Hi Rebecca-I am stunned by the beauty of your collection. You have put so much hard work into your displays and your dolls are gorgeous! Thanks for inspiring all doll collectors everywhere!
Hello THIS IS DROP DEAD GORGEOUS.what a fantastic collection.I can see than you put a lot of love in collecting Barbie. All the settings are perfect, fresh, hightly stylish,so full of good taste and so well put together. You are so lucky to have a room to gather them all together.Thank you for sharing it is the most enjoyable Barbie posting i ever saw.......
Lovely barbie doll collection and layout, would love to see your reviews or barbie hauls if you have gotton new dolls since then. I just wanted to know whether dust was ever a problem and how do you manage to not have your dolls dusty?
OMG i browsed through just about every barbie collectors collection and i still have not seen any that even come close to your collection I just cant stop viewing your slideshow it is like any barbie collectors dream oh my im so fasinated i could watch this all day long lol :) I love it thank you so much for sharing your dolls you should like do a magazine you have some much taste and style are you still adding more if so cant wait to see
Its me again OMG i browsed through just about every barbie collectors collection and i still have not seen any that even come close to your collection I just cant stop viewing your slideshow it is like any barbie collectors dream oh my im so fasinated i could watch this all day long lol :) I love it thank you so much for sharing your dolls you should like do a magazine you have some much taste and style are you still adding more if so cant wait to see
i especially love Skipper's blue suitcase! i've never seen that one before. Mattel made official miniature reproductions of some of the old 1960s Barbie doll cases as Christmas ornaments and key chains. Theyre pretty good 1:6 scale and they really do open! the 1964 Skipper and her 1965 friends are my favorites, so i got all the miniature ornaments Mattel made and i use them as accessories for Skipper and her friends. i'm jealous my Skipper doesn't have that blue suitcase though.
Awesome doll collection (i'm drooling here) and i love the way you present the dolls. It must take quite some time to dust everything. Ohh, you could lock me up in that room for a week. No food or water required LOL.
Wow those are amazing barbie room. I know that most of your babie is wearing their original clothes, but do you ever change their clothes and were are you buying clothes? I'm starting to collect barbie, hopefully anyways. But love your room and collection.
I came across this video 8 years ago when I started to collect Silkstones. Last night I felt like coming back to it. Still to this day, it’s my favorite collection video.
Thank you so much! I am glad it gives you joy. It is a happy place for me still although I need to do a new video because the displays have changed :-)
Thank you OfficiaLGraceStudios! I am glad you enjoyed the video. The furniture in all the dioramas were purchased around the world. If there is one specific piece you need info on, let me know. Audrey Hepburn is a favorite of mine as well!
Everything is so beautiful and elegant. I have a question about the furniture you can see at min 3.28. Is that from the Susy Goose brand? I have almost the same vanity bench, but i had neve seen that type of armorchair or that bed. Also, would you have any other brand to advise for someone looking for this style of barbie furniture ?
Thank you scout85! The furniture in this diorama at 3:28 is actually 1:6 Bespaq. It was made in a very limited run so very few pieces exist. You will see it come up for sale every once and a while on Ebay. Some companies are starting to manufacture furniture like this and they mostly sell on Ebay. I would check with Small World Minis or customdollhouseaustralia on Ebay. I have purchased from both of these vendors and have been happy with their products.
they are all so so pretty , im just starting my very own collection and so far i only have 1 of the barbies you have well im picking it up on monday its the Gold label 2008 campus sweetheart vintage reproduction. i cant wait till i get it and cant wait till i have a beautiful collection like you...love it!
@babybearcub The LV like luggage is actually from a company called Integrity Toys. This set was made for their Fashion Royalty line ( designed by Jason Wu) and is called"Jet Set Luggage Coco" You can also find this on Ebay from time to time. The set has been sold out at retailers for years.
Thank you so much for the lovely comments Iiriskarcha! The display for "In the Pink" is a Silkstone Display case that was made in 2001. I found this one through and ebay auction. There were only about 175 of them made. The furniture inside the case is 1:6 scale Bespaq. I am so glad you enjoyed the photos of my "playroom".
@dolllover21 Thank you! The doll at 4:21 is Tout de Suite Silkstone Barbie by Mattel and she is wearing an outfit by DAE and was part of the "weekend in New York" giftset.
