Quick tip for anyone who wants to use a page from their favorite book but can't dare to rip it out because thats just basically dying lol : Photo copy it and cut it out! Distress one side a bit if you want to make it look like you tore it out of a book.
I do this a lot when I want to use book pages as stationery, decor items, and miscellaneous DIYs. So yeah, just photo copy it on your printer, at your local library, etc., etc.

I actually love doing black out poetry with books I dislike or hate so that I end up with something nice with them. I love how your channel took a different direction into literature/reading/creating in general, by the way.

I've discovered black out poetry through Instagram maybe half a year ago, and I've been in love with it ever since. And just earlier today I've done a couple of these poems, and I got so excited when I saw this video, I almost screamed from joy! It such a fun form of poetry to make, and it can be sooo expressive, even more so than "regular" poetry.

I love that your videos continue to give me encouragement to push some boundaries. I first started annotating books because of you (then later went on to defacing them XD but I still credit you to giving me the urge to) and now this! I have vaguely heard of doing this, and a character in V.E. Schwab's Vicious does a similar thing. But I looooove the watercolor idea. I think in general I just love making books more personal and unique rather than just an everyday book sitting plainly on my shelf :) Wonderful video!

I did blackout poetry in my English class last year which was quite fun. Our topic was Syrian refuges and I did one I'm pretty proud of. Although, I didn't use all black, I used other coloured sharpies to have a drawing combined with the blackout poetry (which everyone was supposed to do anyway), which I think turned out nicely. All in all, it was really fun.

Fantastic. I've always been fascinated by alternate devices for arriving at poetry. This particular approach reminds me a lot of W.S. Burroughs's Cut-Up Machine, which would make a great follow-up to this (unless you're just too horrified by the Beats, which some people should be, though I've never met anyone that was....).

But I need to explore blackout poetry as well! This video gave me a great idea to do so with a book that I didn't like the content that much, but the physical copy has sentimental value. SO why not create an art piece with it
