It is used in Australia for floors etc. going for around $60-70 per meter, also for staircases, furniture, kitchen cabinets. A possible "local employer" for remote communities.

I've had a number of bamboo products in my life. My bamboo cutting board is the best I've ever had. I cook and use my cutting board almost every day, often twice a day, and it shows little wear after 9 years. Great stuff! But the salt? No thanks. If you use table salt and get your vitamins and minerals through your food, there is no advantage.
Bamboo salt seems like complete bs. It may taste different but that's it. Also similar salt is made all over world by heating salt at high temperatures.
