I discovered your BoTW from Reddit not too long ago. Most of them seemed pretty out dated but I decided to give them a look. I really appreciated how in depth they were. Thats when I realized that your name was the one I kept seeing on the spawning tool B.A. I decided to look you up on YT and at the time you hadn’t posted any new content. I decided to follow anyways in hopes you would come back. Love these build orders of the week. Glad they are back. Thanks!
Thanks so much! That's awesome that there's still people that are looking at some of those old guides. I appreciate the kind words and the dono :) I'll try to do more of these in the future, but it likely won't be on a weekly basis again.
Awesome man ! plat 3 here ! I spend many month on mechanics and improve a lot, now with this build to keep many tips etc it gonna be huge ❤❤❤ all the best from France Mate 🎉🎉🎉😊
Eyyy this looks amazing Gemini! Played Probe's 2 base all CIA beginner build to mid diamond and this looks like a nice transition and to get practice with disruptors
Can you link me/be clear which youtube page has Probe's 2 base all in? Im a mid plat protoss who finds it very hard to go to 3 bases successfully vs Z. Thanks and glhf!
great guide! Learned a lot as a silver ladder player. this was one of the best build guides I have seen, to the point, but includes all necessary detail.
thank you so much, I just returned to sc2 and this build was exactly what I needed, most pros tell you to go oracle first but I like getting the voidray for the same reasons you said in the video
Great guide, thank you. A suggestion: I stumbled upon this in the spawning tool and in addition to the replays a SALT encoding for the build order would be really cool. I really like the SALT Tool in order to practice build orders so I don't have to look over to my 2nd monitor all the time. As it already exists for this build I guess there is no need anymore.
Thank you for this video, it helped me a lot. But my friends (they are zerg players) keep rushing me before 4th minute. How do i counter a big amount of zerglings so early? I build wall every time but before my army becomes big enough there are too many baneligs already blowing up my defence wall. Maybe there are any tips on how to stop this?
I mention how if you are scared of an early all in or scout it then you should put down an early shield battery and overcharge it with the stalker in the wall. That will soak up a huge amount of banelings and you can warp in sentries to forcefield to help keep anything else out at the same time.
So it depends a bit on what is happening. But generally someone trying to go into hydras first will either die or lose their 4th to the chargelot/archon attack because charge/archon is just good against hydra openers. But if the game goes longer I would suggest going into storm instead of disruptors and then straight into carriers if they're going for lurkers. Just play defensive and send some zealot waves around the map to distract them while you get 6+ carriers and then you should be totally fine vs any lair tech armies.
everything depends on situations. All beyond first minutes cant be an automatic process through the entire techtree just because u can do it. Pool first? Need second gate or forge fast. Mutalisks? Then voidray is useless. Lurker? Need observers. And so on. Si, u are a good player, and probably 100 or 1000 times better then i would ever be. But a theory guide trough an entire game, that will defnitetly not work each game.
The purpose of this video (and any build order guide) is to offer a framework and general game plan for someone to follow to feel some sort of structure in their games so as to not be lost. Yes there's many things that can happen in a game of starcraft that causes you to deviate from your build order, but covering all those things is not the purpose of this video. I did offer a short section for dealing with some of them which was part of why I made the video, but to cover every single thing every time in every build order would be redundant (many other resources offer those examples) and a waste of time. To respond to your specific examples: Pool first responses have been covered in many videos and require a totally different response so it would be useless to mention in this video. There is zero chance a player will have mutalisks out at any time close to when this first void ray is being made. If they were even trying for that it would be painfully obvious and you would easily be able to pivot. The build order gets an oracle and a robo at standard times long before lurkers would ever be out on the field and so detection is readily available for a lurker play. Starcraft players, especially lower league ones, often find themselves jumbled and confused without direction when playing a game. Build order guides are meant to give them something to base their play off of as a guideline and to adjust and adapt to their own games. Something that has been useful for decades at this point.
Keep up the good work, Dylan! Nice guide, really appreciate the effort

@@hamzaoner1701 I know I'm super late but first result for "beginner protoss build order" on TH-cam if you still want it
This is a great guide for a returning player (haven't played since 2019)! More stuff like this please.

Sheesh this is fantastic 😢 Thank you so much for making this! Excited to get back on the ladder and try it out

Very nice! Was hoping for a new build to try out 😊
the passion endures... love to see it
Excellent guide man, can you please create a ladder build for PvP? I feel lost at the matchup currently. Thank you in advance.
Thanks Gemini! I'd be up for more.
This is amazing! Thanks so much for sharing!!!
wow, that is such a nice build! gonna try it :)
Any chance you have some recent replays you can link? The ones in the description don’t work. Thanks for the build!
Can you post more replays of this? Cant view the other ones.
Oh shoot I forgot that patches replays are broken. I'll try to get another uploaded.

any tips to hit the disruptor shots? other than just trying them out a lot? ha
I have a pretty ancient disruptor video, but a lot of the mechanics are still the same

Does this build work vs mass hydra/lurker?

@RD-uk6wt - your comment doesn't make any sense - this is a framework video, and a clear one at that
