Emily, I would love to see a “I’m feeling down in the dumps, here’s what I do to self care with my skincare and makeup.” So pulling out all of the products that give you that self care feeling- could be the application, could be the result, could be the color (hello, blush!), could be because it is expensive, etc. I’m interested to know what these products are for you and also the video itself would be self care for so many of us! Let's hear it for the sponge-tip applicators! I still use those, especially for shimmers. And Almay is a little sister to the Revlon products, so back in the day, I bought up all the lip butters in both lines. Fig Jam was my jam! Whatever happened to those? Can you do a video on lippie products that might give that same look and feel? Maybe just a short? Thanks for today's look; sometimes, simplest is best!

Have you tried the Revlon ColorStay Satin Ink liquid lipsticks? I'd love to see them compared to the Maybelline Vinyl Inks!
Those to me are definitely long lasting more so better than the rest of my lipsticks I own

Em, I would just like to say that the “reinforcing the curl” trick has been life changing for me! My lashes are naturally curly-ish but I find that a little boost just before my mascara dries has them staying up all day. Thank you!
You need to try the Hard Candy eye shadow primer. I used a tube completely up recently...really good...I think you would like it maybe as much as Milani...

What faded the most was the foundation, but all and all it looks acceptable at 15hrs. Im impressed by the blush and lipstick. The shadow did great too. I know that concealer breaks me out, so not for me, but it looked great.

I love Maybelline vinyl lip. I am wearing Royal right now and it's been on for about 12 hours. It's the ONLY liquid lip I've ever loved
I love the CoverGirl Outlast All Day Lip Color. It’s stays on all day and it has a top coat that won’t mess up it’s staying power while giving you shine and moisture when you need it. I’ve used it for years and it never disappoints.
I've bought just the clear topcoat stick many times over - it works great for holding the blended color edge when your lip liner is not an exact match for the main color!
I use hard Candy perfecting primer and stay and slay setting spray which I credit for getting me through 16 hour work days I will spray and press in with my beauty sponge after my foundation and powder and after my bronzer blush and highlight steps... I use Maybelline 4 in 1 glowy perfector and age rewind concealer set with Laura Gellar baked balance and brighten foundation powder .I use la colors mineral pressed powder as my finishing powder and my makeup goes no where I use a darker shade of the Laura Gellar foundation powder as my bronzer which also helps the lasting power ..I use different eyeshadow palettes depending on my mood and as long as I prime my lids with milani eyeshadow primer I never have an issue with my eyelooks not lasting I generally use lipliner and lipgloss that's about all I touch up through out the day
The Can’t Stop Won’t Stop is my holy grail foundation. I’m oily and live in a very hot and humid climate. I’ve tried several high end foundations and nothing holds up to the NYX for me. I also use the pressed powder. LOVE!!!
I have a video idea. Use colors you normally wouldn't/don't like (and actually try to make them look good). I've discovered looks I never thought I would like by doing this. 🥰
Emily, I'm in my mid 40s and any time I put concealer on, it feels like any coverage I get is offset by how all my wrinkles get magnified. My wrinkles always look more obvious with concealer on than without concealer. Can you offer any advice?
For most of us forty plus the issue is dryness under the eye - it makes the lines more obvious. The type of concealer used and also the layers also makes a difference, plus placement is extremely important. Really look at your own eyes and decide where the darkness/discolouration is. For me it's the inner corner for darkness and a little discolouration at the outer corner - those are the only two places I use concealer. I also apply a bit of extra eye cream just before I use my concealer and leave to settle a few minutes before applying - it can be up to half an hour since I applied my skincare and may need a bit more moisture. Be very cautious with powder under the eyes - the tiniest amount of finishing powder (not a mattifying t zone powder) is usually all that's needed to "set" the more minimal amount of concealer.
Too many layers used under the eye is also a culprit. Many people have their foundation under there, then maybe a corrector, then a concealer and then powder - lot's of layers to dry and crease. If you need a corrector then choose one with a thin consistency or if it's an emollient product use sparingly. Only use the smallest amount of concealer you actually need ie one or two thinner layers rather than one or two thick layers. For most of us creasing happens under the lashline or in the crows feet where the face is more mobile. The inner corner doesn't move as much and can therefore look smoother longer. I hope that helps.

I recently bought the can't stop won't stop setting powder in the banana shade. it works really well. I do remember I bought the foundation when it came out but I don't remember too well how I liked it so I definitely would have to try it again but usually nyx knocks it out of the park.
and speaking of longwear, I've been using the Revlon colorstay longwear foundation and they relaunched them for dry skin or oily/combination skin and it lasts forever.

The Paulas choice chemical sunscreens are amazing. No pilling. Great for sensitive skin types. If you dont have sensitive skin or skin conditions like acne, Super goop has beautiful sunscreens as well. At the drugstore, if your skin isn't sensitive and temperamental, something like the Differin spf/cetaphil dermacontrol spf (same thing), or the garnier spf products work great under makeup. I just cant use drugstore spf both because i have sensitive skin and oily skin. If you have dry skin ( even sensitive), the Black girl sunscreen for kids spf works great under makeup, and a lot of Neutrogena SS might work for you (hydroboost spf 30, facial spf 60, etc) those are just too emollient for my face.
You might be layering too many things though. Try using your spf plain, nothing underneath. And avoid buffing in foundation to get a thin layer. If you want to sheer it out, mix it with sunscreen or a primer to make it light to medium coverage.
Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen is great, too!

