It's banter if Taylor is OK with it otherwise it's bullying but if you watch most videos on the channel Taylor is often making his own gay jokes and references so the majority of the time he seems fine with it. I'm sure he would have said something if he felt it was going too far. But as everyone has different views from the outside some people won't agree with it but at the end of the day if the team are happy with it then that's what matters.

Ford tried to use the heritage to and it failed, Tata tried to use the Heritage and it failed saying "They should use the heritage" is pointless they tried that already and it failed. Will this rebrand and move to full EV work? who knows but doing nothing certainly isn't and repeating the failures of the past isn't likely to either. I fucking hate the new MGs but SAICs electric MGs are selling faster than any MG has ever sold. Tata had 2 options with Jag accept the brand is worthless sell off the assets and move on. Or try to copy the MG model and that's exactly what they are doing. How many Jags (not land rovers) do you own between you? How many BMWs? and you are British car enthusiasts in the wider world Jag are even less popular than that. We all like the idea of the brand but that's rose tinted nostalgia talking and at the end of the day that doesn't sell cars.

Alex is right about the winter tires and 4x4's and i am Norwegian BTW, most of the vehicles in Norway are not 4x4. Good dedicated winter tires with or without studs (not all season or all terrain) will do for most if not all drivers. Rory's Defender with all terrains might be ok in the snow but one thing going forwards, another thing is stopping and a heavy vehicle like that don't want to stop once the sliding start. In my experience narrow winter tires is much better than wide winter tires.
Wide tires are great if you want/need to Roll "over/on" things, while narrow are more useful if you want to roll "through" things, and you want to roll "through" snow with the tyres and not on the snow. Me mum uses All-Season Tyres but only because we haven had a really bad Winter in YEARS... Once we get some heavy snow she´ll most likely wont be able to go home due to how steep the hill is (20% incline). They're okay for mild Winters where you dont get much snow or ice but that's really it.

Let's be honest. The jag buyer doesn't like electric cars and they don't care how beautiful they look. If they're EVs, they just don't like them. Jag needs to go electric. There's no point in trying to sell EVs to the old buyers. With a 30sec ad, half of the world knows that Jag is launching a new car soon. You don't get this much exposure with a generic video of a car driving down a road. In 6 months the people offended by this video will be offended by so many other things that they'll totally forget this happened. Now they just need to release a cool car. On the Jaguar business: From what I can gather Jaguar haven't been profitable for a while now, for at least a decade. Plus they've stopped production of ICE cars and are going full electric launching (I think in 2025). So it makes perfect sense to do a re-launch/re-branding of the company since what they're going to be making is drastically different and there isn't a better opportunity to do so. For the comments about alienating the customer base etc. you can't blame them for going in a different direction because the base they had was clearly too small to be profitable. You can only try to make and sell a car so many times before going bankrupt. I will judge the new stuff when I see it and not loose any sleep over an advert. Also cool Jaguars are still cool.

Just give an idea for Taylor regarding the trailer. I am moving this month and I need a trailer that can tow my car and move my belongings. My car towing rated only 2250kg. What I have done is, I went to a crate box company, order a crate box to put on top my trailer, so I can use to move my belongings. Once I finished, I can dissemble it and put it somewhere else. When I need to tow some cargo, I just assemble back. Hope this could help.

Everyone is complaining about what Jaguar is doing like everyone was going out and buying Jaguars. No one is referencing today's jags when they complain about the brand scrapping all of their history for this new rebranding, everyone talks about the classic cars Jaguar hasn't been selling for 50+ years. And that's the reason why Jaguar is "alienating" it's current customer base, because there are currently about 10 whole customers buying the kind of jaguar's that actually turn the company any profit.
Jag are in a weird place. Their vehicles are quite expensive and their brand is/was targeted towards an older generation, or at least that was the perceived audience for those vehicles. Can't blame them for trying to survive when everyone is just buying Telsa, Kia, Volvo, VW, Dacia. The only jags I see on the road are early 2000s models

Jaguar is rebranding in an attempt to appeal to young rich people. "Young people aren't rich" some are. They're basically deciding to become a smaller more niche brand that will sell low volume, high cost vehicles. Personally I think it's a terrible direction to have taken and they're a victim of looming ICE bans (which will probably be punted back anyway...).
What some foreigners often dont understand. Is that for the UK being extremely mean or offensive to someone you know is also a sign of an extremely deep bond of friendship. Because you could say the most offensive shit to your friend. Be as nasty as you can be to them and they'll either say something similar back to you or laugh it all off then you all go down the pub together for a chat, some pub grub and a pint and take turns buying each other drinks. Its because there is this strong bond that this friend knows whatever nasty things are said doesnt come from a bad place because you understand one another. I have a few friends like these. This episode left a sour taste in my mouth and it wasn’t even the god awful soundboard. It was the constant bashing of poor Taylor. Alex is right about the winter tires and 4x4's and i am Norwegian BTW, most of the vehicles in Norway are not 4x4.
Good dedicated winter tires with or without studs (not all season or all terrain) will do for most if not all drivers.
Rory's Defender with all terrains might be ok in the snow but one thing going forwards, another thing is stopping and a heavy vehicle like that don't want to stop once the sliding start.
In my experience narrow winter tires is much better than wide winter tires.
Wide tires are great if you want/need to Roll "over/on" things, while narrow are more useful if you want to roll "through" things, and you want to roll "through" snow with the tyres and not on the snow.
Me mum uses All-Season Tyres but only because we haven had a really bad Winter in YEARS... Once we get some heavy snow she´ll most likely wont be able to go home due to how steep the hill is (20% incline). They're okay for mild Winters where you dont get much snow or ice but that's really it.

