Jockey thought that Forgive n Forget was the danger and used too much energy beating this rival .If only Bradley had known that the danger who looked beaten was on the inside
Dawn run didn't produce more speed on run in, wayward lad had her beat 2 out, as always he emptied, and she ran on, he ran many times at Cheltenham, and never won there
I loved Ten Plus, but had forgotten how bad a jumper he was, the thing that led to his untimely demise a few years later. Thank you for posting these up, I could watch them all day long.
Wayward lad was a good flat jumper no waste of effort, they had him spot for that day. A year later the snow delay softened the ground too much for him, not sure if he would have won but maybe placed.
What a great horse Dawn Run was, it broke Paddy Mullins's heart when she was killed in a hurdle race in France. Paddy didn't want to run her in a hurdle race because he thought the horses get confused if you run them over hurdles after running over fences, but her owner Charmian Hill insisted on running. Paddy couldn't bring himself to ever put another horse in her box and it remained empty.
Henderson had 2 in this , I backed First Bout when it won the previous years Triumph hurdle .. sigh .. so of course I backed the wrong one 🙄 Great seeing Gaye Brief again though 👌 👍🏴
I remember watching this when I was a teenager and I thought it was great, but it seems far more muted compared to these days. There wasn't even a "Cheltenham roar" at the start of the Supreme.
Even the brave Dawn Run knew she'd won something big. I thought Wayward Lad was a little unlucky. Dawn Run would of carried about 7 pound less being a mare.
Great days stayed at the fleece Gloucester rammers Tuesday breathing space queen mother day bombed gold cup day 4 grade one s on the bounce Tuesday What a feast Not the burger show now

the words that will always haunt fans of Wayward Lad, "The mares beginning to get up"!

Jockey thought that Forgive n Forget was the danger and used too much energy beating this rival .If only Bradley had known that the danger who looked beaten was on the inside
Big gamble on Wayward Lad for 250 grand.

The days when racing coverage was all about the horses.
All about the presenters now.
Aye see you in the afterlife when they are putting place pots on us.....hahaha🥵
If they showed a video of current Cheltenham Festivals, you would see more of Matt Chapman talking about himself than the actual races.
lol.

Yes I agree.
Thanks. Great to see the badsworth boy

3 times winner of Champion Chase.
Oregon Trail, one of the few winners I've had at Cheltenham.

Yes I’m sure he hurt himself the year he won.
Can’t remember who I backed in the Supreme but what an easy winner in River Ceiriog 40/1 line buster 😅
👍🏴
Trained by The Great Nicky Henderson.Total Legend of a Trainer.
@ he’s my Henry Cecil of the jumps 😄

Don’t forget Cheltenham is the be all and end all.Not so much back then.Social media winds people up now.
That's true. The hype these days is OTT, driven largely by bookmakers.
It’s just all hype these days ,no substance .
Proper fences..decent fields..no nonsense starts..no dumbed down presentation..those were the days..😊
Yes agreed.
And not a Clare Balding in sight!😊
lol.

I could not believe wayward lad did not win that race great horse so unlucky not to have won more big races just always ran consistent
He looked all over the winner coming up the hill.
