Love it...we could not live without our power washer...!!! We enjoy out outside spaces...especially on the weekends...Carson is very lucky to have parents who not only care so much about creating a comfortable environment but also "Doing It On a Dime"...!!! Every spring we do our siding on our house where we have a wrap around porch. Its amazing how much grime sticks to it when it does not have the benefit of rain washing it off. Your patio looks great! Good job!

LOL Kathryn we are a Pressure Washing obsessed family also. We have a large pressure treated deck around our pool and hot tub (my hubby fondly refers to it as the "Deck-Mahal") that needs cleaning each summer. I'm pretty sure we have chipped away some of the deck itself being overly ambitious while cleaning it :). We have huge Maple trees around our house - I love it for cleaning out our gutters. After borrowing one a few times we decided it was time to invest in our own - I love love love it! It's one of those tools that gives you instant gratification.
OMG!! Shut the front door!! Your makeover is absolutely beautiful! It's so inviting and the river rocks totally transformed the walkway!! I love, love, love it. It made me just want to walk on up, grab a glass of lemon water, have a seat and enjoy! TFS

I LOVE power washing anything! It is addicting, and the best thing to do on a hot summer day....I wear sandles and make sure my feet get wet, it cools me right off! It is magical! Great job..the hard work is worth it! Happy 4th to all of you!
Fellow power washer here! We use it on our siding and brick, patio, and privacy fence. Love it! We've been thinking of adding rock to our backyard and after seeing yours, I'm convinced it's what we need to do! Thanks for sharing :)

Very pretty! I saw that rug at Lowe's and I fell in love with it. That is a really good power washer. We usually rent ours from the home improvement store. We may need to consider investing in one now. tfs -Tai

Power washers are amazing, my parents use one every year to refresh their pool patio and furniture and it is awesome. Your outdoor spaces look so cozy and inviting, you know I am loving the navy and red :) Our deck and back yard have been on our to do list since we moved in but they will be a little bit of an investment so we're saving our pennies. Maybe I'll score a rug on sale this summer!

Investing in a power washer was such a smart choice for us. Our siding on the house get that funky geen stuff growing on it. We live in a Homeowners Assoc. neighborhood and they are like a dog with a bone about how our houses look. We have a small garden in our back yard and used the weed cloth along with the river rocks. Love the look and not pulling weeds as often. It just classes things up a bit.
VA Purl Ours gets that, too!! It's the grossest green. I think it might be pollen? We get it really bad out back by the trees.
Living in the South there is no shortage of humidity and pollen. I think they are conspiring against our siding. I live seven miles from the ocean and we still get the green plague.
Your not alone hubby gets into that power washer and I need to move fast! Lol Happy 4th! God Bless you and your family!

Love this! I cant wait to decorate our patio. My daughter is 8 weeks old, so I havent done too much this summer. I love the outdoor rug. Especially if the kids fall. Softer than concrete, for sure.

Fabulous! We have peeling paint on our concrete porch that would probably power-wash right off. One thing about the stone mulch: unless you use a blower to keep it free of organic debris (leaves, pollen, seed pods, etc.) within a few years you'll have enough composted stuff in the little crevices for seeds to germinate in. My genteel old neighborhood has lots of patches of weedy rock mulch. Maybe someone has posted a blower on craigslist!
Kathryn and Charlie...great job on the outside. NOW, I want to tell you about this FANTASTIC thing to do for your patio. It's called WET AND FORGET. You can look up tutorials on TH-cam. But it's a spray/wash you spray on your cement - maybe even those walking stone cubes...and it keeps them BEAUTIFUL. Each time it rains, it's reactivated to keep them from getting dark, moldy, mildew, algaey, and whatever cement does that makes it unsightly. This is the stuff they use on the Sydney Opera House to keep it beautiful, and many public pools and them parks use it as well. It's biodegradable, safe for the plants, you spray it once and that's it. Nature does the work everytime it rains to reinvigorate it to stay clean. (I am NOT attached to this stuff's manufacture at ALL...but I tell EVERYONE about how great it is.) I heard about it from Lou Manfredini - he's Mr Fix-It on Chicago radio - and goes on the Today Show all the time. For years he spoke about it and I thought..."yeah, sure." Then I got it...and you will be JUST amazed at this as you were with that power-washer. No scrubbing - "spray and walk away". Try it. I swear it's one of the best tips I have for outside maintenance (non-lawn related)!

Great improvement.. What also might look nice are some of those wooden tiles (available at ikea) for the concrete part. It gives a bit of a warmer feeling.. I love to powerwash everthing aswel. It looks great.

I have LOVED every single video you have made I watch you every week to catch up on the wonderful, useful informational and great tips for home/family and beyond. you have been such a breath of fresh air. I love all the family dinners recipes and the great tips for organization skills for homes. We just moved back to the USA from Italy and we just signed our new rental house, yesterday so I will re watching your video's for helpful and simply tips without spending a lot of money to make your home lovely. I wanted to ask you a couple of questions about making an "older" home more "homey: feeling.. We have vinyl kitchen flooring in the kitchen and eat in area. What do I use to clean that foor? Also, what do I use to clean wooden floors? the house is from 1984 so it's a little outdated. trying to find tips on how to spruce up a older home. Thank you for all your suggestions tips posts and video. I truly appreciate you!!!

Wow, that is quite the transformation! , looks awesome :-), power washing does wonders but takes forever to do since all power washers seems to have that tiny sprayer, wish they came larger to cover more area so you can get the job done quicker!
Melanie Gollin This one comes with 5 sprayers, so you can get a pretty large area, especially for painted decks and Carson's slide set. I know what you mean though, anything below a 15 degree angle take longer. I think Charlie did the concrete slab in about 30 minutes with a 15.
You can buy an attachment for your power washer at lowes I think it's called the surface cleaner by Briggs and Stratton you can clean a much bigger area faster!!

I miss my power washer so much! I honestly overused it lol. Our house backs up to the woods. There are so many trees that our yard, shed and side deck from the shade and we get mildew on everything. I would pull out the power washer in spring and early fall. Of course I broke it... lol I’m glad you just reminded me to save up and buy a new machine ♥️

teresa Williams Thanks, Teresa! It's a great power washer. There are models that are slightly cheaper, but this one has a great motor and a really intense spray so it was worth investing in the little bit extra. Good luck in your search!

What a difference the stones made! Can you tell me how thick the layer is? We have a space in our back yard that is hard to mow so I'm considering a stone patio.
