Light Cavalry needed a pacemaker to sit in behind of. Like Dick Hurn did with Bustino. Makes me wonder sometimes, why so called professional connections, do such seemingly baffling things?
@@HorseRacingLegends Henry, at the time, had loads of horses that could have run a tag team for Light Cavalry to sit behind of to get a slipstream. Seems odd to me, cycling teams do it all the time. People who don't cycle race, don't realise how much sitting in behind, helps the main player. Look at Mark Cavendish in cycling.

@@HorseRacingLegends Glad that you appreciate my point, through your own personal experiences. If you watch the fantastic program made about the " Race Of The Century " (which i am sure you will have done already), Joe Mercer is adamant that had the very decent mile and a quarter horse they had lined up, not gone lame before the race, then Bustino would have beat Grundy. Thrilling to watch the brilliant Shergar, with very good commentary ; yet am haunted by his terrible demise in the hands of such brutal cowards. 🥀
