So many more people could've survived if they hadn't inflated their life jacket. This is why it's so important to listen to the pre flight safety briefings.
I’ve seen this episode on another channel, but decided to watch it again here anyway. This captain was seriously a badass! He handled this way better than most would have. I can't imagine having his level of calmness and clear thinking under such horrible circumstances. He really is the reason so many survived. I’ll also freely admit it was this episode that taught me why you don’t inflate your life jackets until after you've gotten out of the plane. Of course it's obvious when you stop and think about it, but this gave a sadly tragic demonstration of it.
To me, this is the 2nd-wildest accident clip caught on camera I've ever seen in my life, only 9/11 footage is worse in my opinion. Rest in peace to those innocent passengers who had nothing to do with this
Yes! The film of the planes flying into the WTC is horrific. The impact is tangible. The French film maker was making a documentary about a rookie fireman nearby. I think was the only person to get footage of the first plane. The documentary he made is on TH-cam I think. It’s well worth a watch. He gets a lot of footage from inside the tower and is almost killed himself. There is quite a lot of footage of disasters caught on camera. Esp these days when most people have a phone on them at all times. However film of plane crashes is rare. The short video of Concord on fire and the one of the rescue of the passengers in the icy Potomac river after Air Florida flight 90 forgot to put on their deicing on a freezing winter day and there happened to be a news camera man stuck in a traffic jam on the bridge and he had his camera with him. I’m guessing you have seen that footage. The helicopter pilot was just amazing as was the medic in the copter with him.
29:40 Narrator: This 40 million dollar aircraft has become a 100 ton glider the plane is out of fuel and Abate is out of options a crash landing in the sea is all but inevitable
The level of stupidity of the hijackers is astounding.
somebody had to say it
The real courage was in continuing to fly after this trauma.

Might have been hard when you know. Can’t hear the captain because the three stooges.
To have been hijacked THREE times and to still be a pilot, man is a legend. 😮

After three hijackings, he probably felt like nothing could stop him anymore.

29:32 Captain Leul Abate: that's it both engines are out that's it IS THIS WHAT YOU WANTED
Hard to believe that could happen to a Boeing 767! He is the Ethiopian sully!
Agree. 767 should not be allowed for hijack! Why 767 hijack?

The possibility of survive a emergency landing in water are very low over ground.
38:27 Finally, I knew that I'm not the only one who talks to an aircraft as an aircraft. Here is the captain doing exactly just that
The Captain is brilliant
Captain's CV: 11,000 flight hours, survived 3 highjackings...
It’s so sad that nobody reacted except for a man with one arm.
I just want to know if the babies made it. I haven’t finished it yet, but the suspense is killing me.
Great video !
How do you find your own passport after all that?... that is the most miraculous thing
Luck I guess
THIS is why we reinforce cockpit doors and keep locked at all times
They are, now there are codes on cockpit doors to prevent hijackers 1 normal and 1 emergency code
Still the cockpit has flaws. If one person manages to lock everyone else out, then it’s a problem even if the rule of two in the cockpit is enforced.
@@Tuturial464 it's true like those pilots who committed suicide and Locked the cockpits from inside.
Great works
what an absolute chad of a pilot. I hate the devil
@MaydayAirDisaster y’all should do a documentary on Ethiopian airlines flight 302 if there’s enough story to it
Mayday has already made an Episode on ETH 302. Season 24 Episode 10 (or 8 I forgot). It's currently available on TV
Is there going to be anything new coming up?
No.
Cool hijack video! Thank you for this awesome history❤
Very sad hijacking :(
@Send-12 really?
@Send-12 nah it was someone else also i cant find where you commented about happy 200 subs
If your going to hijack please be educated. Its the least you can do.
lol the idiot saw the max plane range thought ok we can go to australia..🤦♂
What’s wrong with these people? Think what would have happened if the passengers on Flight 93 had just sat in their seats.

Next video the last hour of flight 175
Bro if you have no new content then stop uploading the same old videos. I'm sure this is at least the 4th or 5th time you uploaded this story.
Please do SANSA Flight 32 and LIAT Flight 319 🙏🙏🙏
BRO PLZZ MAKE LONG VIDEOS FOR LIKE 30 MINS
REAAAAL BADMAN
I got one serious question about that video. How did a Boeing 767 passenger jet get hundreds of millions off course?
What are you talking about??
Maybe you should watch the video. It answers your question.
The pilot played Drake's dad on Degrassi The Next Generation.
Could harkins land that plane?
Kenyans stand out everywhere...wow
Hi
I hate how they interview the people eddpacislly in hijackings like of this captsin got shot but we know he survives
hijacker looks like young lebron james lol
Planes need airbags or some way to float.
Too much weight.... Planes are already capable too glide to land on land
Was Ethiopian a good airline at the time
Yes, it and another African airline had high ratings.
It was and still is a good airline.

If he hadn't turned the plane, he would have performed the Sullenberger
@@anthonylilly6862 He had to turn it because he was ditching it in Ocean not River he had to ajust it to waves
And he was with the stooges
Why men hate peace

stay out of planes
He is no Sully Sullenberger, that’s for sure.
To be fair, Sully didn't have hijackers in his cockpit, he had his copilot, and he had ATC.
Sully wasn't fighting terrorists when he made his landing. This was an incredible ditching that came close to being successful.
Landing on the ocean is completely different than landing on a river.
Captain leul abate was flying a Boeing with the engines hanging below the fuselage
