Now that you say that, I seem to recall that he might have had a commision as some sort of reserve officer in the Luftwaffe as a pilot , and still an active SS officer. I can't recall where I heard it from (so don't take it as fact) , but the source as I remember was a fairly good one. Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in.
@@cheapolegunguy Heidrich in imperial times was Kaiserlichemarine officer, but he was expelled from navy by the decision of honor court of officers and one of decision makers was admiral Canaris. During nazi reign Canaris became head of military intelligence (Abwer) and his old foe Heidrich civil intelligence (RSHA). I never heard about Luftwaffe. For more details I recommend Mark Felton channel.
Heydrich was a Major der Reserve in the Luftwaffe, graduated from JagdfliegerSchule 1 at Werneuchen, and flew Bf-109 with 6 Staffel/JG77, for a month in April/May 1940 in southern Norway. He saw little or no action but wrecked his Bf-109E-1 during a landing. He received the EKII for his service. He returned to II/JG 77 for a week on 15 July 1941. He was shot down by Soviet AA fire on 22 July. He was rescued the same day by an infantry patrol. He returned to Berlin the next day and was awarded the EKI
@@faridismayil414 He was not in the Imperial Navy. He was a Reichsmarine officer, entered naval service in 1922 and was dismissed in 1931 - those were obviously Weimar years. His wartime reserve officer pilot status in the Luftwaffe is well documented.

Herr Wittmann, I would recommend that you describe the type of dagger (army, navy, airforce...) you are assuming we know what branch of service for each dagger. tell us, please
Yeah, it’s been at least three years because you all started when I was in the hospital, laying prone on the bed for 14 hours a day and hooked up to oxygen from COVID.
Tom just think how much booze and cigars youve got through, I hope your family doctor doesnt watch your videos . Im saying this as I sit here with a large Scotch....no cigar sadly. Enjoy Tom and Ob

Could not resist making a comment about the fellow that said all belt buckles had leather tabs. That statement is totally false. I have collected buckles and belts for 60 years. I have never seen a wwss buckle with a tab. Seen one with a paper rzm tag stapled to it from a vet bring home mint condition, no tab. Never seen an SA with a tab. Most pre war buckles that are well worn probably had tabs. One thought is that the threads on the tab wore out and the tab was discarded. Most late war buckles in mint condition have no tabs.
@@WittmannAntiqueMilitariaAll so some time in 1943 the tabs seem to be eliminated on heer, kriegsmarine and Luftwaffe buckles. Reinhard Heidrich was never in Luftwaffe. Once he was in Kaiserleichmarine.

Hello again Mr Whitman and Rob. Great to see another show of yours. Love the SS box. All the best from Phillip Colley in the UK. 🔥 🔥 🔥
Really liked the orange grip Navy with the pebbled scabbard. The patina is beautiful.

Hello Team Wittmann! Great unboxing this week. I know I say that all the time, but the videos are always fun to watch. Best to everyone at DTC.
Thank you so much. I know that Tom, Ob, and Deb appreciate it.
Loved the chained SS dagger. Beautiful piece. Wish I could afford one 😀
That SS , very COOL!! thanx again for the video,
Вылитый Санта Клаус! Чем больше пьет тем больше нос краснеет! 😂😂😂😂
Его нос указывает на степень его опьянения!
No complaints here! Just a question. How about a session on how to clean daggers without destroying patina and period frosting, etc.
This is great idea and I will browbeat Tom into it.
i use wadded up alum. foil combined with water or oil, it cant scratch the steel but removes rust and crud
144 and everyone a pleasure to watch

Where has DTC gone 23/-0/2024 ?
They went to the OVMS MAX Show. There will be a show video today and they’ll be back down the cellar this week.

Can you give me the history of the panzerfaust? Or at least a decent cigar?
Bob's cuff links

Did the order police have their own daggers? I’ve seen swords before but never daggers.
Mainly dress bayonets, I think.
Yes thx I’ll have the chained ss please 😊
Yeah, it’s been at least three years because you all started when I was in the hospital, laying prone on the bed for 14 hours a day and hooked up to oxygen from COVID.
I’m happy you’re still here.
@@WittmannAntiqueMilitaria Thanks! I remember watching your shows on my iPad and it would help bring some of my hobby to me in the hospital.
whats most expensive: A chained SS dagger or an SS sword ?
Guess it depends on if the sword is nco or officer
That would depend on many, many factors, but in the main the dagger is going to edge out the sword.
Ah, a video! I guess this will have to last us until you get back from the show in a week or two.
😃👍

I absolutely appreciate your expertise; there is a stupefying amount of “collector mythology” that can and should be challenged.
