What I find interesting is that all the other people who copy/pasted this video called it jujitsu vs aikido, but the reality is that it's two guys training together and having a laugh. I wonder why people always have to pit styles against each other.
I find the same topic interesting. Style is a very subjective matter isnt it. . . . Even though it remains evident that style isnt what makes a techniques effective, its the pactioner who is the key. (Oh and how much training you do :) )
i see that the techniques are not so different between aikido and jujitsu i really would like so idea on what is the philosophy behind jujitsu? Frank Miles Ware
I don't know much but it's a bit like Aikido, you don't use strength because your opponent might be stronger, but in Aikido you use momentum whereas Jujitsu is more about leverage and body mechanics.
I Think that people are forgetting the main purpose of starting a martial art and that is the self development, both in mind and body. Compering two different styles and saying that one is better than the other isn't a good sportsmanship. Start a martial art and go see for yourself where it is effective and where not, what you can understand from that is the pros and cons. Improve and fill the gaps of yourself and the martial art you study.
Thousand year martial art of the samurai through to Takeda with weapons training to kill opponents ( Aiki Jujitsu-Japanese jujitsu= hundreds of schools throughout Japan). O'sensai incorporated a religious aspect adding the ability to cause no harm. This notion can be used in medical, security, law enforcement, etc. While the nage was very good, lets give a hand to the uke, he made it look effortless and it takes practice to protect yourself during those moves. Well done to both, a treat to watch.
Nice to see some Real Jujitsu + Aikido! Thanks for posting! -Tired of people saying Brazilian style is better....Just watch this! ... Real Martial Arts in action!
@@bencebuda4599 My daughter is currently learning Aikido. It's mainly just to help her calm down and learn some self-defense at the same time, but after she masters it, I want her to start going into JJ and Judo. Hopefully, the result will be strong defense and offense with a side of ground fighting. Ideally, she'll be untouchable by the untrained person. I don't think she'd be winning any tourneys, but some thug won't have her easy.
great video guys, as always technique looks awesome. I have strung together all my locking techniques into balance displacement techniques/throws,/reaps/sweeps and flowing to additional locks as needed. I hope to make new videos soon, just not sure how soon. Always good to watch your poetry in motion :)
Great video this is how aikido/ jujitsu should look . They are the same when you watch this video it's impossible to tell what's aikido and what's jujitsu. This is how I've always trained both .
I've been in karate (Isshinryu and Tang Soo Do) for 37 years. I've only recently started my jujitsu journey and it's amazing to see what translates from the open hand practices into jujitsu and hapkido.
I would love to see some how-to's on your favorite throws and locks. Not necessarily the basics of them, but points on the throws that you prefer or use to make them easier.
Thing is, this only shows the ukemi part of Aikido. The judoka does not attack, only the aikidoka does. If the judoka attacked the aikidoka would be able to put a technique into practice and do so well, but this doesn't afford him the opportunity.
Ah, my mistake, not judoka, I meant jiu jitsu. But I do mean that the aikidoka may be very skilled, and able to respond to many attacks, but as his role in the video is only that of uke this is not well demonstrated. No doubt the jiu jitsu practitioner is skilled, but the aikidoka is not demonstrating any defensive technique other than ukemi.
+The Random Person Also, that's how aikido works. If a person does judo it well may be more difficult for an aikidoka to get anywhere against them, but aikido is trained as all responses to attacks. Technically aikido can be used to initiate, it's just not really practiced that way. Typically in a dojo it's always uke provides an attack, nage throws/locks/etc.
Fine when you are young, but remember that Aikido is a defensive art where standing toe to toe in confrontation is not how it works. Aikido as often practised is indeed not practical, but the harm can be put back into harmony. That said, bloody good.
In order to have a better understanding of the system, the Old Master once said to understand Aikido you must study JuJitsu and to understand Jujitsu you have to study aikido, In my understanding aikido is a simplified form of it all. Understand the basics of them both and you really have something......
Many of the moves that the guy in the blue is doing are actually Aikido moves. The blending and joint manipulation are very distinct. That being said, Aikido and Jiu Jitsu are close cousins, so you're gonna see a lot of similarities.
Pretty sure BJJ is just the regular Jiu-Jitsu but without punches/kicks and without throwing the other person. Pretty obvious who would win if BJJ was put against the original Jiu-jitsu
@@DoctorUSA-m7y its simply a demonstration of technique and a bit of fun if it were a real match it would have been more fast paced and straightforward if you will. I really don't see what's wrong with the technique.
the guy in the blue gi has some control when he was doing the over the shoulder throw defence from a knife. . . very very good video :) gona see if I can get one of the lads to let me try the technique at 2.16 the next night in training :)
Awesome guys! Nice disarming techniques. I always wondered if i should train a Chinese martial art instead of this but Jujitsu would work a a lot better in my culture..
Keith Rhodes II Yes actual jujitsu. Bazilian isnt a style of it own to me. Its a sport varient that seems to over shadow the techniques that jujitsu was developed for. To me, many people seem to over look this. Granted that Hoise (forgive the spelling please) him self is a very talented practioner of the art.
You didn't see the aikido? It's When you willingly somersault through the air and land on your face in compliance with a technique, then immediately tapout like you were set on fire.. There was plenty of it..
Can these techniques be used to persuade overseas construction and maintenance contract managers to be nice to their technicians ? I am curious as to how to employ this in a politically correct manner............
As a judoka for 20+ years, I must say this demonstration was very impressive. Thanks

FrankAWare it's a really nice way to show jujitsu techniques.
i like jujitsu even that i practice aikido.
Mohammad I do aikido too but have also done a bit of jujitsu, mostly because the techniques in this video looked so cool I wanted to try them out

Wise words.
Finally, some footage of takedowns that aren't dramatisized. Just real speed and force. Not tacky sound effects. Perfect. Man, this is old too.

Absolutely, Aikido is perfect for subduing an attacker while causing minimal injury

Brazilian is just grappling i think
I'm really fucking late but BJJ derives mostly from the groundfighting techniques of Jujutsu/early Judo, with some wrestling added to the mix.

Old School Jujutsu is amazing,it's the MMA of the Samurais
One of the best jujitsu demonstration I have seen

But if the judoka needs to attack for the aikidoka to show skill, the aikidoka has no skill , cuz judoka could run takedowns all day

Both videos are splendid, both from the martial art stand point and cinematography.
Hi Michael, do you currently have, or have you considered, creating an online instructional program?
Awesome techniques to both instructors.

But is this kind of striking (high kicks, punches etc…) considerable Jujutsu?
Nice vid guys. Great skills
at 0:20 i don't see what would stop the opponent from pulling the trigger unless he was distracted wich in this case he wasn't.
Some good hip throws and arm bars. Would be good see how well old mate does in a bjj comp
always BJJ with you guys. BJJ is Weak and not appropriate for 2 onto 1
This is classic Japanese jiu jitsu. It's meant purely for self defense, not competition.
