I manage a store & ride the swft fleet & zip almost daily & have had no issues at all it has 48 volt , 500 watt motor & can go 37 miles peddle assist or 32 miles throttle only....Rim brakes stop just fine..Altho i wish it had fenders, its a good E-bike for the money We sell then for $750 & for that price it's hard to beat.
I could not find any specs (sizing, geometry, weight) on this bike either on the Best Buy site or on Swft’s. Without that information, I can’t consider getting the bike.
Not a bad entry-level offering....Getting closer....I am waiting for that "sweet spot" full-frame commuter e-bike - True 500w (750 max) hub motor, 48/14 battery, 7 speed with 5 PAS, 2.5" tires, Hydraulic disc brakes, front fork/hardtail, front/rear lighting (fender/rack optional) @ $1199.00 plus tax and free shipping. Ride1up is soooo close..... e-bike price gouging will drop when Covid and Shipping/Distribution woes are in the rearview and competition heats up.
It's an $800 ebike beach cruiser. Seems perfect and those add ons aren't very expensive. I like it because it hopefully handles more like a bike. I have a Rad Step Thru 3. Nice bike - but $1600 - clunky looking and handles very rough - meaning turning easily and quickly into areas around the beach in Miami Beach - doesn't handle like a normal bike.
always cool to see new Ebikes coming out. I am a RAD fanboy so take this with a grain of salt but i think the at the MSRP the rad mission is a much better bike.
I grew up at a rental bicycle 🚲 shop. One thing I learned; Most people are stupid. Do I have to shift? What's the best gear to leave it in? How do I shift? What does this left shifter do? Should I just use the back brake only? The average user hits a speedy 10-11mph on a good steady pace. 12-14mph is FAST ⏩ 15mph+ is asking for trouble. Throttle? 🖕 They're going to ride it like a motorcycle 🏍️ (time) and achieve a speed DOUBLE what they're comfortable with. These are rider who are weekend warriors at best. These are NOT 🚫 people trained in motorcycle riding. Falling at 11mph under your own pedal power is painful enough. But your stop pedaling when you fall....not with throttle assist! I've seen ppl accelerating into a curb in panic. I didn't hear jack 🎃 about a cutoff switch in the brakes - that would stop the throttle assist if the brake lever was activated. DON'T HAVE ONE! Handbrakes, nice 👍 Left side is front brake on a bicycle. Your rear brake is on the right. The throttle is also on the right. A throttle grip twist engages your full hand/wrist. You need to suddenly stop? Your right hand is occupied...but your left is free! Pull the front brake & you'll either flip forward over the bike or jackknife harshly and do a Superman slide on the road. Are you wearing leather gloves? Leather Jacket with CE impact protection? Motorcycles do. Falling off a motorcycle at 20mph isn't fun. But we're geared up. Falling off an electric bicycle bat 20mph is supposedly safer? Flip flops, tank tops and Hawaiian decorated shorts - yup, you're safe. I can keep a steady pace of 18mph on my bicycle. I know how to dismount & roll - I practiced extensively on the park across from my shop. I bicycle with open fingertip gloves, not for comfort grip but for the pavement slide. When im on my motorcycle, I'm geared up with almost $400 in basic gear; impact & drag rated jeans (6.2 = that's the slide rating, in seconds, before they're burned away!) I wear gloves with kevlar palms and impact knuckles so secure I can shatter your driver's window in one punch and still be able to model my hands in a commercial. My boots are steel toe with ankle reinforcement for drop slides. My jacket has CE armour that feels cushy like the standing floor mat pads behind the counter at an auto mechanic shop - but when impacted suddenly, become foam padded plates of steel to absorb & deflect the impact. Jacket also has the 6.2s slide rating. While my full face helmet acts like a neck brace & keeps my head from flailing. So 20mph fall on my motorcycle is bad. A 550lb motorcycle on top of me can add to that. But your 20mph, gear-free, untrained fall could have life altering consequences. Of the 6 motorcycles I've owned, only had TWO accidents. Both we're relatively low speed (20-35mph) and both we're caused by and the fault of A CAR DRIVER. Say nothing for the 130mph that I did on an open highway just 1 hour before a texting millennial hit me @25mph while I waited for a pedestrian at a crosswalk. Enjoy your low cost electric bike 🚳
POOR REVIEW.. how fast? How many watts is the motor? What is the weight capacity. Can a derailleur be added? ALSO calling the PAMDEDIC.... and I quote you "nonsense" is flippant and disrespectful. BOTTOM LINE.. for the same money, the Lectric is a far greater value, much more capable ebike than the swift.

I’m really glad you mentioned fenders. Is there sufficient clearance to fit some?
Thank you, Mikey & Electrek, for the great review of our Fleet e-bike! 😄❤
i truly love your videos guys, dont get me wrong, but how come you dont mention some perks like top speed, accelaration, torque, etc...
How can you turn the light on?
Press the + button for a couple seconds

2 1/2 inch Schwalbe marathon plus street tires, 1/2 twist throttle and fenders too.
Had mine for a year….perfect for an old guy.
BMX style bars would be more comfy.....
Yes using the KISS Theory. As far as easy maintenance and cheap replacement cost for parts doesn't look any better. Nice review thanks.
I just bought a Hurley Layback looks identical.
I wonder if battery can be replaced
Yes
What's the power of the motor? Looks like 250 watts.
The Motor is a rated 500 Watt Motor
Good review! I’m planning to buy this for my wife. She’s on the shorter side. Do you know what’s the height of the seat if it’s on the lowest setting?
Not a good idea if the wife is short..The bike has a high stanch..I'm 6 ft & altho very comfortable it's stil high. But a great bike tor MSRP.
@@patrickhite3026 it does look big. Thanks
What about the SWFT ZIP
no fenders or rack mount options for front basket. very basic. beats walking i guess...

I would have to agree. This bike should be selling at $600 imho
I agree. The rad mission is the overall best value. I wish it came with 20 inch wheels though and a smaller frame.
electric transportation ⚡️💡💹💹💹💹💹
The lack of fenders and proper disk brakes is a huge bummer since it' really isn't that cheep for being a clearly chinese bike.
It doesn't need disc breaks since it doesn't go that fast
I love your voice
