In this video, I will show you how to activate and install google rcs messages features on your samsung galaxy smartphone. Samsung phones used in this video are all unlocked.
I have tried this method on the Note 20 Ultra, Note 10, Note 9, S20, and S10 and was able to activate the rcs features on stock samsung messages app.

Hey Saki! FYI, my Verizon Note 20 ultra will not allow me to force stop Samsumg's standard messages app, so advanced options isn't activating.

Hi Saki, I have a note 10 plus 5G in the UK, followed your instructions, was unable to activate. I did as far as deleting cache, but it didn't enable advanced settings in messages. Any advice for me bro?
Didn't work for me, owning a galaxy A50, did all the steps. Such a pity, I have them enabled on Google messages, but the Google app is missing something (eg pinned conversations, costum categories, starred messages), I would have loved to be able to use RCS on the stock app. Maybe that'll need some time, who knows...
Works if you use the stock dialer app to enter the code! Worked like a charm for me on my Note 10+

I have RCS on Messages by Google, so it works with my carrier. I followed this instruction to every detail, but no, there wasn't any new RCS options available in Samsungs app. I also restarted the phone and retried a couple of times. I am basically OK with the Google version but I miss the pinch to zoom feature on the Samsung app. So I am still on RCS, but it works only with Google it seems.

The *#***#467**#*#* no longer works to get you into the IMS settings to turn on RCS in reg Samsung stock messaging app. I also miss that my notifications in Samsung I can set the notifications to just show a text not who it's from or what the message is for privacy. Sakitech you are a lifesaver. I'm in the UK and had recently bought a Note 20 Ultra and was unable to access this feature. Before I had bought my Note 20 Ultra I had the S9 Plus and the RCS feature was already accessible but not accessible on my new phone but this tutorial worked flawlessly. So glad to have my RCS back again, thanks again..👌.

Does this method still work?? Been trying on the S21U with A11 but issuing the Google phone app doesn’t get me to the screen I need to be on
Use Alliance Shield X app and download it from the play store and go to ims settings using that.
Can you go over some of the other features like the VoLTE video and VoLTE call Composer in that menu in a later video?
So does this only work on the unlocked versions. I have the regular note plus through Verizon
On the galaxy note 20+ 5g don't show the advanced messaging options , if I uninstall the Phone Dialer google app, it will still working or i have to keep that app installed in order to have this trick to work ????

Hey saki I was wondering how do I turn off duplicate messages? I installed the Google messages app on my Samsung phone and it's the default message service now but I also still receives messages from the Samsung messenger! I have getting messages from both
From your website downloaded and installed on s10+ with 2.5
It asks me to select my phone. It is light grey and can not select. I did find it made icon on home screen. Opened and I was able to follow your instructions from there. Went all the way step by step till stepping out and selecting messages again and going into settings and I did not get the finial screen to enable. I do have two messages apps installed and I made sure to work the original one over the 2nd one I installed. Tomorrow I'll try again to do all this after uninstalling 2nd message app so only original is in phone and see if thats it.
After this set up do I have to keep the google phone as default?

It did work for me, until now...Just updated my S20 FE 5G with February patch, and my RCS option is gone (messages app is a new version). Tried to apply your method again, but no menu shows after dialing... Any chance to find another way around to activate it? Thanks

VZN hasn't rolled out RCS to Sammy phones except for 9s (S and Note) and haven't announced any dates for when they plan to do so. It's ridiculous

If someone one blocks you does the blue dot that used to appear on their contact bubble dissappear? I think i am blocked because blue dot went away the day I believe I was blocked....BUT I never deleted the last text conversation with that person and every few days the blue dot is back again...does this mean they may be unblocking me to check if I sent a message? Thanks
On my a10e after the android 10 updated I got the Chat option on my stock messages and the bubbles turned out blue but on my s20 plus 5 came with advanced messaging out the box and the bubbles are green but still have read receipt and when someone is typing
I did what you instructed and In did get rcs messages and when I did it the feature is enabled but it doesn't say advanced features instead it says chat settings other than that I got the feature enabled

I have T-Mobile in the US and the extra advanced messaging option did not turn on for me. Also when I went into the RCS feature from the phone dialer app all the RCS features were already turned on.
I have an Note 8, Android Version 9, One UI Version 1.0 and this information did not work for me. Does it require a higher version for Android and/or for One UI?

I have a question. Just got my s21 ultra but I can't swipe to call or message in my messages app. And I press the little phone button on top right corner to call contact and it just takes me to the phone keypad? Do you know why?

Verizon only supports a single galaxy device for RCS. If you can edit what server it uses and point it to Google, it might work

Wow, it worked! Unlocked Note 20 ultra, tmobile. The secret was searching in the apps list for messages. When I opened Messages settings from my launcher to FC/clear cache, it didn't work. Had to go from the apps list like you said. Thanks for finally helping make it work!

