Thank you SO much for this easy to follow video. I didn’t have extra money to call someone or buy a new washer so close to Christmas, so I followed this video and it worked! SO happy to be back in business.
I have this exact washer. The rinse cycles are out to lunch.. I also can’t get it to go into manual test on my dial…. How do you do it? I’m very mechanically inclined and plan on ripping it apart
HI there, have exact problems in whirpool machine, cold/hot water valve is working good....next step ? any idea?door lock is working also..thanks for share..
We have a new Whirlpool WTW4816FW3 model and it’s the worst washer we’ve ever had. It takes FOREVER to rinse, and now it won’t go into the rinse cycle. And it leaves soap stains on your black clothes after TWO RINSES!!! This model has too many “technological” features and I just want something basic and reliable now.
Just bought a brand new one just like this and installed today. It won’t go past the washing cycle. I have to manually switch to each cycle to wash. To see that this is a major flaw in this model and Im having this issue same day it was delivered, I’ll be pushing for a store return and buy a different brand.
Thanks for the video. Would this be similar to the washer staying on Sensing for very long, filling with water slowly, and then never going into wash mode. It then starts draining while only in locked mode(only red lock light on). It then finishes, unlocks, ends everything with the wash light on. The clothes is somewhat wet and I washed.
So I have no cold water, only hot. I replaced the part you did in this video but i still have no cold water, only hot. Is it the switch assembly where I switch the hot/hot, hot/cold, etc.?
hey any idea what to do about this??- the one I'm working on keeps endlessly running water, gets about 4" of water during rinse and the water is constantly running while draining, staying at a little under 4 inches, if I cancel it and restart it only then it will drain/spin (same exact washer)
Mine does the same thing. Same Whirlpool. Changed the control card, checked the water valves and solenoids (both work OK, not plugged or burned), calibrates OK, diagnostics pass except the cold water test. Could it be that the wash temp switch, the lid lock and/or the thermistor is at fault?
@@christov4120 I ended up scrapping it and bought a new GE. I still wonder why it did this on the first place, but it is all in the past now. Thanks for asking.
Great video! My daughter has the same issue, after the wash and spin it stops. We have to manually put in on rinse and spin and it does those cycles. Could it still be the valve?
Tribles is the place for your parts commercial or residential. There’s most always a revision so the numbers may be a bit different dont worry. There’s nothing to appliances.
Look in the use and care manual. Some washers do not fill in the rinse cycle. Make sure you have extra rinse selected on some models for a traditional rinse. Your use and care guide should have this info in it to make sure you have it on the right settings.
Just had a whirlpool washer delivered to my apt unit as a replacement.I can tell you from very frustrating experiences what a truly useless piece of shit that washer is.I'm starting to go back to the laundry mat to save me the headache of dealing with such a useless appliance until I can get a quality washer, such as a speed queen.Only ever had issues with the smart washers never the old school versions.I think it's a sensor issue.
I do need to. I'll have to remember doing one the next time i see one of these. If I have the time and the customer will allow it I will get it out there for you'll.
@@BeardedApplianceRepair hi my whirlpool washer is stuck on wash an iv done everything on all the videos an it won't work it just fills with alittle water an washes alittle an then kicks back off an still stuck on wash water won't drain out or spin
Recalls are only put out if there are any potential injuries from the problems. I remember getting an airbag recall a dozen years ago from a car we purchased(potential injury). Same with appliances.
Exactly 💯 everyone having issues should get their money back or a technician should come repair all the brand new machines in our houses. Install, uninstall, take back to store, reinstall only to have more issues is a joke and not funny at all.
Is the water cold or hot when you run it? If it is hot water than your cold water is not working. These washers are too smart for their own good. Even when set to cold it will put hot water in it to satisfy the temp sensor. Not sure of the exact temp it want but say it wants 60 degree water coming it. If the cold is 50 degrees it will put it hot water to warm it up. So these washers now-a-days run both during the fill. For rinses it’s different. All rinses are cold water only. If it fills on rinse than I would say your cold water is not the issue.
@@BeardedApplianceRepair no it was cold. I eventually calibrated it and it seems to work fine. I noticed this problem after i washed some heavy blankets. Machine would not advance to rinse and the load really wet. I had to select drain and spin it out
Sounds like an out of balance thing then. That happens pretty easily with large materials like blankets. When that happens just empty it and try to rebalance the big blanket. Calibrating was a good idea as well. That’s supposed to help with keeping it balance as well.
Depends where they are. This one was in a laundry room on the carport. It gets humid in the summer and critters are running around I am sure. Touching it with dirty hand will get it dirty as well.
So most likely your clothes is already in the washing machine, would you have to do for this to work is hold down the power button for 10 seconds, allowing the machine to drain and then go into neutral mode so that you can do this process I was so frustrated, you’re welcome
The only way to find out is go into diagnostic mode and testing items, you would need a service manual though. My initial guess would be a faulty shift actuator - once a washer finishes "sensing", it will move the shift actuator to the "agitator" position. If it cannot do that, your machine won't agitate.
i have had a tech come twice, and mine is still acting crazy only way i can wash is to stay in my basement and when it starts making a certain buzz noise i turn water valves off and back on again..tech is coming back this week. 🤷♀️
Can you describe in detail ? Won't agitate ? What happens when you start the cycle, does it go into sensing, water, sensing ? and then stop ? At least in whirlpool and possibly other models, the sense mode uses the drum, once sensing is complete, it then "shifts" to agitation - it sounds to me like a shift actuator problem, that it is unable to switch to agitator mode. You would be able to know by going into diagnostic mode, manual mode and testing both agitation and spin modes, this will trigger the actuator shift motor, and you'll be able to know.
Mine senses and fills with water, then does not agitate. Then when it reaches rinse cycle (after it drained from wash cycle) it stops and does not fill back up for rinse cycle. The rinse light then flashes and lid unlocks. What could it be? Washer is only a year old
I have this washer just bought used from a garage sale and I'm not sure but seems like it doesn't wash well it doesn't turn strong and clothes don't get fully submerge in water.. can you please help me out I'm currently pregnant and have a 9 month old and 2 yr old really need this washer to work 🙏

Do these washers have a belt to spin the drum or does the drum spin with the agitator? I have very wet clothes after the wash cycle has complete.
This style washer is belt driven.
Great video, it showed me exactly what to do step by step
You’re brave for working on it with it still plugged into the wall
Quick question! Do you have to put it in diagnostics to do the repair?

I have the same washer, would a tub bearing in the bottom cause it to not engage and not go into wash mode, HELP!!!!

The washer needs some washing.
Also-you should leave the lid open all the time after using the machine so it will not rust. Let it dry out.

I need that exact valve is there anyway you can send me that part number for that valve for the same washer
