    Great content. Looks like some well built trails. I've been a bit intimidated by french creek because it looks like a maze on trailforks. Your videos are a huge help when putting together a loop.

    My brother and I sled down some of these in the winter time. (None of the paths in this video. There are other paths more straight and less rocky)

    Digging the format bud! Never been to Birdsboro, not even on my radar, but now I'm thinking it's worth the drive.

      Thanks Roman. Definitely worth scoping out. Between, french, birdsboro and mt. Penn there are a ton of options if you're heading that way

    What's your favorite Birdsboro trail? I think mine is Ramble On followed by Good Day Sunshine in the second spot...

    • @TrailSage

      Ramble On has my vote! Zed's is a close second.

      @@TrailSage you gotta check out good day sunshine (divebomb on strava) if you haven't ridden it. I just looked on strava and only a couple have even ridden it once I think it's relatively new and it's definitely unique for our area.

      @@PhillyMTB I might have to check that out. Is it a loop or out and back?

      @@TrailSage it's a one way (19% average grade) descent off S Miller's Loop down to the bridge over creek at the northwest end of the park. Highly recommend and great way to finish a ride if you park at the abandoned road

    That big drop on zeds dead looks like less of a drop now. I wonder if it washed out a bit. I used to have to hike my bike down it. I skip that same gap on pirate jet too. Maybe we could go and pressure each other sometime 😂

    • @PhillyMTB
      @PhillyMTB  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just rolled it. It's still a pretty sizeable drop (~5 or 6ft) if you actually drop it to the transition. I wanna hit that proper next time I go. The pirate jet gap unfortunately was vandalized and there's not much of a lip. Pretty much seems like a case jump now. I walked it again last time I was there.

      @@PhillyMTB That is unfortunate. Do you use Strava? I’d love to see what route you took. I’ve only ever started on the cocalico rd side and never ventured over to the ramble on side of things

      @@zachduvall982 I post my strava route on most videos but didn't in this one bc I got lost and turned around a bit and didn't want people to follow my route and make the same mistakes... Here's the route for this ride: strava.app.link/KRZ2GSel5eb

    When I went there I hit the gap on pirate jet and didn't even know how big it was till I watched this video and now I'm wondering why I hit that blind.

    • @PhillyMTB
      @PhillyMTB  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This video was made before they redid the trail. Back then the park had destroyed the jump as it was rogue (which I only found out by someone commenting on the video). Now it's built up nice and is perfect at trail speed.

    Hey I’m trying to get into doing this I was wondering if there was any trials you recommend fir beginners I live in Philadelphia

    • @PhillyMTB
      @PhillyMTB  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are plenty of beginner options at Belmont and the wissahickon in Philly proper (although you may have to walk some sections), but if you're up to travel, white clay in Newark, DE and Nockamixon near Doylestown, PA are very beginner friendly.

    How do you find your trails? Do you have a app or something?

    • @PhillyMTB
      @PhillyMTB  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Combination of ways. Primarily through word of mouth of riding friends, local FB groups, and seeing where people in my Strava network are riding. That said, Trailforks is a great app and totally worth the modest $36/year fee if you are serious about exploring new trails (and getting maps/routes that can be used offline for backcountry type riding experiences). If you're just looking to discover new places, you can use Trailforks website for free to explore trail systems by region and discover new places.

      @@pearcebrittain7758 definitely recommend Allaire State Park. Great for a beginner, although it gets pretty sandy in the summer. You should check out trailforks.com or download the app if you're looking to explore new trails.
