Thank you so much! Normally my dad would be the one fixing things in the house. We lost him 2 yrs ago so we’ve been learning how to manage small repairs.

@@GuacamoleyNacho I must be lucky to have a supportive dad.. He was the one who had patience and gave encouragement when I would assemble or tinker with small things, while my mom would scold me and do the thing herself, because it was faster and more efficient. Reason why I wasn’t able to learn much with her 😅
Thank you, it’s good to know that we are capable of doing so much more. It’s good that almost everything can be learned in the internet. Saves a lot of money too.

Thanks. Really useful info. Helped me eliminate the syphon and the inlet valve as the cause of the problem (new installation). Even with water-off, syphon removed and just a residual cm of water in the bottom of the cistern, it was still trickling. In my case root cause was poor sealing of the syphon base to the cistern ceramic surface (jagged surface finish of the ceramic) . Fixed with silicone :)

@@dereton33 im a bit worried tonight will be leaking again..
i forgot to mention that while the water was coming out from the toilet seat ( from the top and not from the base) my shower plate was filled up with water too..., the fire brigates couldnt figure out why ....they even asked me wether i had poured it over myself...
now the WC is totally dry and im afraid it'll be leaking again in the next hours..
      thanx again though

Thank you so much. My toilet cistern kept randomly filling up hours after flushing. I noticed the water trickling from the cistern into the bowl. Followed your vid, the seal was caked in limescale as was a lot of the flush valve. Cleaned it all off in white vinegar now all is good. Might have to soak in limescale remover every few months.