can i suggest something.. firstly the soundboard, not a great issue but rory please dont go overboard with it, a couple of times fine we can all laugh but anymore than that its just annoyance. secondly, please could you mix the podcasts up abit? have more frequent guests because this style right now (finding your feet phase has passed) is getting boring. perhaps swap over on tdc, edwin goes to auto alex, taylor over to tdc / perhaps atg more involved too.

Let's be honest. The jag buyer doesn't like electric cars and they don't care how beautiful they look. If they're EVs, they just don't like them. Jag needs to go electric. There's no point in trying to sell EVs to the old buyers.
With a 30sec ad, half of the world knows that Jag is launching a new car soon. You don't get this much exposure with a generic video of a car driving down a road.
In 6 months the people offended by this video will be offended by so many other things that they'll totally forget this happened.
Now they just need to release a cool car.

On the Jaguar business: From what I can gather Jaguar haven't been profitable for a while now, for at least a decade. Plus they've stopped production of ICE cars and are going full electric launching (I think in 2025). So it makes perfect sense to do a re-launch/re-branding of the company since what they're going to be making is drastically different and there isn't a better opportunity to do so.
For the comments about alienating the customer base etc. you can't blame them for going in a different direction because the base they had was clearly too small to be profitable. You can only try to make and sell a car so many times before going bankrupt.
I will judge the new stuff when I see it and not loose any sleep over an advert. Also cool Jaguars are still cool.

Just give an idea for Taylor regarding the trailer. I am moving this month and I need a trailer that can tow my car and move my belongings. My car towing rated only 2250kg. What I have done is, I went to a crate box company, order a crate box to put on top my trailer, so I can use to move my belongings. Once I finished, I can dissemble it and put it somewhere else. When I need to tow some cargo, I just assemble back. Hope this could help.

As for the '"woke" crap' there is nothing conspiratorial about it, it's well known esg push an agenda incompatible with more than 50% of the population, they don't even hide it. It's why so many companies are suffering financially after embracing esg. They are pushing too hard, too fast.
People as a whole/community change over time and start to accept these things. Another 2-3 generations and most people would be accepting of this stuff, but they got impatient and started pushing, which has made people stick their foot in the ground and push back.
People need to choose to accept change, not be forced to.

Everyone is complaining about what Jaguar is doing like everyone was going out and buying Jaguars. No one is referencing today's jags when they complain about the brand scrapping all of their history for this new rebranding, everyone talks about the classic cars Jaguar hasn't been selling for 50+ years. And that's the reason why Jaguar is "alienating" it's current customer base, because there are currently about 10 whole customers buying the kind of jaguar's that actually turn the company any profit.
Jag are in a weird place. Their vehicles are quite expensive and their brand is/was targeted towards an older generation, or at least that was the perceived audience for those vehicles. Can't blame them for trying to survive when everyone is just buying Telsa, Kia, Volvo, VW, Dacia. The only jags I see on the road are early 2000s models

Jaguar is rebranding in an attempt to appeal to young rich people. "Young people aren't rich" some are. They're basically deciding to become a smaller more niche brand that will sell low volume, high cost vehicles. Personally I think it's a terrible direction to have taken and they're a victim of looming ICE bans (which will probably be punted back anyway...).
What some foreigners often dont understand. Is that for the UK being extremely mean or offensive to someone you know is also a sign of an extremely deep bond of friendship. Because you could say the most offensive shit to your friend. Be as nasty as you can be to them and they'll either say something similar back to you or laugh it all off then you all go down the pub together for a chat, some pub grub and a pint and take turns buying each other drinks. Its because there is this strong bond that this friend knows whatever nasty things are said doesnt come from a bad place because you understand one another. I have a few friends like these. Ive known them 20+ years and I wouldnt speak to anyone else the same way I speak to them unless these other people shared the same bond.

This enables them to reinvent Jaguar to a new generation whilst also allowing the 'past' with all its enthusiasts to keep going. It could actually be a stroke of genius - not to mention a by product being the increase in value of all 'traditional' second hand jags. Could be a win win for everbody ...

The SMG is trash and the manual isn’t great for such a heavy car, but if you switch to the dual clutch from the E 92 or better for drivability the zf 8hp automatic. The smg can be converted to manual and is worth something to sell

This episode left a sour taste in my mouth and it wasn’t even the god awful soundboard. It was the constant bashing of poor Taylor. It was obvious to see the tension that was rising throughout the episode. If you’re not careful you’ll lose one of the key people to autoalex (imo). The v2 channel is my favourite with Taylor. Just a real shame to see negativity towards him all the time.
