    Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit th-cam.com/users/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.

    I am happy to say I used the 1/8 oz. hover rig with a fluke today and caught a 4.16# largemouth bass on Belews Creek Lake in NC. This is my PB for this lake so far as I just started fishing here this year. Water temp was 93F and fish was in 25 ft depth. Could not get a bite on anything else.

    I was catching the smallmouth with the hover rig on a 6th sense glitch (finesse worm). Fished it like I was stroking a jig or cracking a tube.

    You mentioned that it comes in three sizes... 3/16, 3/8, and 3/4. I believe those are actually the sizes for their TUSH swimbait hook. On the Core Tackle website they list the following five sizes for the Hover Rig: 3/64th, 1/32nd, 3/32nd, 1/16th, and 1/8th.

    Great video! Excited how this method has finally reached America ! If you are a fan of the company Fish Arrow JP they have been utilizing this technique for around 15 years ! I actually did a video about three years ago about it on my channel. And at that time I didn’t know they were calling hover strolling ! I also talk about how a 1/4 oz scrounger head from Picasso lures can get you even more action and great hover/fall rate !!’

    The hover rig is not new, I’ve been using it since 2017. the matt core tackle hover jig head is just recently out about almost a year now and it’s a pretty kool and easy concept for noobie and novice angler to work with, but I still the traditional way of rigging the hover rig through, because the traditional/original method can allow you to change the weight size on the fly unlike core tackle hover rig jig the weight size is fixed

    I recently bought some of the Tush heads, not impressed. They are ok with a near vertical approach, but cause the swimbait to roll on it’s side with a retrieve. I’ve tried multiple swimbaits, same result. The Hover, IMO, is much more effective.

    plz don't forget to give credit to the Japanese who have been using hovershot/rig hooks for a long time the only difference is the with the Japanese is you have to use a nail weight in the head and theirs is built on the hook which saves a step and another piece of tackle to buy. The technique is NOT new, just new to USA.

    • @richardbossman9875
      @richardbossman9875 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, the flying lure was essentially a squashed tube that was weighted to swim away from you when free lined. It did that but with just a gliding straight decent. From my experience with them they shimmy when pulled forward but really had no erratic darting action at any time.

    What are the “secrets” in this video or is this title just more Randy bait? A dude in the same room day after day pitching tackle is not a secret. Making promises, doing lots of talking, yet offering nothing to fulfill the promise = politician and/or advertisement.
    Is the secret that you can wrap a jig hook with lead wire (tin wire in MA to be legal < 1 oz), use a nail weight or any combination of the two to get the exact balance you want? Is the secret that you can tie balanced flies on jig hooks by extending the hook with a tied-on sewing pin while using tungsten bead(s) or clamped split shot on the pin to get the same hover on a fly or hair jig? Is the secret that you use a loop knot to attach the hook for maximum action? Is the secret that you can extend your jig hook with a tied-on pin and add a fly lip to the pin to add action? Maybe you attach the fly lip upside down? Maybe use a flat sculpin head weight for better hover? Maybe using a hover rig with an action disk above the hook connection knot is a secret? Maybe you can tie on pin extensions to your wire-wrapped jig hook and leave the pin bare, so that it works better puncturing Elaztech, and clamp on a split shot (or not) to the pin tip after rigging. Maybe you found that tin shot stay shiny (don’t oxidize quickly) and attract fish better than lead when used on the extension pin? Maybe you found that using a plain jig hook is best on Elaztech and that to weight it you can puncture an Elaztech shad through the side with a pin/hook followed by inserting a tungsten/lead dumbbell eye weight through the hole. The Elaztech holds the dumbbell great (esp. with superglue), perfectly balanced on each side, and you can place it wherever works best to balance the bait you’re using. You can do this on the water and it offers maximum flexibility. Whatever the secrets are, please clue us in to at least one as promised.
