He was telling me that the previous Owner Leon turned up a few weeks ago Still unscrewing items from the House to sell on eBay. The hole back Garden is totally Stripped of everything from Spanner’s nuts bolts to working Machines there is absolutely Nothing left of Fred but the New owner has some good plans so it’s in good hands Now god bless Fred
It’s bloody awful to live in now, no one seems to give a toss for other peoples feelings, and social media has turned people into salty toxic horrors. Even though I like some technology I’d gladly go back to the simpler days of the late 70s and 80s when something simple like going to buy a music lp was such an enjoyable experience like opening up the album and seeing lyrics and info about the band etc. Just an example of simple things that were wonderful then.
The guy who bought it eventually turned out to be a bit of a crook. Once he had milked the heritage centre for all he could he resorted to selling off all of Fred’s stuff. Surprised he didn’t come out and charge you for filming.
If Fred had been a famous sports person, I have no doubt his entire property and possessions would have been instantly made a National Trust site with everything saved and made into a working museum-preserved for posterity-incredibly sad. It sickens me to know there are people on this planet that will plunder and sell such treasures-. R.I.P. Fred, thankfully we have your contributions to society on film and tape. Well wishes from an 85 year old Yorkshireman who left the sad mess called England, for a better life down under. I am out of a similar mould- be it "A Life In Science “. But with many interests and pursuits in engineering, optics, playing musical instruments, landscape painting, etc. I so fully appreciate what men have done to put the Great in once Great Britain. Considering the amount of people worldwide that have an enduringly deep respect for Fred and his work, it is surprising that his house which he did so much restoration work on, is not maintained or open to the public as a heritage site. Very nice slate work by the way.... Perhaps Bolton council found Fred's kind of original approach to life a bit too challenging to support and celebrate? If so, how sad is that!
I guess (like a lot of things these days), it's easier to celebrate and acknowledge all his great achievements in life on here, the internet. But to get people motivated and get them to visit his house would be a different thing entirely, I guess there isn't as much appetite or interest as there once was, shame really.
He must be Turing in his grave, the man was an absolute British icon, and these fuckers have destroys his years of work restoration, they should be hung and I'm pissed off with the local council not protecting it, it's was a museum built buy him and his good mates, how people can been so dog disrespectful, , they should of looked after it, protected it, Fred was and still us in my eyes a top top man, and these bastards stripping his steam engines breaks my heart, all the years he put into it, how can people be so cruel, just for abit of scrap metal?? I just found this man Fred Dibnah's story on youtube a week ago, riveted to my tablet and blazed through every video there is of him. I wonder if his kids had sold the place? Any word of his kids in British media? That man was a working machine, kids here in the U.S. don't know what hard work is.

Oh what an awful shame and a disgrace that Fred's home wasn't saved as a heritage centre. This world isn't a nice place to live in sometimes.
