Also I suggest you use hard compound tires so fully expose the suspensions flaws adjust it until you no longer under steer and it will give you the grip/drift your looking for. Then go to your grip tires you will feel like your on rails

While this is true, if he plans on running slicks eventually a grippy street tire would still be the best choice. More tire grip will translate to more suspension load fully exercising the geometry/damping.

Hey Adam, nice times out there! The slicks I was running happened to be a set of heat cycled out Pirelli dh compound, I typically run hoosier but just went out to practice that day and the car felt extremely good. Hopefully I’ll see you out there soon and we can do some lead/follow.
And I’ll have to drop the 1:12.5 down to keep you busy 😋

Full interior sure but just about everything he’s touched has made it lighter. Subframes, driveshaft, Ti exhaust. And this TEs are dumb light btw.
Gutting the car, removing the AC and heat would probably shave somewhere around 75lbs.
You do realize the Porsche also has a full trim, AC, weights around 300KG more, outputs around the same power, a bit more, worse tires for that matter and that he got used to the Evo already, unlike the Porsche, right ? Last time he tracked it he wasn't going nearly as hard as he does with the Evo. The 911s huge rear aero ain't going to do shit either way if you don't really drive it at the max, so scrap that one of your list while we're at it. As great as the Evo might be, there's still a lot of improvement to be made inside the Porsche (that is driving wise) to say the Evo is better than the 911.
I believe if you bought both cars right off the showroom floor and took them straight to the track, Evo wouldn't stand a chance and if you put the same tires on both cars, drove them just as hard, the GT3 would come out on top. That being said, it's impressive what the Evo can do with someone behind the wheel like Adam, well done man!
When you have a cheaper car you obviously gonna care less so evo will do unless you a billionaire that doesn’t give a shit

It's supposed to be a daily/track car, he shouldnt cage it, but knowing Adam he'll get caught up in his own hype.
Try the Yokohama A052s too. It you're not camber limited, then they've proven to be even faster than the RE-71R. More forgiving as well.
Dan Simms, it’s worth a shot for sure. That’s the spec tire at World Time Attack Challenge.

World time attack are A050 not A052. The evo would do low 1.13 easy on A050 and they're not even a full slick.
A DOT race slick is on average a second faster than a fast 200tw tire like the RE71R on a one minute course. The A052 is faster than the 71R given he has a few laps to put some heat into them. I would also head straight for the A7/R7 if he is leaving street tires. Hoosiers are without a doubt the fastest without going to a non-dot slick.

James H I think his evo has ceramic brakes, my evo has them as well. It squeaks very loudly until they warm up. Also a lot of evos have this issue, it’s just the type of brakes
As soon as you know you're going in you should just let go, but I think it takes us all that first time to hit a wall before you consciously think about it. I'm just happy my first wall had tyres in front of it.

That Evo kills it on the track. You would get faster with no lift shift or a sequential and still be able to run a street tire
NGL I kinda wish you played with the active yaw control that this car came with from the factory... get familiar with the old tech appreciate the reasoning behind it . Then rip it out and go to town on it 🤖🤘🤘🤘
I drove it for a while with AYC. The subframe I got is intended to delete it for an RS diff because the AYC is highly prone to failure at its limit

For me I need to work harder against my brain to focus on what to do. I tend to let my fear of crashing take over... (bad experience happened in my past)
You can add a thin layer of silicone to the backplate of the brake pads to minimize the squeaking
I doubt even High Temp Silicone is going to endure a few laps on track.
Oiling the rotors also helps alot
It’s the composition of the pads there probably full metallic pads which are going to squeak no matter what my evo X had them from the factory and they squeaked with not even 50 miles on the car

2 seconds on slicks is a big maybe my friend. You have to realise that with anything the faster you go, the harder it becomes, exponentially to go any faster. 2 seconds on such a small track translates to a much higher average speed. might need loads more horsepower and downforce. So dont be dissapointed if those slicks only yield you less than a second from one PR to the next.
Also a couple said this, but common knowledge in the time attack world. But you're changing too much at once. You should test on a lower grip tire until it fully feels good and youve fully reached the limit for mechanical grip and balance
The first lap with the log going u could really see how quick and down to the wire ur reactions and technique is getting. A heap of improvement even just from the beginning to the end of this video. Yet again, we’ll done Adam:)

Adam learn to use left foot braking. It comes in handy and you can even accelerate while tapping the brakes slowly creating a controlled speed up when entering and exiting corners and during corners. You can shave off hundreds of seconds.

Yes, the RE-71R is better than most 100 Treadwear. Hence why autocrossers use it in their street class. Now, I have the Yoko A052 and I love them. I wonder if they last longer in heat than the RE-71R

Aggressive brake pad compound. They usually have a higher metal content than your typical everyday street pad. Metal allows more vibration noise.
