Regarding your used EV discussion. I would probably just get whatever car Hannah wants. If you're serious about doing content on used EVs I feel like it would be more interesting if you bought a high mile Model 3 Performance. You can get them for around $25K which is crazy value to performance ratio, and it's in a price bracket that's relatable to a wider audience, and the reality is the Model 3 will always be a top contendor for most people looking into an EV. You can discuss how's it's interior/exterior held up over time, how the battery performs, etc. and it would also be interesting to see the "anti-Tesla" person experience one long term.
That's the way. The Taycan is a lovely thing but not great for content. I bought an Approved one with a handful of miles and it's basically an almost new car, so there's really only one thing you can say about it: "it's perfectly fine"
With the massive depreciation, if you just need one for short trips to work and can charge it at home or work... They make for a very attractive proposition. I'll probably get a used EV for my wife when we give her 2014 Suzuki Swift we bought new (that's been an amazing car btw) to our daughter next year. She only drives 5-6kms at a time each day and it just makes sense for her. I won't be replacing my diesel sucking V8 LandCruiser, but I need that. Horses for courses. But buying one new? Nope.
Show idea: How about bringing in as guests, LAPD and CHP representatives to describe the current pursuit policies and how even amongst local agencies, there is a broad spectrum of policies they adhere to...
No point. They gonna say "we havr these rules" and "only chase when they endanger others" etc. And then they flip a pregnant ladies car because she didnt slam her brakes when the Pig flipped the lights on
Only in the US police chases are a thing, I honestly find them inappropriate and useless. So many resources wasted when you can catch people with cameras, plates, social media when they least expect it.
I drove my 15 mustang on snow tires through 3 central New York winters, hills were no problem in a foot of snow, but having a good limited slip differential makes a huge difference

In regards to police chases: A cop can come up behind someone who made a traffic violation, take a picture of the plates, flash their lights once and back away. Person gets a ticket in the mail. No need to pit maneuver a pregnant woman who is looking for somewhere to safely stop.

The best car commercial I can think of is the 2009 Superbowl ad Audi did for the sueprcharged A6 with Jason Statham. Not a particularly exciting car but AWESOME commercial given that the Transporter was a popular movie at the time. From 2007-2016 Audi really nailed their product placement in commercials and movies.
Cup 2s came on my Sypder when I took delivery. 7k miles on them so far. No track time. Just spirited street driving. At last service (about 6 months ago), the Porsche dealer marked them all "green," which means 5/32s or better remaining. I've been very happy the them.
Huh, from the discussion on awd vs snow tires, today I learned that there are states that still allow studded tires and snow chains. I honestly had no idea.
Unfortunately yes. Montana, Idaho, Oregon all allow them and they absolutely wreck the road. Needless to say you do not need studded tires, good snow tires and at least 1% of your brain power is more than enough.
Flagstaff resident here! Best roads are south of us! 89 between Yarnell and and Prescott is excellent and so are some of the roads in the white mountains near the Payson area. Nothing really great in Flagstaff. Some people like to do the switchbacks to Sedona but they can be crowded and not the safest place for spirited driving!

The car commercial question made me laugh. In 2008, my wife and I spent a year living in Australia. One of the ads on rotation was for the Mitsubishi Pajero. It was of a family I think taking a trip to camp in the outback. I don't know if it was a mix of sort of loving living in Australia or just the way the car sold that sense of adventure but to this day I want to buy a Pajero and ideally an old one from around 2008 or so. We live in NZ now and every time one comes up for sale, I think about it going for it. I think that's going to be my midlife crisis car!
5:42, there was one on PoliceActivity (or a channel like that) where they were doing the police chase through a shopping center parking lot, and going between a row of parked cars where there happened to be an open spot that they could drive through. I was in disbelief that they continued the chase; super unprofessional and reckless.
I was guilty of that last week! 😂 wife and I celebrated our 10yr anniversary and she’s always wanted a mustang so we went around Oahu topless. Amazing place with awesome people.
So many uninformed people thought that kid getting arrested for the helicopter stunt was too much going, "It's his car, he can do whatever he wants! Just give him a ticket!" He broke FAA rules in a national park. It's Federal level all the way up and you don't F with the FAA. I'd be surprised if the helicopter pilot didn't get his license suspended or revoked for going along with that.
