Billy's 1985 Tama Superstars with a custom paint job look and sound amazing, he recently received them from back from the previous owner and is using them on this Crosswinds Tour.
Yes Robert from the 1985 " WARNING " Album and Tour. Saw the show with this kit in 1985 at The Bottom Line NYC ! - ' The Legendary Taurian Matador Steel Blue Wrap Around Rig '
saw him two weeks ago in philly .. the way Billy explained it was the “Warning” kit walked away from a reputable storage facility in 1986. he was able to track down the shells on eBay and somehow get them back and they are on the Crosswinds tour. beautiful shells when u see them up close
Nobody plays tighter than Jazz Fusion bands!!! Been a fan of Billy Cobham and all jazz fusion since Christmas 1973 when I received the "Spectrum" album! I can't even begin to imagine how many times I've played that album, and his others, over the years. "Spectrum opened my eyes and ears to so many fine, excellent musicians over the years. I especially like the work he's done lately collaborating with the Nicolosi Productions /Novecento " "Drum and Voice" albums 1, 2, 3, and 4.
78 and still performing! Met him in '73 or '74 when he played Southampton College of LIU and I was working for the campus radio station. Awesome muscular arms, limitless stamina, a Jazz innovator like no other. Still have his first several albums on vinyl, treasured heirlooms now.
I 1st saw Bill C when I was about 6 yrs old on the Atlantic City Boardwalk back in the late 60's with my dad. He was playing in a band called DREAMS with the Breaker Bros. Followed the guy all thru my school days. He is still playing and making great music.
Billy, amazing drummer¡ I have the opportunity to attend one of his clinics around 1994, one of the most inspiring, memorable and best days about music, Thank so much!! Billy for that opportunity, I keep one drum head autograph from you in my drumkit
Thank you for posting AND including the Pleasant Pheasant ! First B.C. tune I ever heard when I was a kid and it hooked me for life - Mark W. is Killing and the Band is Smokin' - Long Live The King 👑🥁🐂
Thanks for posting. Great clip. I started listening to BC in the early eighties. How many drummers has this man influenced? Thousands I'm sure. I'm certainly one of them. Such a monster player.
Ive been diggin' Billy too since the 70s and over the years I found that every drummer I've heard from beginner to pro, .. EVERY drummer will play SOMETHING in some way that I've heard him do or will remind me of some thing he's done. That ALONE is undeniable and proves the power of his influence in music. ALL music. Mah MAN! L.
Better views of band not like last sight I seen didn't know this was Billy's old drum set refurbished great band billy plays like he did in his youth incredible
Great playing, love BC's feel and groove. He just seems to keep getting better and better. I wonder if the contrasting hairstyles are deliberate - between them they end up with an average of 2 short back and sides!
$7 Saar riesling spatlese 1983 (Wiltinger Rosenberg next to Sharzhofberger) was the 2nd greatest ever out of many many great wines. The search is the money! It's education. Thank you for your enthusiasm and honesty, Dr. Horkey. Nice!
The camera should predominantly focus on Bill Cobham(99%). . He is the star and most of us want to see his playing, and we don't gain anything from watching the other musicians pressing on frets or keys and making faces.
@@borgullet3376 Don't take it personally. I grew up listening to Cobham and Spectrum is great with Jan Hammer, but the synth sounds are shitty on this. Jan Hammer used better sounds in the 70's. It's now 2022. There is no reason to use bad synth brass and pad sounds. Hope that explains my comment a little better.

How am I only just learning about Billy Cobham? Legend. I am so glad to have enjoyed this.
I saw Billy Cobham performing a drum clinic back in the early 1980’s. He is a nice down to earth man, and of course a phenomenal musician 🥁
It was an awesome show! Fantastic venue and phenomenal musicians all around.

Mark Whitfield on guitar, Scott Tibbs on keyboards, and Tim Landers who's been playing with Billy since 1981 on bass.