My Hard Candy 16 hr foundation, Loreal Age perfect waterproof mascara, and the Revlon Colorstay lipliner are HG products that stick around till the end of the day and dont break me out [i have oily skin]. I have many beautiful foundations but most make my skin condition worse.
The Half Cacked powder blushes are incredibly long wearing too, as well as my MUG and Physicians formula bronzers, zero breakouts from those too.
I’d love to see an Emily’s fav blushes of all time. You have really brought out the blush lover in me!!!! So many different textures and looks that blushes can give! Also toppers or even a blush cocktail or combo ideas! I could listen to you talk about blush all day Em!

Goes on, smooth and lasts all day. I’ve gotten rid of every other eyeliner, and there were many! I think you should try them if you haven’t.
I just bought the Milani eyeshadow primer to keep my eyeshadow from wearing off my oily eyelids. OMG! It is amazing. If they ever make a primer like that for the face, I'd be so happy!

I've been using The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion, and it makes my (very acne-scarred) skin look smooth. I think it may be the most gentle but effective product I've used from TO. I thought I'd suggest it :)

I find that the Wet N Wild tinted hydrator lasts a long time if I use the correct primers and such. I’ve been loving doing my skin prep, using the L’Oréal Lumi glotion on the skin, then the Milk makeup primer in the black tube, then top it with the new L’Oréal prime lab redness eraser… my makeup lasts all day. I’ll add that after I put the the hydrator on I’ll set it with the AllNighter setting spray. I’ve never been happier with my makeup since I started mixing those products.

I have ordered from Ulta's website and only received 1 item out of 4. Let them aware and they sent the items they missed except it got stuck at the post office. Waited and never received it so asked to order them again. This time it showed up with the seal not fully closed with no items. That point I just asked for my money back. Their warehouse is terrible.
I'm not sure how you could do it, but I think weather inspired looks would be cool! Like stormy, hot and sunny, etc! Maybe you look like them, or maybe you're wearing makeup to thrive in that weather, but seems fun!
I somehow only sweat at my hairline. I only use concealer around my eyes and cheeks (found good formula that's a perfect match for me), so I put antiperspirant around my hairline and I don't have to be annoyed about being in the heat😄

Hi Emily, you got me started on the Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink lipstick several years ago. I find that it is the ONLY lip product that stays on my lips and does not bleed into the fine lines around my lips. (I’m 61, never smoked, and have normal skin). I recently tried the Maybelline Super Stay Vinyl Ink after watching one of your videos. Unfortunately, I was not impressed. It came off pretty doggone quickly. So I thought I’d try another shade and give it one more try. When I looked at the display, it read that you need to SHAKE the lipstick before applying. You can hear the ball or whatever is inside the packaging. AH HA!! Problem solved, nmmmm nope. Did it make a difference in the staying power and the bleeding? For me, uh uh. I am desperate to find another lip product that will stay on my lips longer than an hour or two and will NOT bleed into the fine lines around my mouth. Seems the everywhere I go the display of the original Super Stay Matte Ink is getting smaller and it is not being restocked. 😩😩 Suggestions, thoughts, ideas? Thanks in advance. Terri in SC
I've noticed that too, about the depleted displays. This is such a great product with a full color range; I hope they're not discontinuing it!
Hi I quite like the Maybelline crayons and find them to be decently long wearing. They're also more comfortable then the matte ink for me with similar no bleeding. If you love the matte ink it's really more of a liquid lipstick and those are still available from many other brands. I find of those the Stila and KVD are the most comfortable, but many more affordable brands also make liquid lipstick.
Bleeding lipstick can be helped a lot with the right prep beforehand. A clear lipliner or pore filling stick primer used around the lips (just above the lip border) can help stop bullet lipsticks from bleeding. A lip primer can make liquid lipsticks more comfortable to wear too. I hope that helps.

Such a good video Emily! Nice to see all drugstore products that perform so well. I’d love to see you review the cargo cosmetics eyeshadow palettes you can usually find them at home goods, tjmaxx places like that. I have the namaste in India palette and it is beautiful and not too expensive
Physicians Formula’s Butter Believe It foundation and concealer has a great staying power especially in the humidity of the South where I live. It gives me full coverage and stays all day. To me it seems just a tad heavy but does last for me all day in the good old humidity of Georgia.
Have you tried sheering it out with sunscreen or a makeup primer? I think full coverage foundations look better diluted than trying to buff them into a thin layer. Buffing can bring out texture. Sometimes i dont care and do a thin buffed out layer, topped with a thin layer of powder foundation on top, but light to medium coverage foundation looks super smooth and natural applied with a flat foundation brush. But undiluted, with a flat brush, you will get all the civerage the foundation can give, so it looks pretty, but made up.

I like the original Power Grip primer. Had Niacinamide in it too. I warm it up on my fingers then apply. I love the NYX concealer. Getting ready to get a new shade in Vanilla. Has good staying power. That Milani eyeshadow primer is my tried and true. That's thanks to your recommendations..