I think Choi is not as bad as Mondi who believes he is the greatest driver ever, he's more deserving of being stood infront of a judge IMO. I'm surprised they didn't have permission to do that helicopter stunt, that's pretty stupid to post a crime online.
To the guy asking about wagons, check out 2018-20 Buick regal TourX. This is the third time I’m recommending them here, phenomenal cars that are way under rated, and are a really good deal right now as well as reliable
If we’re weighing in on car choice I’d say I’d be more interested in seeing a used Lucid or some new brand vs an older established brand. Can Lucid sell you a Sapphire press car for cheap?
Concerning the same shirt twice. There’s an anecdote that Harley Earl had a carbon copy of his suits pack in his office, and when-if the Michigan winds affected his perfectly ironed creases, he would have changed to the copy-suit after the lunch
Regarding the market for the SF90, look up the story about the deal NBA player Spencer Dinwiddie made on an SF90. It made him look like his last name is Dimwitted. He's suing now.
Used and fast EV would be great for content IMO. That’s the tempting buyer proposition I think for some of your viewers. Can we get in and out and how much of a headache is it for a fast non Tesla cheapish EV
New\used EV: I am actually curious about the experience of a used EV. I'm just one person and hardly a taste setter, but it would be interesting to me. What comes up. What repairs are like once warranties need to be aftermarket\extended. Parts availability. Stuff like that. This being said I'm not sure the market for used Taycans has sunk quite enough. You don't need the range for a city runabout car, but they are still probably too expensive.
I've been watching the market for an affordable EV that can tow a small car trailer - something under $30k. That basically boils it down to the Tesla Y or X. The Y is reliable and low maintenance no matter which one you get. The X is reliable after about 2018 but still has some issues. None of the Teslas have battery issues. Tesla is really the only EV company with long-term proven battery reliability.
Time for used EV's. Up until now they haven't been available because they are so recent to the market. Buying used cars is the smart buy for the general public so would be nice to see that covered on youtube.
Well this is news to me, but after Matt mentioning his tire usage with his Porsche. I just realized Dunlop is actually owned in part by Goodyear now, and Goodyear essentially took over the production of there sports tires as of 2016. This kind explains why Dunlop haven't produced anything of substance in a long time and the explosion of sports tires from Goodyear. Goodyears eagle supersport 3 tires is exactly the same as the Dunlop Sport Maxx R2 tires with different branding design. And i guess probably proprietary sizes for each brand. Kinda sad to me 😞.
For the EV decision, I personally believe it's more on brand for you to buy a used one and document your experience with that. Especially within the last few years, you have had much more of an environmentally conscientious perspective compared to your peers. I think a used EV plays into that very well. Granted, it's your money, your decision, however, with a clickbaity enough title and thumbnail, you could get some good views on it, especially if stuff does go wrong. Additionally, you've already done the new EV documentation, there's quite a few people doing that on youtube now, this is much more of a new concept, especially from someone with your experience.
If you do an autocheck on that 89 mile Taycan it looks like it had a battery failure... 9/11/2023 VEHICLE REACQUIRED Vehicle reacquired by the manufacturer pursuant to applicable state consumer warranty laws or to promote customer satisfaction. Reason provided by Manufacturer: HV battery failure
Regarding the GR Corolla, I reviewed and interviewed the owner of the GR and he ALSO had the same issue with the trans. If interested, you can jump directly to 21 mins 28 s in the video: th-cam.com/video/68wJlXPKs0Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=cinBFzB-ydRkCTmc As for the used EV vs new - personally I'd go for a slightly used Taycan Sport Turismo - I prefer the design on that way more than the new Macan EV....
Both Matt and Zack wear their watches on their right hand, does that mean they are both left handed? Does it matter which side you wear it on? Just curious never had a watch. Cheers.
Hoovie just dumped his cyber truck and bought a used Cadillac lyriq, considering how much EV’s are losing in value after only a year it makes more financial sense to buy a used one. Personally think the 296 is ugly and the SF90 is far better looking.
The sf90 design is criminally underrated, but it sounds like a bag of rocks. The 296 unquestionably sounds nicer. Rich people problems i guess 🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️
Porsche sells just as many 911s every year as BRZ & 86. That is an alarming sign about the middle class, when a +$100k sports car sells as many as a $30k sports car. TH-cam is basically about the fantasy now, nobody is really fantasizing about a 30-40k car.
