    The timing of this video is impeccable. I was literally just posting about this asking questions, because it's been 6 years since my last build and it is pretty stock.
    Even the RAM you used is pretty much the same, minus the RGB (G.SKILL Ripjaws S5 Series 96GB (F5-6400J3239F48GX2-RS5K)).
    I want to run the Taichi (although Australia seems to be out of those) and my 2nd choice was the ProArt 670E. Less enthused about the ASUS because it doesnt have the screen on the MB.
    Anyway thank you for this video!

    Playing around with DDR5 and 6000MT/s on AM5, I can comfortably say using 1.4v is a god given stability voltage for DDR5 6000MT/s with thight timings.
    1.35v will give way more issues than dialing in 1.4v, which is a golden voltage for high speed and thight timings on 6000MT/s for 24/7 systems.

      I really wonder about what voltages are good for these chips. I've now fried 3 fucking 7950x3D since buying it on launch almost a year ago. Had to RMA it and my motherboard (Asus B650E-F) 2 times already and my latest parts just started failing again. The only thing I can think of is the timings I'm using + the voltages it demands (1.4v) is frying the memory controller. It won't post if I toggle EXPO, it just hangs on memory testing during post. Will sit with that orange LED lit for 60 minutes straight and never progress. I hate this system and wish I never bought it.

    • @GameTechReviews

      That's mainly because higher speeds in a 2DPC config isn't really possible without manually changing settings. This video proves that with understanding of how the system works, it's possible to achieve 6000MT/s in a worst case scenario (i.e. dual rank and two dimm per channel).

    Hello there! Thanks for this wonderful guide. I got two kits of 96GB Corsair Dominator Titanium (Hynix) and got it to run at 6000 CL30 with the values you used in this video. However, while I haven't gotten any BSODs or other crashes so far, it isn't fully stable as OCCT memory test is throwing memory rrors after a couple of minutes.
    In which order would you attempt to tweak the values (and would it be increased or decreased) in an attempt to improve stability?

    • @GameTechReviews
      @GameTechReviews  22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Try 5600 and see if that is stable. 6000 is extremely hard to get stable with that amount of RAM and will require a lot of trial and error to figure out the correct values based on the motherboard and memory used.

    • @CaveWaverider

      @@GameTechReviews Thank you very much for your reply. 5200, 5600 and 5800 CL30/39/39/76 runs completely stable out of the box (even with the RAM kits spread out over channels, but I put them into one channel each like you suggested for 6000 tweaking) with everything on auto. 6000 doesn't even post without your tweaks, but with your tweaks it posts and runs in Windows without any noticeable problems except the memory errors in OCCT. I tried tweaking timings, but it makes no difference to stability whether it's CL30/39/39 or 50/50/50.
      Both 96GB kits work fine on their own up to DDR5-6800 CL30 without any tweaking.
      It feels like it might only need a couple of more tweaks to become fully stable, but I'd like to know which order I would go about to tweak. SOC voltage first and if so, what is the max safe value? Or try tweaking impedences further and if so which ones would you try to increase/decrease first? Or maybe tackle sub-timings instead?
      I'm new to DDR5 and the AM5 platform, went from my sadly degraded 14900K (degraded for the second time even with all the intel defaults) with 128GB DDR4-3600 CL14 memory (I went with DDR4 back in the day because of DDR5 problems with four sticks/high capacity/high speed memory and I had the memory in my old system anyway, but I was forced to switch now and when I saw videos from you I had hopes to be able to overcome it) to this setup with 7950X3D and DDR5 with Gigabyte X670E Aorus Pro X mainboard, so I'm not very privy of how to tweak this DDR5 yet and would be glad to get about some more pointers.
      Thank you very much!

