So here we are a year later and with all the mods I've done to the D9 MK2, I'm getting really great prints now and consistently. However, this is one thing, which is not a deal breaker. That is, while the bed has its center hole (indicator) when the prints start, they are NOT centered at all. The actual print is about 8mm to the right of the center and about 4mm towards the back. I don't want to mess with the printer's numbers in firmware, as I have them set for best print as it is. So what I'm wondering, is if there's something in Cura's Printer "Machine settings" that can be changed to center this, without messing up the actual prints? Right now, I have the following: I won't bother with the *Printer Settings* because those are only for the X, Y and Z sizes and the code flavor (RepRap) So to the left of the settings page is, *Printhead Settings* X min -40 Y min -10 X max 60 Y max 30 Gantry Height 48.0 Number of Extruders 1 Apply Extruder offsets to GCode has a checkmark The start and ending codes seem normal. The only changes I made were to Ending G-Code to add code, that at end of print, retracts the filament way up away from the gears. I did that, because before, without that, the filament would just stay down into the gears (well, lift up a bit, placing the hot filament right into the gears) which of course, jammed it. So I'm wondering if changing those *Printhead Settings* might center it without screwing up anything else. Ideas???
Hi. A point about Wanhao not making it easy to see the printer's firmware version, there is a way to display it, GOING FORWARD. Not currently. You'll see that with the updates, you copy all the graphic files up to the SD card. Those graphic files are editable, so it would be possible to manually add text to one (or more) of the graphics to show what the version is that you are updating to. There's room on the main screen and probably also on one of the graphics under Settings. Wow! As I was typing that, for the very first time, while printing, the D9 just rebooted itself in mid print! Of course, the print stopped. The ONLY change I had made was the X Axis motor numbers.... hmmmm.... Time to see what that's about.
Anthony, I know that this is over a year old, but in case you are not aware, there is an amazing thing called *Magigoo.* I had constant adhesion problems and then a person at the 3D printer store suggested Magigoo. I almost didn't buy it because at the time, it was $20 for just 1 tube. I thought that to be very expensive. But the person said that I would get hundreds of prints from this one bottle. So, I gave it a shot and I have to say, it's the best thing ever. Now, I NEVER have problems with objects sticking nor lifting on the corners. Once the print is done, you just let the bed cool down to room temperature and then the print usually just pops off with a small nudge. When done right, I can get between 5-8 printers with one application! As I type this, in fact, I'm on my 5th print with just one application of Magigoo. It took me over 1 year to finish 1 bottle. So, due to the pandemic and things being difficult to get, I found a store with stock and bought 2 more bottles. I love this stuff. Hope that helps.
Hello, from Argentina, very well explained. I have problems very often with my wanhao d9 300 and I would like to update the firmware, would you have the download link? and if you have any profile for Cura. Thank you so much !!
Hello Argentina, hope you are doing well. Please follow this link below, It will lead you to the wanhao page. If your firmware is the same then dont boarder install it again. There is a Cura for Duplicator you can download there as well. Happy printing :) www.wanhao3dprinter.com/Down/ShowArticle.asp?ArticleID=190
hi thanks for the awesome video i have a issue with my D9 500 mk2. when printing the lcd flashes on the print info screen. all other screens work fine only on print info having issues. updated firmware and flashed LCD then this issue started
Muy buena explicación de como nivelar !! Muchas gracias!!! Soy de argentina podrías pasar el perfil de simplify porque no se ve bien en wl video ...saludos
Thanks to you I am already up and running(printing) with my Wanhao D9 Mk3 300 that I got yesterday evening. Have you drawn the adapter for the filament roll yourself or have you downloaded it from somewhere?
Hello Try to ingrease temperature to 200 to 210 degrees celcius. If your filament is old then try another role. As a thum rule you can print PLA at 200C. In daubt try print a heat tower. God luck
i have the same machine and it started workin very good but now i cant finish my prints, it seems to be blocked so i cleaned the extruder but it keeps failing ! i dont know what todo do
It could be you have some filament clocked in the gear. Loosen the extruder with the 2 screws at the back and disassemble the gear and clean it. Remember to to do a bed leveling before printing again

Great video! Shouldn't you measure the bed height against the y-axis beams?
You are right, But the X axis beam is very stable on the Wanhao