Matt is such a hypocrite against Alex calling him an idiot "He has rich parents" -Matt's whole ecosystem is because of a rich father - Run the math "Broke the law on camera" -Matt breaks the speed limit on every video he posts

“alainSTFU” is the new Dog Whistle for: I’m a DUMB FUCK. 🫵🏼🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Don’t worry about replying. I don’t look !
🤣🤣🤣🤣
You’ll get crushed on resale with a used higher end EV
The B7 RS4 community is super supportive
Most of the Maverick’s I see are in fleet use. Also the dealers around here in Ohio rarely have them in stock.
Get a used ev and document all the range, value, possible problems etc with it. Would we a great watch
I dont wish jail on nobody, but I wouldnt mind Choi taking a lil' break.
I think Choi is not as bad as Mondi who believes he is the greatest driver ever, he's more deserving of being stood infront of a judge IMO. I'm surprised they didn't have permission to do that helicopter stunt, that's pretty stupid to post a crime online.
Buy used. It would be great to see how it goes!! Especially a BA wagon
To the guy asking about wagons, check out 2018-20 Buick regal TourX. This is the third time I’m recommending them here, phenomenal cars that are way under rated, and are a really good deal right now as well as reliable
Upvote for used Taycan
If we’re weighing in on car choice I’d say I’d be more interested in seeing a used Lucid or some new brand vs an older established brand. Can Lucid sell you a Sapphire press car for cheap?
We all would like to live through you. The used ev market is great, lots of depreciation. Please get a used EV.
Concerning the same shirt twice. There’s an anecdote that Harley Earl had a carbon copy of his suits pack in his office, and when-if the Michigan winds affected his perfectly ironed creases, he would have changed to the copy-suit after the lunch
Ive dealt with civil asset forfeiture in AZ. They make it hard to get anything back.
Weird...a tiny street car overheats when using it on the track 🥴 lol. It def should be able to last a little longer but it should be expected.
Regarding the market for the SF90, look up the story about the deal NBA player Spencer Dinwiddie made on an SF90. It made him look like his last name is Dimwitted. He's suing now.
Buford T Justice… “ I’m in HOT PURSUIT “ !
I vote buying used EV over new!
Used and fast EV would be great for content IMO. That’s the tempting buyer proposition I think for some of your viewers. Can we get in and out and how much of a headache is it for a fast non Tesla cheapish EV
always buy a year or 2 after release. i want a 22-23 mach-e, but the 24 green looks so sweet.
Ya you never buy the very first year of a brand new platform
118:23 my 2002 530i gets 20/gal at 90, I'm auto but manuals are even better. Low drag coefficient at .27
I am hugely in favor of the idea of buying a used cross turismo
Only 2 thousand miles of canyon driving.
9/11/2023 VEHICLE REACQUIRED
Vehicle reacquired by the manufacturer pursuant to applicable state consumer warranty laws or to promote customer satisfaction.

I'd find the used Taycan more compelling than the new Macan. Then it could be the next giveaway when you're done with it...
Regarding the GR Corolla, I reviewed and interviewed the owner of the GR and he ALSO had the same issue with the trans. If interested, you can jump directly to 21 mins 28 s in the video: th-cam.com/video/68wJlXPKs0Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=cinBFzB-ydRkCTmc
As for the used EV vs new - personally I'd go for a slightly used Taycan Sport Turismo - I prefer the design on that way more than the new Macan EV....
The trans or diff?...
Both Matt and Zack wear their watches on their right hand, does that mean they are both left handed? Does it matter which side you wear it on? Just curious never had a watch. Cheers.
Taycan, red interior with a frozen berry metallic wrap. Yiiiiip!
Shoutout to Dropout
Slow car that sounds amazing: W8 Passat
Hoovie just dumped his cyber truck and bought a used Cadillac lyriq, considering how much EV’s are losing in value after only a year it makes more financial sense to buy a used one.
Personally think the 296 is ugly and the SF90 is far better looking.
Agreed (especially the heritage lovery) however the price difference is HUGE.
The sf90 design is criminally underrated, but it sounds like a bag of rocks. The 296 unquestionably sounds nicer. Rich people problems i guess 🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️
Imo 296 looks and sounds leagues better. Prettiest Ferrari since pininfarina left
Luckily Steve is now out of the hospital and on the mend.
What about manual supra vs m5 CS?