Why not just download the google messages app for RCS instead of doing all this steps to get RCS on samsung messages. More simpler to get RCS than this.

Why the ultra doesn’t have the same message features like the Note 9?!
If your phone is carrier locked, then this option is already there since they activated it through their configuration, the non-carrier unlocked versions don't have this activated. Hope Samsung will enable this in a future update
@@Charlie1x your right i bought a carrier lock note 9 before and had those same features but I didn't have a post pay account so I couldn't use the features which sucked but understandable

I mean it's all carriers fault being greedy, since I went to a T-mobile store to see if they could help me enable it, and they told me they can't because the phone is an unlocked version and not a T-Mobile version, even though I'm using their service 🤷🏻♂️ this method shown in the video doesn't always work and you need to have the google phone app as default, which I don't like 😅
@@Charlie1x its probably a pre-paid service if its unlocked and not carrier locked to get more money out of it. I just left my call on Default

I'm in UK on Vodaphone and have chat settings which seem to work. This didn't bring up the RCS options for me.
Downloaded on my Note 9 except with T-Mobile it does not show any "Advanced Messaging" settings. Some settings such as read receipt and typing bubbles are available.

After a long waiting suddenly i have got this today here in Mauritius.
AT&T already includes this feature but it only shows the read and delivered notice and the typing dots between AT&T users, if someone isn't on AT&T it will not show. I just followed your steps and will see how it goes tomorrow but I don't think it's going to change what is already set by the carrier .
Samsung supports RCS messaging natively without changing any settings. At least all the phones that I have had since my s10+ do
I have a Galaxy S10 from T-Mobile, but is Unlocked now. When I type the code in the Google phone it just disappear, while in the Samsung default phone app it doesn't do anything. I use RCS on Google Messages app, but I'd like to use it in the default Samsung's messages. Could you help me please?

Hi there, the advanced messages settings showed, but texts don't actually send through RCS and the features don't work. Could you please look into this more?
You sure you texting someone with an RCS feature? Coz apple doesn't support RCS .
My S9+ had it with the default messages app and it was great, but this one is an S20Ultra and doesn't. So I tried everything 5 times following each step closely and it still doesn't work. I even totally disabled the default dialer and gave the Google dialer full access and still not working.

What will it cost me to use. I'm on Verizon with unlimited data but only 250 text messages is my limit. If this uses date to send and receive that is a big win, I would then have unlimited messaging. Can you confirm for me? Using S10+

Just take a few seconds and google RCS universal profile. Basically if the lazy carriers get off their asses and enable it on their networks then text messaging would get features like read receipts, typing indicator, larger attachment size limit, better support for group chats etc. Android users would get those features while being able to use whatever text messaging app they prefer.

I did this and I'm not even sure if it'll do anything because I would have to rely on other people to do this too. Chances of that happening are probably zero. If only Google would just force Android to use their messaging platform as a default then Android would be on par with imessage.

Thanks but no thanks. I'll pass, I've been enjoying my 2017 Note 8 without it and I still am (keeping it till 2022), not gonna compromise my privacy just for something that's hardly even as good as Telegram.

Just got the October patch update finally and I noticed it turned off the Chat features, so I had to do this all over again on my unlocked Note20 Ultra.
Hi there. I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and i followed all the steps and i don't have the advanced feature in my Samsung messages app. I am on version. 11.5.10.301
Or you can download Google messages and activate the option from the app. Once you activate it, you can switch back to the default samsung messages app and you'll be able to use it . Your procedure is longer. Thanks for the effort though. Also, I've sent you a message on Twitter and you never responded but you respond to the tips so you could make a video about. It's very unfortunate but whatever 🙄

Its because your guys phones are locked to the at&t or Verizon and it comes with that already on unlocked devices they dont have it

Advanced settings is not offered on either my samsung tab s3 or my samsung tab s6. Was wanting to be able to send text messages when connected to wifi

For those who can't have advanced messages option even after trying this method. I think it can be that your mobile operator doesn't support this yet, or you don't have an ISIM. ISIM also enables VoLTE service and I think it also enables RCS.
You may just have a USIM which enables 4G LTE.
How do you change it, I have a Galaxy S8+
@@Ry-jl2gg you should ask your carrier if they support VoLTE and RCS. They can guide you and replace your SIM card in order to enable those services.
I have Verizon and Verizon branded Note 20 Ultra. Does support VoLTE, but this didn't work for me. The other messaging options never appeared.
@@jesseketchum1678 I think technicians at Verison should be able to help you in that case, as they are the ones who should support RCS. If the issue wasn't related to Verison, It could be a software issue. That's as far as I know.
Ridiculous that in 2020 we have to jump through hoops like this to get RCS working. Years behind Apple in this regard.
The carriers are the ones to blame. All of the big US carriers have been saying they are implementing RCS universal profiles for years. But I guess since they can't make a buck off it they don't really give a shit
