Anyone that thinks those pieces are light is crazy. Balsa wood when it's fresh and wet is very heavy. It's a giant sponge for water. It isn't light until it's dried out. Those guys are beasts. Give them credit.

It is better to use planted forests as it will provide more wood and with the quality needed, so it will need a smaller area than if you take it from the wild. Planted forests help saving the natural ones.
Try a princess tree. They're everywhere on the east coast. I can barely manage to keep them in check. They take over everything and grow super fast. Maybe almost as fast as the species in the video. Even their leaves are similar to what's shown here. I've heard they're the wood of choice for folks who like to hand-carve.
@@Крщенебудуказати Absolutely. I think they grow as far north as New York. If you're in zone 7 (like me), they'll handle the winter without any problems.
Are these trees being harvested Balsa Trees. The same wood that Model Air planes were made of years ago. Without a Narrator to inform the viewers about the trees and what country they are harvesting the trees really hurts the quality of a video like this. The quality of the video is great and the Music is fine, need some one to do the talking.
Balsa wood used to be used in model making - light, easy to carve, but rather expensive. Canadian here - believe it's used to make houses in other areas due to its high R value (insulation properties). Of course must be clad with other material as so soft.
Excellent work, what's the name of tree and which country grow and process it ? What is the waste material coming out of this sawing plant; may be I can propose something out of that.
Esos no son indígenas suramericanos, son afroamericanos, casi que ningún indígena del continente americano tiene esa pinta, ya que son de piel roja y no son tan oscuros
Paulownia is an incredible plant. This tree grows so rapidly, is so resistant to destruction by its aerial parts, and its wood has such properties, as if this organism were an assimilator invader or an escaped experimental subject from a biological laboratory (like hogweed). What conditions on Earth could cultivate such a species?
These indigenous people in the beginning of this video are not from South America…😂 They are from a pacific country known as, Papua New Guinea. It’s north of Australia.

The leaves look exactly like Paulownia leaves. Paulownia wood is also very lightweight, even when freshly cut.

The arrangement and foliage made me think it was P. tomentosa, but as the trees matured I realized the bark features weren't right for that species.
