    very nice video! being able to walk through a game so clearly while talking about the general theory behind it is so helpful versus only talking about it or watching a 'proof of concept' vs ai game. knocking it out of the park as usual keep it up!

    Nice guide man,
    I remember harstem having another rule.
    Matching the same gas count as the zerg when on 3 bases or more :D

    Very well done. In some pro tutorials, the instructor is vague on when to expand, leaving the toss player pretty clueless!

    Great video, Hushang! Definitely think that these heuristics are a great way to simplify an otherwise complex facet of the game. I’m a D2 Mech Terran player (meaning I could totally be wrong), but I sort of figured out a similar rule for Terran, and I was wondering what you thought of it. I’m a pretty greedy player, but against all three races, I follow the “One more base” rule. I will never have expanded more than one time more than my opponent has. I feel like against T and P, this makes sense since they have fairly similar economies and production (compared to Z), so I generally feel pretty comfortable defending any X-base timings or all-ins while i’m on X+1 bases. Against Z, things can get a little more dicey if I have one MORE base than the Z, but I feel like Terran’s ability to fortify a position and also take a safe CC to float to the actual mineral patch makes it doable to still defend X-base all-ins while working on the X+1th base.
    But again, only a D2 player, so I was wondering what your take on this rule is from a Terran perspective (and maybe specifically a mech terran perspective)

    • @HuShang
      @HuShang  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah the rule x+1 for TvP/TvT defending all ins is fine but vs Z x = x is better. The rule is also x+1 for PvT/PvP so it's just a slightly different rule for zerg basically. There's some additional complexity like how many workers but you're on the right track for defining some boundaries to follow :)

    I like the idea. Using an example where Zerg takes a very late natural is a bit misleading. Im D2, and mostly zerg will have the 2nd and maybe 3rd up while trying to bust the front.

    How did you check that there's no hatch at one of the thirds early on? And also how do you know there's not a third when you moved across with the adepts? It didn't look like you checked either explicitly until the prism move out at 6:00.

    • @HuShang
      @HuShang  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't because of his opening. Other than the adepts there wasn't any way of me scouting, his speed was too quick for a probe. The adepts got all the info I needed by seeing lair/roach warren.

    ugh omg i cant believe there is nothing on the trap that just happened but zerg set up their expansion right next to me and rushed crawlers and queens and there was literally nothing i could do

    • @HuShang
      @HuShang  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We were just practicing against that rush last night in the group practice. Its a tricky one! Perfectly defendable with some scouting and a solid reaction

    I had no idea immortals could be so good against Queens. I am unsure of wy with the same number of bases Protoss have an advantage. It always seems Protoss units are mpre expensive than Zerg.

    This was very helpful, however i ve seen players go hatch first and only used it for macro, in their nat not main, then if their ling flood would fail they ll just drone up in their expantion, if i dont get my nexus cuz of the all in... am i behind?

    • @HuShang
      @HuShang  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hatch first = you can expand normally. Did i missunderstand your question? The rule is to expand once they have

    • @aliafshar1366
      @aliafshar1366 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HuShang they go hatch first but they dont drone just use the hatch for its larvas, then if their ling flood fails, they drone up, but i have to defend the flood , and if i somehow manage to survive they have their hatch at their natural. My question is, do i get my nexus, cuz
      the principle of the matter is similar to 14 pool but with more larvas and an option to drone up

    Conceptually why are 22 probes better than 22 drones? (you make that comment)

    • @HuShang
      @HuShang  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mostly that the zerg units arent as efficient cost for cost so zerg generally needs a bit more worker
