that Jesus isn't God. But again, she clearly called him God in the Desire of Ages.)
@@arthurandteresabeem7142 You didn't know it because it isn't true. Only a small minority of SDAs deny, that Jesus is God. In the beginning, many SDAs came from the antitrinitarian Christian Connexion, but Ellen White herself was a Trinitarian. She didn't write about the Trinity in the beginning, but in the 1890s, she started to become very clear. Especially in the book "the Desire of Ages", she calls Jesus God multiple times, and she calls the Holy Spirit the third person of the Godhead. However, as far as I understood it, our view of the Trinity is a bit different than the Catholic view. As far as I know, and please correct me if I'm wrong, Catholics believe, that the Father eternally begets the Son, and the Father and the Son together breathe out the Holy Spirit. In our view, Jesus does not get his life from the Father, but he is an original source of life just like the Father. Ellen White writes in the Desire of Ages, page 530: In Christ is life, original, unborrowed, underived. “He that hath the Son hath life.” The divinity of Christ is the believer's assurance of eternal life.
The Sabbath Commandment says to KEEP It HOLY. Going to a building for a couple of hours, does not constitute KEEPING It HOLY. God MADE Only ONE Day HOLY, the 7th Day Sabbath. You Can Not KEEP HOLY a Day that God did Not MAKE HOLY in the First Place. And, God is a Jealous God, He will Not Share your Alligance with Anyone else.
So how do Adventists keep Saturday holy? Adventists teach that there will be a time when Catholics will try and stop Adventists from going to church on the 7th day. Also, Adventists tell us that the 3 Angels' message is the eternal gospel given to Adventists for the last day test of keeping Sabbath by worshipping. Isn't it GREAT that there are people who are worshipping on the 7th day? Whether perfect or not, Adventists are hardly perfect at keeping the Sabbath holy either. Shouldn't Adventists feel grateful that Catholics ARE worshipping on the 7th day?
Look all I know is the the rabbinics of 2000 years ago honored sabbath in thier man made traditional way. I would assume the same would be done in a spiritual sense today.
Do you mean those who keep the sabbath "spiritually" would end up making a bunch of man-made rules? Let me know what you meant if that isn't a correct.
@@arthurandteresabeem7142 yes but in the sense of trying to assume GODS work rather than doing HIS will on earth. I believe this is why Jesus didn't really express "how" to remember the sabbath day. GOD works on us as individuals therefore how we each will "remember" and show other to remember will be different to each individual testimony and conviction.
First SDAs will say you need to keep the Sabbath....if you are a doing so in a non adventist setting then its not enough! You need to also believe the unique teachings of the organization and conform to that lifestyle. The roots of the system stays that is how one is made right with God. How ridiculous!
Yes, EGW says people will become Adventist in the last days. It's not enough to keep the Sabbath and pass the Sabbath test. You have to believe ALL the 3 Angels' message.
There is no way to know how many Catholics worldwide attend mass on Saturday. If you have an idea where we could go to find that information, let us know.
Yes but they are none practicing... unless they are Latino or recent immigrants .. my Grandfather raised all 7 of his children as catholic. None practice today. Most as just apostate... they don't go to mass or confession... but still... they place Sunday over the Sabbath which is why we have so many blue laws in America and Europe.
Many Catholic Churches have morning mass. The vigil mass is before sundown on Sabbath most of the year. Only during winter months would it be after Sabbath.
U can say the same about catholics...especially after Vatican II. How observant are most modern American Catholics? Sone Adventist still believe in the Sunday mark.. some don't.

Exactly. Christians ignore that fact that staying unified WAS a commandment of Christ.
