    If you were ever thinking about getting out to check Belmont out, now is the time. Spring is definitely the best Belmont season IMO

      are the trails easy to find from Chamounix Equestrian Center where you park? I went to check the trails out today and parked at Belmount Plateau and it was very hard to find the trail head. I should've researched a bit better before going...kind of a last minute decision after work. but I would like to try again.

    I'm pretty local to this trail and I've been getting into riding recently around the valley forge trails, and have ridden the wissahickon valley trails as well. Didn't know that these were here so I guess I'm going to be checking them out in the spring! Thanks for sharing

    Who knew, I'm not only from Philly but Wynnefield, exactly where you are riding. I was running to be the state rep for that area when Arlen completed that pump track. I used go to Valley Green to MTB. Please don't tell me that was in my backyard the whole time...

    • @PhillyMTB
      @PhillyMTB  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok I won't tell you that 😂😂. Although the flowier stuff was built more recently so it wouldn't have been the same back then. Much techier with lots of log overs

    • @PhillyMTB
      @PhillyMTB  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Sage! Yeah I was a tad conflicted when they first built the new trolley trail a few years ago, but I think they've struck a good balance in preserving the "classic" Belmont along with the creation of the new stuff stuff that aligns with the multi-user/multi-skill goals PPR has for the system. I will say that the most recent trail they cut from Belmont Ave had me scratching my head a bit as I didn't see the need to replace what was there

    • @PhillyMTB
      @PhillyMTB  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Definitely a fun ride and sticking to the loop I did ( you can follow my strava linked in the description) it should be with a beginners skill level. Even if you explore the more technical trails, the difficulty is more about all of the log overs so worst case you're dismounting, but you won't come across sections where you'd get hurt, etc for to difficulty

    Can you help a 59yr with a beginner trail in Philadelphia

    • @PhillyMTB
      @PhillyMTB  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Most of what I rode in this video are great for beginners (albeit at slower speeds). Belmont is better than the wiss for beginners as there is much less elevation and technical riding (and less hikers), although a beginner can have a great time in the wiss, but will probably walking up and down some stuff. I've also heard pennypack park as a great beginner trail system in northeast philly, though I haven't ridden it myself.