Porsche sells just as many 911s every year as BRZ & 86. That is an alarming sign about the middle class, when a +$100k sports car sells as many as a $30k sports car. TH-cam is basically about the fantasy now, nobody is really fantasizing about a 30-40k car.
Definitely go with the crossturismo
Harris raves about the SMG in his E60 M5 wagon.
Get Zack the used Taycan.
Matt is such a hypocrite against Alex calling him an idiot
"He has rich parents"
-Matt's whole ecosystem is because of a rich father - Run the math
"Broke the law on camera"
-Matt breaks the speed limit on every video he posts
Ok, Alex.
@@thedarkenergist lol -Im not him just watch this show -
@@MicroReese-po2lrsure, but there something to be said for going over the speed limit a bit which isn’t plastered on the thumbnail, and having a HELICOPTER shooting FIREWORKS with no permits or permission on government land on your thumbnail…one is clearly asking to get some trouble. The FAA is strict, I wouldn’t want to mess with them without permission and it’s probably what got them in so much trouble
@@tjseidI completely agree but you can't go on a public platform and call some one out for something when you break the law daily on your site where you generate revenue
Matt routinely calls out compliance issues with manufacturers and public safety yet almost daily breaks the law endangering public safety with 1 million followers and the argument is always its early in less populated areas.
I'm a of this channel and listen. The last interview with Jim Farley was maybe the best since Gordon Murray but there needs to be a check on this stuff for new listeners
@@MicroReese-po2lrSo don’t follow/listen to a car enthusiast specifically known for doing road tests of fast cars… like wtf do you expect? Matt to be the shining example for driving as safely as possible?
Are you the type of guy to slam on the brakes as soon as you notice your going 1 mph above the speed limit? Because you sure sound like it…
Who bought/gave you that tshirt Zack?
100% do used taycan.. way more interesting. Seems like there would be more content to be done plus more fun car.. and better looking. Maybe get one with like 40-50k. Thats actually consumer advice for more people
my parents could have been severely hurt in a police chase here in NJ when a shop lifter at walmart was chased and he t-bone my dads jeep. really chasing a walmart shoplifter? smh.
People of Walmart being chased by Cops of Walmart. Eek. Very glad your parents were OK!
On the Donnie comment. Was this something new, or an old thing?
Either way - anyone know if it was talked about before/ recently? I wasn’t sure what they were referencing
Donnie got arrested he talked about it on the pod maybe a month ago or a little more.
I would think a used EV could be interesting, but up the minimum mileage to 50-70k. Those are probably the ones people are most afraid of.
Or get a $25k Model 3/Y lmao
I would be very into the used EV. With Teslas having 100k miles on them I think you would be good. Would be very interested in it
The Turismo would be great. Not sure if there are a bunch of long term experiments.
6 minutes in so far and it’s a little to lefty for my liking. Great podcast though 😎
Didn't Jeremy Clarkson do exactly what Choi did to a Corvette for one of his specials called "Apocalypse Clarkson"?? Xx
I'm sure that he or whatever show it was for got the necessary permissions.
Safe to assume the BBC covers their bases better than the average youtuber
Do a used Tesla Model 3! I can already image all the viwer you would get.
Good pre-dct autos ISF, LFA, F430 F1, DB9, 350/370Z auto
Used aspirational EV and show how it is to own
For the comment about hypermiling the corvette, Alex from @LegitStreetCars did a video about this as well! Came to top of mind
you guys have been lite on comedian guests. Time to get Andrew Santino on the pod.
Of course Matt is pro criminal lol. God forbid someone runs from the police & something bad happens 🤣🤣🤣
You okay W2 Lifer ? That’s really funny. 🫵🏼🤣🤣🤣. When your alarm goes off every morning for the rest of your life, remember me. Facts, not opinions. Don’t worry about replying, I don’t look 🫵🏼🤣🤣🤣
Yeah he acts as if the moron running from the police has zero culpability in a chase situation. lol nope, it's all the cops wrongdoing.
TIL Zack also loves G-Shocks...
New ev tax creds would work for the macan vs used taycan
I'm all for chases. If you have a no chase policy, the criminals know they can get away very easily. Too many people like Matt seem to side with the criminals. Bizarre.
J Ryan next week?
used and what happens there after 3 years or so.
TST has become a legacy brand, steady and reliable, but the thrill is gone. GR Corolla videos are really played out at this point, enthusiasm for it has gone stale. That said, I did watch the whole video mostly to hear your take on the BRZ
