Omaha is great! Do it! If possible, live in the Downtown, Capital District, or Old Market area if you want to be within walking distance of a lot to do and see, including restaurants and breweries.

The drover is again, the best steak place in the state if you get the whiskey ribeye or whiskey fillet. 4. Alpine AGAIN is the best chicken place in the state, BRING THE KIDS. 5. I lived in Omaha for 3 years (left in 2022) and only went to ONE of the restaurants on your list (Stella's)! Crazy. I'll add a few more of my favorites. Orsi's for pizza and bread bakery; the best pizza in Omaha, imo. Dinker's Bar and Grill for a simple but FANTASTIC burger. Get N Go for fried fish. Warning; it's crazy busy and the service is often disorganized and not friendly. But the food is worth it (take out only). Bangkok Kitchen for the best Thai in the city. Hook and Lime in the Capital District for the best Mexican food (AND margaritas). Shahi Indian Grill is the best, well, Indian restaurant. Honorable mentions are Upstream Brewing Company (for beer and food), Plank Seafood, and Wilson and Washburns for the best (again, imo) rueben sandwich in the city. Lastly, Peregrine Hotel has a restaurant called the Habitat that is VERY good, AND has the best Old Fashioned drink I HAVE EVER HAD...and I've had a lot (😁). Just make sure Tyler makes it for you. Okay, how is my list?
Zio’s pizza was my favorite. And for Italian food, Roma Italian in Bellevue was amazing. There was also a little sandwich shop just south of Omaha that served hoagies and subs and stuff. Don’t remember the name but it was really good. But, Swine Dining in old town Bellevue = best bbq hands down.

I miss Lo Sole Mio and Piccolo’s. Some of my favorites: Trini’s in the Old Market has the best fajitas! Umami, although in Bellevue, has amazing sushi! The Greek Islands, J. Gilberts, Zio’s, Le Voltaire… David, if you want to find a gem of a Mexican restaurant, venture about 20 minutes outside of Omaha to Underwood, IA. Garcia’s. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
But, traffic is usually moving real good. Except the construction areas. I lived in the Chicago area for 30 years, and Omaha traffic is a piece of cake. I have been in traffic jams in Chicago for hours. Omaha drivers kind of suck though.
That is a great question! It is supposed to city's police and fire pension fund. At the time it was implemented there was talk of it being a "temporary" measure but that was at least 10 years ago.
Even though this is from a year ago you say Olsen's bake shop what about pettit's pastry just a little outside downtown next to Sol's pawn shop they have some really great Donuts and they have great service

Omaha had more restaurants per capita than any other city in America. And most have closed their doors. Kinda sad. Malaras closed their doors. Ritchie’s chicken is gone Same with Lo Sol Mios. I miss the “old places” like Piccolo Pete’s or Mr C’s and the best steak is either Cascios or Johnnys. The ones out west are chain places and fake and are “pseudo fine dining”. Dinkers and Stella’s are pretty good. Yes I’ve tried (and failed) the “Stella-nator” Mexican has to be Howard’s Charro Cafe. Pizza either Pitch, Sortinos, or even still Godfathers
David needs to update this video. Malara's is now permanently closed and Lo Sole Mio, previously owned by the Losole family, has been sold though it is still open. I think the name may have changed. I haven't been there since it sold (Italian boy with diabetes).
Alas, Lo Sole Mio is dead. For breakfast, you need to try Lisa's Radial Cafe, along the NW Radial, near downtown. It's just north of St. Cecelia's and on Sundays you need to get there before St. Cecelia's moves most of their parishioners 3 blocks north for breakfast. Sadly, Lisa has passed on, but her daughters kept it going. You will have a long wait.

Ak-Sar-Ben Village was built on the grounds of the racetrack. It’s a big development now, that has office buildings, small businesses, restaurants, hotels, and a park. It’s actually quite nice.

Wife and I really liked Gorat's Steakhouse. Also, it's Mr. Buffett's favorite steakhouse. They actually have a small side room reserved for him to use. One of the waitress's told me that pre-pandemic, he would eat there at least once a week.

Kaytlin, thanks for the comment. Try Brother Sebastians, Mahagony, Flemings, 801 Chophouse or another great place is Round the Bend. Round the Bend is further out near the Wildlife Animal Park in Gretna.

Wife and I really liked Gorat's Steakhouse. Also, it's Mr. Buffett's favorite steakhouse. They actually have a small side room reserved for him to use. One of the waitress's told me that pre-pandemic, he would eat there at least once a week.
Hi! We were down in June and had the best burger 🍔 hands 🙌🏼 down at Nite Owl 🦉! Not our favorite scene but the burger oh my gosh!! We are coming back down and wondering if you think there is a better burger than Nite Owl?! If you haven’t tried it, try it even to go and then let me know!! 😄

Mama's pizza is Omaha pizza. It's not going to be anything someone from the cost is going to like. Try Don Carmelo ot Williams port for NY style pizza. For BBQ that isn't a soggy like porky butt's go to swine dinning.

Porky Butts best Bar-B-Que?!?!?!? You have got to be kidding! We went there once because someone told us how great it was. It was unbelievably boring and mediocre. OK. We tried it. Then someone else told us how great it was. OK. Maybe we had an uncharacteristic experience the first time. We tried it again. And once again it was horribly mediocre. Not bad. But best in Omaha?!?!?!? People in Omaha have no idea what good bar-b-que is or something else is wrong. Since the place with "Mountain" in the name at 13th and Vinton went out of business there is no great Bar-B-Que in Omaha. But Rib Shack at 120th and Q is the best Omaha has to offer.

I like Hartland Barbecue in Benson. But, there’s no barbecue in Omaha that can hold a candle to the sine qua non of barbecue, that ambrosia of the gods, that is KC Joe’s… 🤤😍 The brisket! The ribs! The burnt ends! The sides! 🤤😘
