nice to see a vid based on a comment I did last year, its great to see a youtuber that listens and interacts with their comments :) Love the channel take care mate.
Cheers Al, ours has been doing this for ages so got the lid off to have a look.Looks totally different to yours but unscrewed it it any way and it came off.Washer looked fine still dead straight and couldn't remove the end but found the washer just pulled off. When i went to try it back in i think i might have found the problem all along.A screw had wedged itself inside the unit when fitted (not by me) so could have been stopping the washer fully sealing.Back together now and no water leaking so far fingers crossed 😂
Hi ,Hope your both well, very well explained video. Had to do mine last month and works a treat now. The fill valve was also making a loud whisling when filling up but is silent now thanks to a new top washer replaced. Amazing how such a small piece of rubber can cause so many problems. Enjoy your week 😊😊💦🚽🪠
We have push button flush. It’s fine until you flush AND THEN the water continues to run unless you jab the button, which then stops it. There are small bore tubes running from the back of the push button, not sure if this is a different issue?
I've got a Geberit push-button and am told that the column clips out from the bottom - but I can't find the clips and it doesn't want to twist out either. Any tips would be welcome. Thanks for all your helpful videos!
My cystern inlet drips constantly so I tied the ball valve up and it stopped but all the water drained from the tank. It appears to be dripping because it's emptying rather than emptying because it's dripping🤔
Bloody hell, that was quick. This happened to one of my loos and not knowing any better removed the whole cistern to replace the entire flushing mechanism, good to know for next time.
The original washers in my Ideal cistern were black rubber but the new replacements are clear synthetic - better, a cheaper substitute or just the same?
Is it possible for the seal between the housing where the button mechanism sits and the pan to be leaky? I've replaced washers, changed systems and done everything and I just cannot stop the water running at the back. I think maybe it's an issue with the housing not sealing with the bottom of the porcelain. When I unscrew that housing, it seems to me like the connecting unit below is slightly out of line. Tearing my hear out!
The syphon is sticking on the return. Take it out and clean it up and make sure it works properly before fitting it back. If no luck then get a new syphon.

Thanks, you too!
The timing of this, is scarily telepathic!
I must have known ha ha.

Well done Bill.

The vacuum unit behind your push button can be at fault.
Try swapping the tubes round to confirm 1 or 2 diaphragm are faulty ( half and full flush)
Thanks for answering .

They do clip out from the bottom but the clips may be wedged against the side of the cistern. Or you may have one of the old ones that do not split.

Change the washer in the syphon.

Great

It is possible unfortunately.
The only problem i had was finding a replacement washer, Is there a good source you know of?
Local plumbers shop is usually best.
@@dereton33 thx. i will take the old unit as a pattern
I also have the issue commented above. If I jab the flush button once or twice then it stops. What is the actual solution for fixing this?
The syphon is sticking on the return. Take it out and clean it up and make sure it works properly before fitting it back. If no luck then get a new syphon.
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Where’s the link for the ones which don’t just twist and pull out
Have a search on my channel it`s there somewhere.
Thank you sir.
Most welcome
