- After a few weeks away from a race track, I headed to Snetterton for Round 5 of the British National Superstock Championship with OMG Racing.
Lots of highs from my part of the garage and I am really getting comfortable with the R1 now.
Also, I have until the end of July to decide whether I do the @OfficialDakar Rally in 2024! I am undecided, part of me wants to go and the other part is saying don't! I go into more detail in the video.
I was also in a video with @FortyFourTeeth recently about their R1 build, check that out • R1 NEXT MODS? | ROAD B...
Sorry for the delay in posting, I will make up for it! Don't forget to like and subscribe and also any suggestions for content, within reason, comment below.

Great to see you on the 44 Teeth videos, they need your talent there 😅
Dakar should be awesome if you enjoy it.
Looking forward to seeing you at Brands, I'm coming with my daughter
Very keen to see some of the day to day happenings with Crescent Yamaha! I know Guintoli really made a name for himself on youtube with the rider coaching/ tip/ set up vids - maybe something of that nature or recording some of your approaches/ philosophys in going fast might help some of us lesser riders out and garner lots of views.
Hey livin' the dream baby! It took me 50 years to figure out that superbikes are my favorite things on the planet but that means A group track days will probably be as good as it gets for me. Thank the lord for that at least! Keep up the good work 👏 🙌 👍.
You stop in all the best places !
Well done at the BSB, be great to learn the huge differences between road and track style.
And I’m sure I speak for the majority we would love to see you back at Dakar!
Great video..good to see you enjoying racing and seeing the team.reaction too..
Enjoyed the 44 teeth vid and always watch your volgs good luck if you choose to do Dakar. going to brands see you there.
It was great seeing your crew celebrating in the garage !
Thanks for sharing your riding life and all I appreciate you ❤
We love you Jimbo! Greetings from Serbia. 🇷🇸
Great content James 👍 and your insights in the 44 teeth vid v interesting for us R1 riders (wallet might take a hit!) 👍👍
Good on you James, glad life is good at the moment. Well done on the Superstock result👍🏻👍🏻
I certainly understand the post-TT blues, even as a spectator - after two exhiliaritng weeks living the experience, returning to work - even though I have an interesting job working with SEN teenagers - was harder after that time than after any other trips I have made. Do the Dakar again ? - you can see it in your eyes when you talk about it. I rememeber asking you about it at the TT too when the chilli sauce sampling was happening and your short but telling response suggests it was soul food for you!
Yes I think you should do the Dakar, now you know how too.
Can you do videos around the design of leathers, helmet or how you end up in the brand of gear etc 😊
I would love you to do the Dakar again.
The answer is yes and I'll sponsor you like i did last year with mason klein's gofundme . Looking forward to seing you at Dakar again .
Legend

Yes definitely
Great video.see you at brands for a selfie😂
Dakar, yes pls!!!!!!
yes, do it!
James, excellent you're thinking of going back to Dakar. A good video would be your considerations on the financial side of that decision and what your options are, fundraising, team decisions, Malle Moto etc.
Hi James, regarding doing Dakar again. My thinking is you should always follow your instincts. If it feels right do it,if not leave it be.
Great update James. I hope you do the Dakar as it was fantastic to watch but I understand it is a very big decision.
Could I ask you to explain why the transition from roads back to circuit takes a little time? I know it is 2 very different types of racing but I would be interested to listen to your explanation.
6:57 😂😂😂😂
You have to do Dakar again😂
Do you feel it affected your road racing then? Fans want to see you getting those well deserved TT podiums fella. 🏆
I haven’t got out and am not getting out 🤣
You should do Daker because your 1 race in so will be more enjoyable! Plus i really enjoyed it 😁😁😁
do the Dakar again. I have 100 quid here for your budget.
Yes, on your CT125 😂
Defintely would love to see you do Dakar 😊
Hi James, have you thought about doing the Baja Rally in Oct 2024? Looks like a great event.
Yes I have looked at that. Definitely something to try one day
Any more TT behind the scenes type videos?
Yes I will be doing some at the classic Manx GP next month. Anything particular you would like?
@@jameshillierracing some run downs on the bikes you will ride and if it’s easier/harder with the older bikes compared to the current ones would be cool
Yes. Do Dakar again.
Go On James you got to do the Dakar again
#Dakarrally24
Easy for me to say as a spectator, but would love to see you do Dakar again James. You must have learned so much this year that would stand you in good stead for another bash at it.
Going great on the roads and shorts.
Keep it pinned.
There's a very good reason why you should do the Dakar again. Competing in any major event is a steep learning curve, whether it be the Dakar, ISDE, SSDT or even something as less onerous as the Manx Two Day Trial, for an example. It's only having completed the event for the first time does one understand what is required. Should you decide to ride the Dakar again, every step will be one that you have taken previously. Do you decide to enter?, if yes, then the subsequent steps are ones that you already know and have been through, so the journey is less testing and you should arrive at the start line, more knowledgeable and less stressed.. Of course the finance required is considerable, but should you do the Dakar, the event will know of you, will have seen the videos and will welcome you with even greater enthusiasm. The decision can be yours and yours alone. There is every reason NOT to do it as there is for so many actions in life, equally, there are even more reasons to go again. I believe you to be a "DOER" and your followers, of whom there are very many, will wish you well, whatever your decision. And congratulations on your TT, a delight to watch you perform.
🤦 *Promosm*
If you don't do Dakar again I am afraid that you will regret it in later life, if you do I know you will give it your all, we have your back no matter which decision you take all the best pal.
No mate, you need to either put ALL your focus on TT, BSB or other things. Dakar is a HUGE undertaking. Mentally & physically. It is a distraction. Your TT went well, but not anything to brag about. A podium would have been BRILLIANT, but perhaps your body & mind wasn't totally in sync. Think how TdF or grand tour GC riders prepare.
Thats hardly fair to say considering James did his fastest lap ever this TT and the fastest Yamaha lap - so there is plenty to brag about, he is still laping in the top ten close to the pointy end so I don't know what your on about, all that on a bike that is in its second year of development, and lets face it, has had very little development on the roads vs the Honda or BMW making it less competitive overall.
Bit harsh that. You do know he had a 4th and a 5th at the TT.
Those who are encouraging you to do Dakar again have ZERO idea of preparation for the TT. NO idea. These are arm chair wanna-bes James. Listen, if you really want to do Dakar, by all means go all in. But just know, that your TT commitment will not be 100%. It's a big decision.
