    I used this on ALL of the exterior black plastics of my 2001 X5, and it looks new. I am truly impressed.. I might have even used it on the black metal roof rails, and it worked too, though I know that is off label. 8)

      @@bennettrice5650 Not a problem at all, and I still have about half a bottle. Washing the X5 a couple of days ago, I thought to do the conditioning again. Not too shabby for two years!

    Can you add a coating like Cquartz DLUX over the solution finish to add protection? Thanks

    • @SkyCarCare
      @SkyCarCare  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Eric, GREAT question. One of our friends swears by this method and uses Dlux... We have always used Ultima Tire & Trim for topping Solution Finish here and it works terrific.

  • @willsrestorations
    @willsrestorations 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I always recommend using Gtechniq ceramic trim restorer roughly 36 to 48 hours after application of solution finish. The results are amazing and the longevity is even more crazy. What are your views on this process

    • @SkyCarCare
      @SkyCarCare  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, in fact you’ll find we mention and recommend using Ultima Tire & Trim Guard to add durability. Additionally we mention some of our friends top with CQUARTZ Dlux with success (the Gtech trim ceramic you mention would be similar).

    I have light surface scrapes on my black plastic bumper will solution finish work to hide the blemishes. And will adams graphene spray help protect it longer or any other ceramic type protectant

    • @SkyCarCare
      @SkyCarCare  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will help hide them a little. You want to put Ultima Tire & Trim Guard on top after the Solution Finish is cured. "Graphene" products will not work as well as UTTG will.

    Couple of questions. How long after applying this product should you use a "topper" on it? Do you wait until it starts fading? Also, how quickly do you need to get excess solution off of paint and other surfaces?

    • @SkyCarCare
      @SkyCarCare  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We recommend topping it with Ultima Trim & Tire Guard after a week during your next detail or wash (assuming it is your car). Great combo! Will stop to from fading FAR longer. If the car is NOT yours and you will not see t for a long time then recommend topping it the next morning or as many hours as possible after applying the SF.

    Can you please tell me what car condition will look like when wearing off. Saw a cerakote vedio somewhere that after time it was the all cracked and peeling. Lots of spider type cracks. My husband will not be very forgiving of I put some.thing on my car and within time that happened. Please advise.

    • @SkyCarCare
      @SkyCarCare  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Sharon, thanks for the question! I have used Solution Finish going back 10 years and it will never crack. It doesn't last long enough and isn't thick or hard enough to crack. You should avoid ceramic coatings on plastic if you want to be safe. Instead go with Ultima Tire & Trim Guard for new plastics OR for really faded plastics go with this Solution Finish and then top it with the Ultima Tire & Trim Guard to increase durability.

    Hi guys, can you/would you recommend doing something like Carpro Dlux over the solution finish once cured for longer durability?

    • @SkyCarCare
      @SkyCarCare  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, we actually recommend Ultima Tire & Trim Guard over the top for improved durability but Dlux is a good option in many cases as well.

  • @bobbymorgret

    Just a heads up, its not a dye. It is a milled carbon according to Chris, the owner & inventor.

  • @armandosinger
    @armandosinger ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What’s the reason you recommend the Ultima as the sealer over Solution Finish instead of Solution Finish’s own “Over the Top” sealant?

    • @SkyCarCare
      @SkyCarCare  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ahhh, good question! Well, we have ben using Solution Finish since it was first launched over a decade ago and we have been using Ultima even longer! For many years Solution Finish did not have an "over the top" option and we shared with them a decade ago about our results with adding Ultima as a topper. So, I am sure their "over the top" is a phenomenal product as well! We just happened to already have a great solution we already sold by the time they came out with Over the Top. For that reason we never tested or added it. I expect that either is a great solution but the Ultima we have tested at length and therefore are able to recommend based on our own experience.

    Does it work well on faded window rubber trim

    • @SkyCarCare
      @SkyCarCare  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That depends on the type of rubber and the nature of its fading... GENERALLY speaking it is not going to fix something that is deteriorated and rotting, although it may make it look darker for a time. The best practice to resolving faded rubber trim is one of two options depending on the cause.
      1. - Use a polish that will not stain rubber to carefully polish the rubber by machine or with a microfiber towel by hand. Then immediately strip the polish and oils off and dress with Ultima Tire & Trim Guard.
      2. - Utilize a long haul process of cleaning it very well EVERY time you wash with rubber cleaner and a microfiber towel, slowly scrubbing the oxidation away. Then apply Ultima Tire & Trim Guard until the next time you wash. Over weeks or months, you will restore it.

    So a degreaser and alcohol for prepping the surface? Also how long can I expect this product to last?

    • @SkyCarCare
      @SkyCarCare  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes
      Depends on the quality, type, and age of the plastic. 3 months on most textured plastic. Top with UTTG as explained in the video for longer durability. The video and the info on our site will explain in more detail.

    Solution Finish states that the only prep you need is 70%-90% alcohol.
    By using that applicator and not a little foam brush, most of the product was abosrbed by the applicator.

    • @customerservice9897
      @customerservice9897 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Charles, alcohol works great in most cases but depending on what was already used on the vehicle it may not be sufficient. Some dressings do not come off fully with only alcohol and it can be helpful to wash well with an alkaline cleaner first. We do prefer to do a final panel wipe with alcohol AFTER our strip wash though. This applicator actually works well (as does a foam brush). It does absorb some initially but it is actually very little that is wasted. Foam swabs work terrific as well for the intricate areas.

    ? why couldn't I just use a black shoe polish.? Thats what this product looks like? just curious.

    • @SkyCarCare
      @SkyCarCare  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the question! It is definitely not shoe polish, just happens that a shoe polish and this product are both black. As to, why you would not just use a shoe polish, you could certainly give it a shot if you want. I have definitely never tried since I tend to use products that are designed for the goal I am looking to achieve. I would assume the shoe polish would either smear off, wash off, or look uneven.
