That stuff about our surfaces are harder then our ancestors is rubbish. There's been rock's, cliffs etc for million of years. And our ancestors had to run on it.

What is an official name for the exercise being done at 6:12, I have always loved doing it in the gym but I can find literally zero information about it on the net, as far as muscles utilized?

El G is the greatest miler in history period. There's no way in hell Mottram can develop a kick that rivals his. Anyway it was more due to the face Bekele screwed up at Athens and ran a kickers race.

Silver at sub-13 minute 5k. Unreal. Amazing ability all around - exhibited by all parties in this video.

Muzungu NOT Mazungo-- The prefix 'Ma' would indicate plurarity, anyway...

yes, some people in africa run and back to school and not all of them would become runners. craig need to go kenya or Ethiopia to train than try to give all kind of excuses. Also, Meb keflegzi grew up in the states, and he dominated USA; how do u explain that ?? it is all about training and sacrfice.

natural selection? most africans lived in more of a "wild" environment for most of their life, the strong survived and passed on their traits, and the higher altititude brought upon the need for greater lung capacity. And still with all the warfare and nomadic lifestyles the strong survive. while in europe people have been living apart from the "wild" for thousands of years now, and the weka survive and breed, there is very little if any natural selection.thats how you explain their advantage.

you actually have the right idea but in the wrong way. look at the agriculture of east africa. it is mostly plains, grasses, and cattle herding. cattle herding explains a predisposition to distance running better than what you said.

if the african runners are better because the amount of kilometers they run and you know that since decades, then why they are still winning? jajajajaja
