I'm just getting into fishing and have been trying several different drop shot knots and have had difficulty mastering them, but this knot and your video had me instanting tying several perfect drop shot setups right away as I practiced. Thanks for the awesome video describing a simple and effective way to tie an awesome drop shot.
Glad you enjoyed the video, it’s such an easy yet effective knot! If you want to stay updated on how to do more stuff like this, feel free to subscribe🤟🏽
FYI although this knot is easy it compromises line strength to a huge degree. When you are talking about 6-8lb test used in drop shotting this is a massive issue. Palomar with tag end being brought back through top is far superior.
The best vid I've seen on this. I watched a half dozen other all saying and showing the same thing, but the visuals and explanation made it click for me
Short, simple, right to the point with easy visual by use of coloured thread. Thanks for doing up this video. Have always used Palomar to tie dropshot in past, from now on, The HUMBUG!
Thank you very much for making this video, I’m fairly new to the world of drop shot, I have caught quite a few fish with this method, but I had my son tie the knots, never bothered to learn the knots as I was stubborn about trying drop shot, but this is a game changer as far as ease, thanks again, and tight lines
Super job on this video, man. I watched probably 6-7 videos on how to's for this knot, and you're explanation and especially your camera/video work is the best on YT. Period. After watching your vid and trying the knot again on my own.. Nailed it first time. Again... Thanks, and keep up the good work. Super easy knot after seeing what was going on with it and it's easier than the Poly in my opinion.
Yup...This is the knot to use. There are ton of videos showing various ways to tie on a dropshot hook, but this is by far the best way...another advantage is that this knot is extremely easy to undo and re-tie if you want to change the distance to the weight quickly.
Great video and a great knot! I have tried at least 4 variations of a drop-shot knot and this is by far the easiest and the best at keeping the hook away from the line for clean fish takes. Thank you!
I like how u laid it down on the table to allow a better visual of the line in relation to the hook. Also ur color selection for the table, hook and twine made it easy to see. Excellent tutorial!!
Just starting to try the Dropshot method … I stumbled across your video, as I didn’t know what knot to use & how to do it … this video makes so much sense. Absolutely brilliant and I will save it for when I go down the riverbank and I can give it a try. Thanks for sharing that young man and all the best and tight lines to you 👍😁🎣
Beautiful starter knot. You could tie it at home before going out , but it looks hard to tie out in the wind with 6# mono. Also... 6# mono doesn't make those nice big support knots on either side of the hook eye. This knot might not be good for walleye, but I'll try it. Thnx,
Too many people just don't get it with contrasts between the line, hook & background... You nailed it with this video. Best I've seen for this knot! Kudos. Does it slip with braid? Any idea if break tests have been done to test the breaking % of the knot vs line # test anywhere?
It's what we call in uk a grinner knot, used to tie droppers in fly fishing, droppers are when fishing more than one fly, not seen it used for drop shot,so thanks.
Excellent instructional video. I like the fact that you can make the first loop using either end & still leave a very long tag end for your weight if you want to fish it up off bottom by a few feet. I really like the Palomar knot for braid but I think this works better for mono & FC, which is what I generally use for drop-shotting. Plus it's very difficult to tie a Palomar leaving such a long tag end. Can't wait to try it out on the water!
Super easy I have a natural mental block for knot tying but I love to fish I'm going to Missouri lake of the ozarks tomorrow That'll be my knot for this trip Thanks man!✊👊
@@humbugvideos it was good fishing last year Too many damn speed boats Like being on the ocean riding those wakes all day But excellent blue cat fishing 4lb bluegills that were delicious Couple big bass but we were limited to a small piece of shoreline Got a better boat this year Should be a killer trip Thanks for the well wishes bud
Kid you are a genius. I'm 60 years old and I've watched dozens videos on knot tying, they always use mono filament line that is damn near clear, they hold the line in the air or lay it on a light surface and I'm feeling like blind squirrel looking for a nut trying to see what they're doing. But a light colored thread on a black background, out freaking standing.

Same here man! Easily one of the best videos for tying this knot

Best tutorial on youtube. I was bracing myself for a lot of fingering action and a lot of playback action. This fella nailed it.
Thanks man. This was the clearest drop shot hook video I was able to find. Didn't go to fast and explained every step in detail. Thank you!

Thanks for using the heavy string , easy to see .

Best dropshot knot for tiny hooks. Through the eye one time and the hook stands straight out like it should.

Simple, effective... thankyou!
What the heck? You mean i don't have to cuss until the water boils while trying to tie a fishing knot? One of the best videos I've seen on any topic.
Save the cussing for when you lose the fish at the net like I do🤣
Bravo........great lesson
