    These are exelent cars , we had a few in Australia rh drive. Wife bought one that was supposed to be fully restored. Car was a mess , just rebuilding it properly now. Rebuilt the 327 with Edelbrock heads and Lunati cam. For a big car it handles and stops great with disc brakes. The 327 screams , the ride is beautiful. Fantastic cars .

      @Mad__Jax it's coming up nice , made the windscreen channel, pillars and plenum. Looks factory and windscreen fits perfectly. Just starting with the hinge pillars and lower cowl. Lots of rust and work but well worth it. They're very nice cars ,I've always had Mopars but who doesn't like a 67 impala.

      Ronald Parker, I find the '67 and '68 model years quite fascinating, as a matter of fact, SO MUCH SO I want to star a primer dusty light gray '68 Chevy Impala hardtop custom as a suspect vehicle in my future faith-based, mystery-thriller novel, Mineral County.

    Good day Mr Good plies it's good to see you floating along again I enjoy a good float now and then myself LOL I wanted to tell you thank you for helping Dalton and his little son jdn his friend I don't know his name the big man? With the burned up GTO you helped him so much I appreciate what you did for them because he is my favorite channel on TH-cam right now I used to like putting Fab shop but now I'm leaning more towards pole bar and garage is my favorite right now I like the type of cars he goes after and does just everyday s*** boxes LOL that's a type of video I enjoy. That's me that's my opinion but I always enjoy watching your videos when you guys go and pick up a vehicle's all over Oklahoma and wherever you go I had mood recently from Oregon to Oklahoma about 3 years ago now so I'm kind of getting used to it still boring as hell I wish I had some friends cuz I'm really into the car community and I don't have any friends yet out here still so that kind of sucks but you know what can you do I'll just watch you guys have fun.

    I’ve been looking for this exact model of car, been infatuated with it since I first saw Supernatural as a teenager. I want to get one as a project to work on with my grandpa. Restoring old cars like that is his favorite hobby. He still has his 64 bonneville he fully restored that he takes to the Woodward cruise every year. I’d love to have something like that to drive with him, something that we fixed up together. Something I can hold on to memories when he passes.

      I just listed it in Hemmings for $7500. I have titled it, installed a running 350 TBI engine, and gathered most of the parts for it, except for miscellaneous trim, some of which is available from reproduction parts catalogs. I do have a good replacement quarter from a parts car that I can include with it. The car needs complete restoration of the body, interior, mechanical, and brakes. I can be reached at mrgoodpliers1985@gmail.com

    I've been a 67 Impala hardtop fan since long before they became a wanted thing. That beast has reasonable bones to work with (passenger's rear quarter notwithstanding) but of the ones you showed us, she was definitely the best candidate, with a few others at that yard that would be good donors. I have never seen so many acres devoted to old steel before! We have only one yard similar to this in the entire country and its about 250 miles (about 5 hours) away....and anything there has at least an arm or a leg (or both) in its price tag. Great yard to look around (and they charge for that too) but it's more of a museum of rusted artwork than a serious breaker's yard because of the cost. Sad,,,, That last Impala that 'didn't quite make it' - I don't think an ironing board would be much flatter than that, although that one stubborn tail light should be given a medal!

    ..Thank you for NOT calling all these "4 door parts cars" regardless of their condition...I used to think that way, back in the '80's, early '90's...but at this stage of the game, that is an obsolete way of thinking..but still persists with some..sure, convertibles, and 2 door hardtops(pillarless) are (usually) worth more and more desirable than the 4 doors, but 4 doors are often the best way for someone with a small budget to get into a classic car, and (as of yet) driveable examples in decent shape can be had for a reasonable amount of money..not so with 'verts or 2 dr hardtops on many models..not even basket cases, which someone with a small budget couldn't afford to restore even if they could buy the hulk...plus, many 4 doors, especially 4 door hardtops(pillarless) actually are very nice looking cars...wagons used to be considered "4 door parts cars" too, but they have now become desirable...

    For whatever reason, I find those '67-'68 Caprices/Impalas interesting looking. In my future literary work of a faith-based mystery novel, a '68 Custom coupe Chevrolet Impala sedan will be staring as a weird, suspect vehicle, and the backstory proceeding it will star as a dirty, dusty primer black or dark storm gray '68 Chevelle Malibu SS without its front bumper and hood with engine exposed. The suspect(s) will be unseen/unknown as in 1971's Duel, staring the late Dennis Weaver and 19 years later, made-for-cable-TV (USA Network) Wheels of Terror, with a creepy-looking '74 Dodge Charger.

  • @storageyardresident
    @storageyardresident 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have done old cars before and I know what it costs to just fix them up and for them to be a usable vehicle. The number one rule when selecting a project car is for it to be as complete as possible and to be rust free as possible and free of body damage as possible. The number two rule is not to use a parts car that is only good for parts as your builder car. The number three rule is some cars are worth saving and some cars are not worth saving. A four door car can cost the same amount to restore as a more desirable body style but the four door car returns less if you want to sell it.

    • @mr.goodpliers6988
      @mr.goodpliers6988  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Four door hardtop Impalas are the king of the mountain for '67, simply because they were chosen (intentionally or not) as the "hero" car for a TV show that ran 15 years and had a fairly wide reach and fan base. They had a low survival, because many got parted out. The market is very strong for them. They will bring as much or more than a two door, convertible, or even SS car.
