Greg Kelsey I don’t use a jackstand, myself any more. I take a 30” * 10” piece of wood, put it under the axle and drop it down on the log. I use chucks under the wheels to keep any movement from happening, just in case. I borrowed one back in the eighties and was splitting wood on the axle of my non-positraction Corvette rear axle. As long as you can get in bolted on, you have one of the most effective splitters out there. I use mine to split the big stuff, and one of those little electric splitters to use for breaking down do kindling. Adding a precaution, you must make sure to have enough room to let the screw start into the log about 3/4 of the way. If it goes into the middle length wise, and it is too short, it will grab the log, and start spinning the log like a lethal weapon. That does happen once in awhile, and since I’m not near the log, I just get into my truck and take it out of gear. If it screws into the log, and the log doesn’t split, you just put your vehicle in reverse, and let it walk right beck out, the start over. I have split 200-250+ round tree trunks after cutting into workable lengths,, and it goes through them like butter.
I want to install 4 of these on my vehicle with the wheels left on and go drive around my city like Mad Max.
ben hur
Yeah, just be sure you don't impale a hand on that thing, I get the feeling it doesn't like to let go until it's finished.
You should splash a little water on the tip every time. It keeps it from over heating and also adds a little lubrication.
It's looking right at that guys shirt. Say goodnight.
Wouldn't wear gloves, cuz if you getcher point in that glove your going to be twisted.
Pretty cool demo,pretty neat device.Thank you !
I fell asleep before the first split was made. not exactly good for production.
Where can I buy one of these to fit my 3/4 ton GMC 8 lug ? I need one for my camp
Where did you purchase it I want one? Cant seem to find it online
You were putting your hands awfully close to the screw for no apparent reason.
Nice!
Is that a ford ranger ?
Where did you buy the unicorn?
You should check out my stickler less back breaking and much faster

I don't think you understand how Jack's work lol
Worker smarter not harder I guess haha
Very slow, your going to be there all day
or he could put it in 4th gear
+John DiMartino or start drinking beer
John DiMartino I couldn’t even begin to have the patience to operate mine at that speed. Best splitter for sure, but put it in a higher gear!
Some guy on another video he would rev it at 1500rpm and was splitting it pretty fast
Goes much faster on a 540 rpm PTO shaft.
Haha yep that's all a poor Fords good for. Surprised it can even manage that.
Iam sure you dodge transmission will give out before you can split a cord of wood with it
Yeah dodge guys like to brag about how awesome someone elses engine is in their truck...
@@thehoovah ... hahaha
Let me jack my truck up on one wheel and take the tire off and put this contraption on and burn all my gas up splitting wood......da fuq
