I can't emphasize enough how much I enjoy your content! I left Ireland about 12 years before this race, and I missed all the pre/post race. Great channel and thank you!!!
What Great coverage of a brilliant race .Frankie learned the lesson after looking the winner at one stage .In that years Derby I was genuinely shocked when Golan the 2000 gns winner (and the following years KG5 winner ) was beaten so easily by Galileo; but this was a real champion . .
Was actually there in leopardstown that day with two very good friends of mine two furlong battle tremendous race dettori at his best even tough mick kinane was my favorite jockey incredible race one of the best of all time was a summers day never forget it lol😊
I always thought Fantastic Light was top class indeed at 1m 2f and really good at 1m 4f , simply outstayed by an above average Derby winner . Turned out to be a worthy successor to Northern Dancer and Sadlers Wells as the scion of a raft of future stallions too - great horse , just wished he’d have stayed in training as a 4yo to prove he was an all time great rather than just a brilliant 3yo 🤷♂️ 👍🏴
@@HorseRacingLegends I’m more engaged with Fantastic Light than Galileo if I’m honest , the Irish champion that Fantastic Light battled like a Lion to bring Galileo’s unbeaten run to an end was both pulsating and epic , that’s why I slightly favour him , Galileo’s defeat at the Breeders cup was “ The Lads “ and O’Brien going to the well 1 too many times , O’Briens words . 👍🏴
Yes Fantastic Light was the same top class with Falbrav at 10f in the early 2000. I was in HK watching both of them won the cup. They are both like a wine better with age.
@@HorseRacingLegends It's a pity we couldnt see the Galileo clash with Sakhee in the Arc in 2001. I still remember I was almost sure Galileo cant handle the dirt from his beautiful front legs movement. he is definitely not a grinder that what a US dirt top class horse needs. COT will do better but got a similar action. On the other hands, you could see how underrated Sakhee he almost won the best of the turf and dirt (Tiznow was one of the all-time greats in US) in two different countries in just 3 weeks time!
@@HorseRacingLegends sweeeeet , looking forward to that . Can I suggest for the future a look at the beloved and talented Further Flight ? Any time I make a suggestion if it’s not possible or too much bother I’m fine either way getting told to bugger off 😆 I’m always aware your the one doing us a favour not the other way around ✊ 👍🏴
@@HorseRacingLegends cool 👌 cheers for that ✊ and I was kinda sure they overlapped in their careers , though I very much doubt that unbelievable stayed and grumpy old fkr 😃 Persian Punch could’ve won an Ebor , loved that old grey warrior 👍🏴
Thanks a million for uploading this. I backed Galileo that day and was away so only saw the race. Great to watch the build up and post race coverage.