    May I ask a few questions? It seems that you're very knowledgeable about this stuff.
    1. Does the motherboard plays the big role for the 4dimms stability? Assuming I'm using a "high-end" boards such as Aorus master just like you, would I get the similar, stable result?
    2. Assuming that I need the storage more than speed, and I didn't enable any tweaks/XMP/EXPO, will using 4 DIMMs going to work without any issues all the time?
    I heard that people keeps saying that using 4 dimms is not recommended, but I wonder how "bad" it is

    • @GameTechReviews
      @GameTechReviews  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The motherboard and the memory itself play the biggest role in achieving stability if running higher density such as dual rank with 4 dimms (i.e. what is shown in the video). From testing various CPUs, Ryzen is pretty reliable in terms of supporting a lot of memory. It's really the motherboard's ability to handle the ODT values for the memory due to how the wire traces over the PCB layers are designed. The memory needs to be fairly robust with the built in impedance to prevent reflections when driven at lower drive strengths. The people saying it's "bad" don't have a deep understanding of how the system works so as a result they assume it's not possible.
      These questions are better answered live during the weekly Thursday livestream on the youtube channel where I can better articulate all of these concepts.

You need memory testing tools like Kahu - preferably with the kgui wrapper, testmem, YCruncher to properly test. I managed to post my system and wander around and play games too because a lot of that stuff really does not pressure things that much. I ran Kahu under KGui and the whole thing failed at 6% - so not stable, I am still working on making it so, Ill let you know if I make it so.. PLEASE! Get some software tools to properly test O/C, otherwise other people are going to follow what you do and think they are stable and its not necessarily correct.

    I have Corsair vengeance 2x kits 5600 cl40 96gb each and currently trying to run it stable. So far not much success running docp l and docp ll profiles at lower values. Tried 5200-5400 and it failed aida64 tests, so right now trying 5000. My second worry is the latency because it doesn’t matter if I use 2 dimms or 4, the aida64 memory test shows 100 ns latency which is kinda too high I guess? I am considering buying maybe a better cl30 expo 128gb kit at 6000mhz and try to get it running better at lower latencies? 100 ns seems to be really bad for performance, not just games

    • @GameTechReviews

      Just loading DOCP won't work because at 4 sticks the impedance values need to be adjusted because these are dual rank DIMMs. Corsair vengeance at CL40 sounds like Micron ram. You should try Hynix for best flexibility with manual adjustments.

      No. If you do some general research on that topic, you'll see why. Also, it even goes beyond the sticks themselves... the communication bus, for example, also has a much greater advantage over ddr4's, etc

    • @John-vm7fq

      @@RKBenchmarker I see, so far when i did a search online comparing DDR4 and DDR5 , i tend to see DDR5 requiring higher Mhz to get same FPS compared to DDR4.
      Another thing i noticed is , if i were to use 2 stick vs 4 stick memory , 2 stick would give me much better mhz compared to 4 stick of DDRR5. To give some context , i'm trying to setup a database (postgresql) , ram is really useful , 192gb or even the upcoming 256gb , but so far i see low mhz when you poke 4 sticks into the motherboard , your video really shows that it could be stable at higher mhz in future but yeah i can't afford it to crash.
      If you don't mind sharing, which brand motherboard should i go for , for 24/7 192gb/256gb(future when bios is out), i feel asus is no longer at the front of innovation for motherboards

      @GameTechReviews  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      The setup shown in the video is 100% 24/7 stable. In fact, it's stable at lower voltages than what was used in the guide. I'm currently running VDD, VDDQ, and VDDIO at 1.35v since that's what the memory kit is rated for on the XMP profile. VSOC is also lowered to 1.2v. In general, if you want to run 192gb at 6000MT/s you would need at least an 8-layer motherboard. It is possible to run the setup shown at even higher speeds but I'll save that for another video.

So to expect higher FPS from DDR5 than DDR4-3600 (1800 Mhz) you need faster then DDR5-5400 (5600, 6000 etc) on the same CPU (if it supports both types). Of course, newer faster CPU will improve even with slower DDR5 using its L3 cache to compensate the higher latencies.