Thank you...Grazie! for the lovely comment. At 4:42 there are two dolls with dogs. The one on the left in white suit and hat is a Lingerie number 4 silkstone wearing a Chanel inspired suit by La Boutique. The doll to the right in white is Muffy Roberts Silkstone wearing a white dress and hat by Miniature Couture. The poodles are by Randall Craig.
Thank you for your comments. The furniture in that room is 1:6 scale Bespaq and is difficult to find. Try ebay. The pink dolls are all wearing clothing from different places. The back left blond is a Skutka OOAK. The doll in the middle and in the back right are in DAE fashions. The doll in the front right is wearing Dressmaker Details "Savior Flair". The doll in front left is wearing OOAK fashion by Miniature Couture. The purse and bag are La Boutique.
Thank you very much for the kind comments mrshondab1! While I would really like to help you out on the Silkstone case, reproducing the background would be a violation of Mattel's copyright. I really wish Mattel would just sell that backdrop to collectors who want it as it makes such a great background for display and photos.
@gabbyiloveclothes220 Thank you for the comments! I am not entirely sure I know which ones you are asking about so I will try my best. At 2:17 the brunette in pink and black ball gown is "Film Noir" Barbie. She was 2006 NBDCC doll. At 2:17 the blond on left in green and black ball gown in Lisette Silkstone Barbie. At 3:07 the blond in blue suit is Tweed Indeed Barbie in Dressmaker Details "Today Boucle". At 4:27 is Toujour Couture Silkstone Barbie in DAE "Touring Provence".
@hilowextreme Thank you! I have been collecting for about 8 years. My favorite changes very often. Every time I add something to my collection, it becomes my favorite...until the next one LOL!
@daniel72988 Hi. The doll at 2:22 in the pink dress is a Birthstone Beauty Barbie that I restyled with a 1940's hairstyle and she is wearing a Joe Tai gown with a fur jacket made by a friend of mine. Hope this answers your question.
I'm glad you like the displays! I get playscale furniture from all over. If there is a particular piece you are interested in just give me the time it appears in the video and I can try and narrow down where I got it if you are interested.
Thank you for the lovely comments! Prima Ballerina goes on sale next Wednesday so I don't have that one yet (eagerly anticipating though). Perhaps you saw Stolen Magic in the pink and white Dressmaker Details outfit called "pretty" ?? She bears a strong resemblance to the Silkstone ballerina about to be released.
@daniel42535 The two dolls in pink are Pink Soiree Silkstone Barbie(left). She is a platinum level doll they released a couple of years ago. The other is Stolen Magic Silkstone Barbie(right) wearing a Dressmaker Detail outfit called "Pretty".
Thank you for the wonderful comment! I am glad you enjoyed it and congratulations on your Ken collection. Dusting is a commen question. I use compressed air to dust in the doll room and displays get changed around from time to time so things get thoroughly cleaned and dusted then. Hope that answers your question.
Thank you! The collection is a always changing. Some leave the island as new ones come in. I think last time I actually counted, the number was around 300...but honestly it's probably more.
omg! where did you get all the little Barbie suitcases and hatboxes @ 0:40 - 1:00 ? especially Skipper's little blue suitcase? i know they're miniature reproductions of the full-size 1960s Barbie luggage and cases, but i've never seen them before. where did you get them? and do they really open?
Hi Debbie. I find the furniture pieces all over the world. Occasionally I will make some pieces or customize pieces I have purchased. If there is a specific piece you are interested in the provenance for, just let me know either here or on the blog. Most people just give me a time on the video of a piece they are interested in.
Hey Debbie. The black and cream empty chairs at 2:02 are resin picture frame/trinket boxes I found at a store many years ago. They just happened to be the right scale for 1/6 dolls. Regarding the white pit group...if it's the set that inside the Silkstone display case then those are all 1/6 Bespaq that I found just by chance on ebay. I think I was just in the right place at the right time :-)
Thank you! I'm not sure when I will get around to making a new video of the collection. I am hoping to do an updated version soon but time will tell. You can see updated photos of new displays on my blog at Inside the fashion doll studio dot com
LOL! No food or water around the collection heehehe. Thank you for the lovely comment. I am glad you enjoyed the slideshow. It actually doesn't take that long to dust and I admit it's a job I like.
Thank you! I will update when I have a few spare moments to reshoot this room ;-) Feel free to follow the blog for some glimpses of more at www.insidethefashiondollstudio.com
